Elephant Fitted With a Prosthetic Foot So He’s Able to Walk Again – LOOK

elephant-fitted-with-a-prosthetic-foot-so-he’s-able-to-walk-again-–-look
Cam and Chhouk with the prosthetic – SWNS

When one is dealing with elephants, everything becomes a bit bigger, a bit more extreme—such as in this video when CPR is delivered via two veterinarians jumping up and down on the animal’s ribs like a moon bounce.

Similarly, Chhouk, an 11-year-old Asian elephant living at the Wildlife Alliance conservation organization in Cambodia, walks with a 44-pound prosthetic foot made out of recycled car tires and tow truck strapping.

Chhouk’s foot had to be amputated after it was caught in a poacher’s snare, but thanks to some $1,450 in funding every year from the Paradise Wildlife Park in the UK, the multi-ton animal gets a new prosthetic every 6-months, allowing him to walk, swim, and even run without difficulty.

“The level of care that he gets is brilliant and he has a great life now. There’s no better feeling,” said 27-year-old Cam Whitnall from England who runs the Paradise Wildlife Park and Big Cat Sanctuary with his family.

“Because he’s still growing, it needs replacing often and we’ve been sending payments to cover that. They’re made out of recycled rubber and some Velcro to tie it up,” he said. “They weigh about 20kg (44 pounds) and we actually got them to send one over and it’s sitting in my office currently.”

OTHER ANIMAL PROSTHETICS: The ‘Wizard of Paws’ Makes Prosthetics to Fit Any Animal – Lending a Human Hand of Compassion

Recently Cam got to visit Wildlife Alliance in Cambodia and found the whole setup for Chhouