EXPLANATION When you shall see the abomination of desolation. The abomination of desolation of which Daniel (IX. 27.) and Christ here speak, is the desecration of the temple and the city of Jerusalem by the rebellious Jews by perpetrating the most abominable vices, injustices and robberies, &c., but principally by the pagan Romans by putting up their idols. This destruction which was accomplished in the most fearful manner about forty years after the death of Christ, was foretold by Him according to the testimony of St. Luke. (XXI. 20.) At the same time He speaks of the end of the world and of His coming to judgment, of which the desolation of Jerusalem was a figure.
Pray that your flight be not in the winter or on the Sabbath. Because, as St. Jerome says, the severe cold which reigns in the deserts and mountains would pre­vent the people from going thither to seek security, and because it was forbidden by the law for the Jews to travel on the Sabbath.
There shall rise false Christs and false prophets. According to the testimony of the Jewish historian Josephus, who was an eyewitness of the destruction of Jerusalem, Eleazar, John, Simon, &c., were such false prophets who under the pretence of helping the Jews, brought them into still greater misfortunes; before the end of the world it will be Antichrist with his followers, whom St. Paul calls the man of sin and the son of perdition, (II Thess. II. 3.) on account of his diabolical malice and cruelty. He will rise up, sit in the temple, proclaim himself God, and kill all who will not recognize him as such. His splendor, his promises and his false miracles will be such that even the holy and just will be in danger of being seduced, but for their sake God will shorten these days of persecution.
Wheresoever the body shall be, there shall the eagles also be gathered together. That is, where the wicked are, who have aimed at spiritual corruption, there punishment will overtake and destroy them.
This generation shall not pass till all these things be done. By these words Christ defines the time of the destruction of Jerusalem, and says that many of His hearers would live to see it, which also happened. But when the end of the world will come, He says, not even the angels in heaven know. (Matt. XXIV. 36.) Let us endeavor to be always ready by leading a holy life, for the coming of the divine Judge, and meditate often on the words of our di­vine Lord: Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass.

INSTRUCTION CONCERNING PERJURYAmen, I say to you.(Matt. XXIV. 34.)
The Son of God here, and elsewhere in the gospel, con­firms His word by an oath, as it were, for swearing is nothing else than to call upon God, His divine veracity, His justice, or upon His creatures in the name of God, as witness of the truth of our words. — Is swearing, then, lawful, and when? — It is lawful when justice or necessity or an important advantage requires it, and the cause is true and equitable. (Jer. IV. 2.) Those sin grievously, there­fore, who swear to that which is false and unjust, because they call upon God as witness of falsehood and injustice, by which His eternal truthfulness and justice is desecrated; those sin who swear in a truthful cause without necessity and sufficient reason, because it is disrespectful to call upon God as witness for every trivial thing. In like manner, those sin grievously and constantly who are so accustomed to swearing as to break out into oaths, without knowing or considering whether the thing is true or false, whether they will keep their promise or not, or even if they will be able to keep it; such expose themselves to the danger of swearing falsely. “There is no one,” says St. Chrysostom, “who swears often, who does not sometimes swear falsely, just as he who speaks much, sometimes says unbecoming and false things.” Therefore Christ tells those who seek perfection, not to swear at all, (Matt. V. 34.) that they might not fall into the habit of swearing and from that into perjury. If you have had the misfortune to be guilty of perjury, at once be truly sorry, weep for this terrible sin which you have committed, frankly confess it, repair the injury you may have caused by it, and chastise yourself for it by rigorous penance.

Transhumanism has long been sold as a way to make us healthier and, eventually, immortal. Today, it’s being promoted under The Great Reset banner of “equity.” The propaganda is that everyone will benefit from human augmentation, from the richest to the poorest. In reality, transhumanism is a eugenics program, differing in name only.

Anyone who thinks the globalist cabal, the wealthiest people on the planet, intend to allow “useless eaters” who gobble up “their” resources to live even longer than we do already is sadly mistaken. They have no such intent. All that talk of “health equity” is a smoke screen, a carrot, to lure people into going along with their plan for what will ultimately be the extermination of billions.

The answer, Harari proposed, may lie in “a combination of drugs and computer games.” I don’t believe him for a second. Drugs and computer games have certainly been tools to distract and control the younger generations, but the future they’re envisioning has no room for nonproductive members.

Just what is the IoB? The Rand corporation defines it as devices with computing capabilities that can communicate with internet-connected devices or networks that collect person-generated health and biometric data and/or can alter the function of the human body.4

Key words in that sentence include the stated goal to “modify human behavior.” The WEF doesn’t tell us who will be in charge of those modifications, but we can safely assume that it will be those who have something to gain from controlling other people’s actions and behaviors.

While all of this sounds like pure sci-fi, the U.S. Pentagon and Profusa Inc. have already developed an implantable biosensor that tracks chemical reactions inside your body, ostensibly to detect disease.6 As explained by Defense One, the biosensor consists of two parts:7

Knowing that, it’s hard to imagine that your biological data won’t be used to boost Google’s profits and further totalitarian control through biosecurity.

Profusa was expecting to receive approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2021, but it doesn’t appear to have been approved yet. That said, the wheels of the approval process are in motion, so it’s only a matter of time.

In the video above, the Wilson Center NOW interviews Richard Solash, editor of The Wilson Quarterly, and Eleonore Pauwels, director of the Anticipatory Intelligence (AI) Lab with the Wilson Center’s Science and Technology Innovation Program, about the IoB and the role AI will play in the coming “algorithmic age.”

Pauwels makes it clear that one of the inescapable facets of the IoB is that we will be under constant assessment, “under measure of computation,” in every aspect of our lives, “from what you eat, whom you date, what you buy, how much energy you use” up to and including your vital signs and genetic data.

To explain the idea behind the IoB, she suggests you begin by thinking about how the Internet of Things work, all these smart devices that are connected not only to each other, but also to a wider network, where AI can analyze and optimize all those data.

Now, add to those networks health-monitoring devices, from wearables to implants, which will share your most private data. AI will then “analyze and optimize” those data as well, and while Pauwels doesn’t state that such optimization will be carried out automatically, without your knowledge, I see no reason to assume that that’s part of the plan.

Considering all of this, the biggest challenge, Pauwels says, will be to figure out how we can maintain control of our own futures and make sure AI is “shaped to our ideals.”

While that warning sounds rational, just whose ideals are we talking about? To believe humanity in general will have any say in the matter is naïve. We cannot think about the IoB outside of, or separate from, the eugenicist transhumanist Great Reset.

The powers pushing the IoB forward are the same ones pushing for The Great Reset, and The Great Reset’s goal is to create a one world government using transhumanism as the platform for the control of the human mind and body.

There is no circumstance, that I can see in which the ideals of the AI will be any other ideal than that of the transhumanists, the eugenicists and The Great Resetters.

AI will make decisions based on its programming, and that programming is shaped and directed by the those who aim to rule everyone else. How can AI be shaped according to human-centric ideals when they’re being funded and developed by people looking forward to a post-human society?

The only recourse, really, to maintain control of our futures, is to reject the IoB. Unfortunately, this will not be easy. Few are willing to forgo what they perceive as convenience, and fewer still really understand where it’s all leading to in the first place.

Perhaps the best we can do right now is educate ourselves and others about the end goals. A growing understanding that all this convenience will land us in a digital prison with no possibility of escape may be the only thing that can prevent it.

It’s worth remembering that if you give up your freedom, you also relinquish your ability to protect those you love. Your children can be taken from you if you disobey. Your spouse or parents can be injured or killed and you have no say in the matter.

Already, Canada offers euthanasia for a variety of conditions and situations, from long COVID8 and mental illness9 to hearing loss10 and poverty “that prevents living with dignity.”11

As noted by Exposing the Darkness,12 “After two years of genocidal COVID tyranny, based on the weaponization of the public health system, deployment of weaponized psychiatry to fight dissent and eliminate mentally ill ‘useless eaters’ was expected.”

Considering Psychology Today has suggested anti-vaxxers may have a mental health problem, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to imagine a day when refusing a COVID booster puts you on a euthanasia list. For now, it’s supposedly voluntary, but we all know what a slippery slope that can be, especially when doctors are compensated for every patient they put six feet under.

In at least one case, family members have stated they suspect the patient may have been coerced or tricked into signing the euthanasia form.13 In 2018, an Ontario man with an incurable neurological disease released audio recordings of hospital staff trying to get him to agree to euthanasia, when what he wanted was assisted home care.14

For decades, we’ve embraced technologies with our mind set on convenience and/or safety. That’s always how they rope us in. That’s how they’ll lure us into embracing the IoB as well, digital identity and CBDC’s as well. We have to get smarter about this and start thinking long term, because those who want to enslave us sure do. They’re planning decades into the future.

The march toward CBDCs in the U.S. started last week when the the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Innovation Center, or NYIC, announced that it would be launching a 12-week proof-of-concept pilot for a central bank digital currency, or CBDC.15

It’s important to realize that we will lose everything worth living for if we continue down this path without privacy safeguards and personal autonomy rights in place. Even then it’s a risk, as few laws are foolproof. Just look at how the U.S. Constitution is being trampled, even though it’s supposed to be inviolable.

As long as the corrupting influence of the globalists remain, we can be sure that they’ll continue their efforts to hack our bodies and brains, and to come up with ways to eliminate those who oppose them.

Globally, colorectal cancer is the third most-diagnosed cancer, with a high mortality rate in its advanced stages. One reason for its lethal effects is the ability of tissue around the tumor — or the tumor microenvironment — to suppress tumor-fighting immune cells. With the body’s immune T cells restricted, the tumor is able to grow and spread.1

A compound produced from substances in pomegranates, known as urolithin A, has emerged as a powerhouse player in the fight against cancer, however, as it may naturally boost tumor-fighting immune cells to help combat the disease.2

Urolithin A (UA) is a metabolite of ellagitannins in pomegranates.3 Researchers from the Georg-Speyer-Haus in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, revealed that UA “recycles and renews mitochondria” by inducing a certain biological pathway.

Your mitochondria are often called the powerhouse of cells due to their roll in energy production. UA induces a process known as mitophagy, by which old, damaged mitochondria in T cells are replaced with new ones. Mitophagy refers to “a cytoprotective process that limits both the production of ROS and the release of toxic intramitochondrial proteins.”4

In other words, mitophagy is the process of cleaning out your mitochondria, allowing them to function at their best, which is crucial for normal cellular functioning and homeostasis,5 and thus for health and longevity. The process changes the T cells’ genetic program, making them more able to fight the tumor. According to a Georg-Speyer-Haus news release:6

“The researchers demonstrated the therapeutic potential of urolithin A in two ways: On the one hand, urolithin A can be used as a food in the preclinical model, which limits tumor growth and even acts synergistically with existing immunotherapy.

On the other hand, the benefits of urolithin A were also observed on human T cells. In vitro treatment with urolithin A ‘rejuvenates’ human T cells, producing memory T memory stem cells in the laboratory.”

In an upcoming clinical trial, UA will be used in people with colorectal cancer to determine its effectiveness. Study author Dr. Dominic Denk of Frankfurt University Hospital noted, “Our findings are particularly exciting because the focus is not on the tumor cell but on the immune system, the natural defense against cancer … We hope to use this to sustainably improve the therapy of colorectal cancer, but also of other cancers.”7

UA not only may play a role in cancer but also other age-related diseases, which are often the result of a buildup of dysfunctional mitochondria. “It’s the only known molecule that can relaunch the mitochondrial clean-up process, otherwise known as mitophagy,” Patrick Aebischer, who co-authored a 2016 study on UA’s ability to induce mitophagy,8 explained. “It’s a completely natural substance, and its effect is powerful and measurable.”9

In a study involving nematode C. elegans (roundworms), lifespan increased by more than 45% when the worms were exposed to UA. In rodent studies, older mice also experienced antiaging benefits from UA, including 42% better endurance than control mice of the same age.10

One caveat: Gut microbes are required to metabolize ellagitannins, which are found in pomegranate, into UA. But with age, alterations in the microbiome leads to reduced production of UA. According to the Immunity study, older adults produce less than half the UA as younger people.11

Studies involving concentrated forms of UA have shown that dietary supplementation may also be capable of inducing mitophagy and slowing the progression of aging-related diseases.12 Human clinical trials have also been promising. When healthy but sedentary older adults were given UA over a four-week period, it induced a molecular signature that suggested improved mitochondrial and cellular health.13

Interestingly, in a study of healthy adults, only 12% had detectable levels of UA at the start of the study, but about 40% were able to convert ellagitannins into UA following the intake of pomegranate juice.14 Those who produced UA had significantly higher diversity in their gut microbiome, along with a higher ratio of the bacteria Firmicutes to Bacteroides. However, supplementation with UA led to a more than six-fold exposure to UA compared to drinking pomegranate juice.

UA has anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects, making it a promising compound for cancer treatment and prevention. The substance has proven beneficial in models of pancreatic cancer, and it’s suggested that it may be useful for preventing immune suppression that’s associated with chronic inflammation in cancer.15 Further, as noted in a study published in OncoTargets and Therapy:16

“Growing studies have found that urolithin A downregulates multiple tumor pathways in colon, prostate, and bladder cancer through downregulating several oncogenes such as mTOR and K-Ras, upregulating tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and EGFR.”

That study referred to UA as a “natural anticancer drug” that “can be used as a first-line chemotherapeutic drug combination candidate to prevent drug resistance.”17 The researchers found UA inhibited the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which plays a fundamental role in tumor progression.18

Previous research has also shown the antioxidants in pomegranate can inhibit cell proliferation and invasion, and promote apoptosis (programmed cell death) in various cancer cells, including breast19 and prostate cancer cells.20 According to the authors of a 2012 study on prostate cancer:21

“The results of apoptotic analyses implicated that fruit juice might trigger the apoptosis in DU145 cells via death receptor signaling and mitochondrial damage pathway … 11 proteins were deregulated in affected DU145 cells with three upregulated and eight downregulated proteins.

These dys-regulated proteins participated in cytoskeletal functions, antiapoptosis, proteasome activity, NF-κB signaling, cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and angiogenesis …

The analytical results of this study help to provide insight into the molecular mechanism of inducing prostate cancer cell apoptosis by pomegranate fruit juice and to develop a novel mechanism-based chemopreventive strategy for prostate cancer.”

In another study,22 men with prostate cancer who drank 8 ounces of pomegranate juice daily significantly lengthened the time it took for their prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels to double — from about 15 months to 54 months. Men whose PSA levels double in a short time are at an increased risk of death from prostate cancer, so the results suggest that pomegranate had a powerfully protective effect. Another study, published in PLOS Biology, explained:23

“Among urolithins, UA shows anticancer, anti-inflammation, and antiaging effects and has demonstrated compelling biological activities. The direct effects of UA have been studied in different types of cells in vitro, including human prostate and colorectal cancer cells and B16 melanoma cells. In these experiments, UA consistently prevented cancer cell proliferation and metastasis, arguing for a potential anticancer effect of UA.”

UA has benefits beyond cancer control, including improving skeletal muscle performance and mitochondrial health in older adults. In a trial of 66 people who received either 1,000 milligrams of UA or a placebo daily for four months, the UA group had a significant improvement in muscle endurance, based on the number of muscle contractions to fatigue — in both hand and leg skeletal muscles.24

C-reactive protein, a measure of inflammation, also decreased after UA supplementation. Researchers concluded, “Long-term urolithin A supplementation was beneficial for muscle endurance and plasma biomarkers, suggesting that urolithin A may counteract age-associated muscle decline.”25

UA’s antiobesity effects are also worth noting. The compound prevents diet-induced obesity and metabolic dysfunctions in rodent models, without causing any adverse effects. It also enhances thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue, increasing energy expenditure, and induces browning of white adipose tissue.26

This is a good thing, as brown fat is a beneficial form of fat that may generate heat and burn glucose and fats through a mitochondrial reaction mediated by mitochondrial uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1).27

Taken together, not only did researchers describe UA as “a potent antiobesity agent with potential for human clinical applications,” but they also detailed additional benefits beyond weight loss:28

“Besides the antiobesity effect, UA causes a series of beneficial metabolic effects, including improved insulin sensitivity and reduced systemic inflammation and fatty liver, which are at least partially due to weight loss … UA enhances adipose tissue production of T3, which subsequently activates transcription and translation of the thermogenic genes PGC1a and UCP-1, leading to higher EE [energy expenditure] and lower body weight.”

Beyond UA, the antioxidants in pomegranates also help quench inflammation that contributes to the destruction of cartilage in your joints, a key reason for the pain and stiffness felt by many osteoarthritis sufferers. One study even found that pomegranate juice blocked the production of a cartilage-destroying enzyme.29

Many of pomegranate’s — known as “the jewel of autumn” — beneficial polyphenols are stored in the peel, which is why pomegranate peel powder is one of my favorite supplements.

Research shows pomegranate peel contains more than twice the amounts of antioxidants — specifically phenolics, flavonoids and proanythocyanidins — than the pulp, for instance, and has been shown to protect low-density lipoprotein against oxidation to a far greater degree than pulp.30 31

Pomegranate peel powder, pomegranate peel extract and UA supplements are different ways to get more concentrated effects of this superfood. However, many people enjoy eating pomegranates as a snack.

You can also sprinkle the arils (the juice-filled seed sacs) over salads or cooked dishes. Inside each aril is a crunchy fiber-rich seed. While some people spit the seeds out, you can eat the aril whole, seed and all. To get the arils out, following this simple three-step process described by the POM Council:32

  1. Cut off the crown, then cut the pomegranate into sections

  2. Place the section in a bowl of water, then roll out the arils with your fingers (discard everything else)

  3. Strain out the water and enjoy the arils whole, seeds and all

Excess Sleep Can Increase Stroke Risk by 85%

While the pitfalls of too little sleep have been well documented, there are also risks of sleeping too much, which is generally defined as more than nine hours a night. Specifically, excessive sleep, along with long midday naps, may increase your risk of stroke, according to a Chinese study involving 31,750 people.1

It’s unclear exactly why excess sleep increases stroke risk, but long nappers and sleepers are more likely to have increased waist circumferences and inactive lifestyles, both of which are risk factors for stroke. However, other mechanisms could also be at play, as the relationship between sleep and cardiovascular health is complex and still being explored.

Compared with sleeping seven to eight hours a night, those who slept for nine hours or more had a 23% greater risk of stroke, while shorter sleep (less than six hours a night) had no significant effect on stroke risk. Those who took long midday naps of more than 90 minutes also had a greater stroke risk — by 25% — than those who napped for 30 minutes or less.2

The greatest risk of all, however, occurred among those who both slept for nine hours or more at night and napped for more than 90 minutes. This excessive sleep combination increased stroke risk by 85% compared to moderate sleepers and nappers.

Sleep quality also matters, and the researchers found, “Compared with good sleep quality, those with poor sleep quality showed a 29%, 28% and 56% higher risk of total, ischemic, and hemorrhagic stroke, respectively.”3 People who were long nighttime sleepers with poor sleep quality were 82% more likely to have a stroke compared to moderate sleepers with good-quality sleep.

What’s more, even switching sleep duration from moderate to long increased stroke risk. Those who switched from seven to nine hours of sleep a night to nine hours or more were 44% more likely to have a stroke than persistent moderate sleepers.4 Previous research has also linked sleeping for more than eight hours per night with stroke, particularly in the elderly and women.5

In the U.S., more than 795,000 people have a stroke every year, which amounts to one stroke every 40 seconds.6 While stroke is the second leading cause of death, and a leading cause of disability, worldwide,7 it’s only recently that its link to sleep has become more widely recognized. In fact, most strokes occur in the first hours of the day, a time during sleep when blood pressure patterns dip, then surge in the morning.

“This morning blood pressure surge has been suggested to lead to increased cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in the morning by disrupting vulnerable plaques, leading to rupture and thrombosis,” researchers explained in the journal Frontiers in Neurology.8

Sleep duration is also associated with an increased risk of high blood pressure, a leading risk factor for stroke. One study revealed, for instance, that sleeping for less than seven or more than eight hours per night is associated with an increased risk of high blood pressure.9

Disrupted sleep, including that caused by sleep apnea or limb movements during sleep, can also raise stroke risk, as noted in the Journal of Stroke,10 perhaps because it puts extra stress on your cardiovascular system:

“Any causes of sleep curtailment or fragmentation such as sleep restriction, sleep apnea, insomnia, periodic limb movements during sleep, and shift work, not only impair cardiovascular restoration but also impose a stress on the cardiovascular system. Sleep disturbances have been reported to play a role in the development of stroke and other cardiovascular disorders.”

In order to reduce your risk of stroke and other chronic conditions, optimizing your sleep is crucial — but what’s the “magic” number? Adults need an average of seven to nine hours of sleep a night, with most doing well with about eight.

There are a number of risk factors for stroke aside from excess sleep, many of them physical in nature. As mentioned, high blood pressure is the greatest one, increasing risk of stroke by two- to fourfold.11 Other health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, atherosclerosis and obesity, also increase the risk, as do smoking cigarettes and physical inactivity.

Using antibiotics for an extended period of time during middle-age or later may also increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, including heart attack and stroke, in women.12

Among younger adults, in particular, men have a higher risk of stroke than women, and African-American and Hispanic Americans are about two times more likely to have a stroke than Caucasians.13

Further, according to Dr. Lee H. Schwamm, stroke neurologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Dr. Lawrence R. Wechsler, professor of neurology at Perelman School of Medicine School of Medicine, the risk factors for stroke among people under the age of 50 differ from those in older patients, and include the following:14

  • Arterial dissection causing a blood clot — Causes of arterial dissection, which is when the lining of an artery tears, can occur during sudden neck movements, including sports injuries to the neck and jolting that can occur when riding a roller coaster

  • Hole in the heart (patent foramen ovale) — An estimated 1 in 4 people has this condition, which raises your odds of a stroke, as it can allow a blood clot to cross through your heart and into your brain

  • Blood clots

  • Heart defects or disturbed heart rhythm

  • Narrowing of the arteries caused by stimulants or drugs, causing a sudden lack of oxygen to your brain

  • Aneurism or arteriovenous malformation

What’s worse for your health than excess sleep is excess sleep combined with physical inactivity and prolonged sitting. In fact, one study found “… physical inactivity, prolonged sitting and/or long sleep duration … had the strongest associations with all-cause mortality.”15

The good news is that exercise is very effective at both improving your sleep quality and reducing your risk of stroke, even in small doses. Less than an hour of strength training per week can reduce your risk for heart attack and stroke anywhere from 40% to 70%.16 Less than one hour of strength training per week also lowered the risk of metabolic syndrome, which raises your risk for Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke, by 29%.17

Daily walks may also have a protective effect, particularly in reducing stroke severity should one occur. Adults who participate in light to moderate physical activity may have less severe strokes than their physically inactive peers, with researchers recommending at least four hours of walking or two to three hours of swimming a week as a potential means of reducing stroke severity.18

One reason why exercise is protective against stroke is because elevating your core temperature through exercise, steam rooms, hot baths or saunas helps optimize heat shock proteins (HSP) inside your cells, which limit cellular damage facilitate cellular recovery,19 and improves protein misfolding and repair.

Accumulation of damaged HSP may lead to plaque formation in your brain or cardiovascular system, thus leading to an increased risk of stroke or cardiovascular disease. Toward that end, researchers have also linked sauna use with a reduced risk for stroke and high blood pressure, because it increases heat shock proteins.20

The vast majority of strokes are linked to modifiable lifestyle factors, which is why I strongly encourage you to take control of your health to reduce your risk. If you’re sleeping too much, seek out the underlying reasons why and address them at the source.

Overall, however, many of the same risk factors that raise your risk of heart disease — such as obesity, smoking and inactivity — also raise your risk of stroke. Common nutrient deficiencies, like vitamin D and magnesium, also raise your risk.

Ideally, measure your vitamin D level twice a year and make sure you maintain a healthy level between 60 and 80 ng/mL (150 and 200 nmol/L) year-round, either from sensible sun exposure or oral supplementation, or both. To raise your magnesium level, eat magnesium-rich foods and/or take a magnesium supplement, balanced with vitamins D3, K2 and calcium. Other key stroke-prevention strategies include:

  • Eat real food — A diet of unprocessed or minimally processed whole foods, rich in healthy fats and fermented foods and low in net carbs, will protect your heart and cardiovascular health.

  • Manage your stress — Stress is associated with a high-risk of stroke,21 and while experiencing stress is inevitable, how you manage it can make the difference in how it affects your health. My favorite overall tool to manage stress is EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques).

If you or a loved one is having a stroke, emergency medications can dissolve the clot that is blocking blood flow to your brain. Acting fast is crucial, however, as in order to be effective, you typically need to get help within three hours — and the sooner the better.22

Most strokes occur without warning, so knowing the following symptoms of stroke and calling 911 immediately can therefore be the difference between life and long-lasting disability or death.

  • Sudden numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg, especially when occurring on one side of the body; face drooping, typically on just one side

  • Sudden confusion; trouble talking or understanding speech

  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes, or double vision

  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness or loss of balance or coordination

  • Sudden severe headache with no known cause; nausea or vomiting

Even if the symptoms are brief and disappear, a mini stroke may have occurred, so get emergency help if you or a loved one experiences any of these symptoms. A helpful acronym to memorize is FAST:

  • F: Face drooping

  • A: Arm weakness

  • S: Speech impairment

  • T: Time to call 911!
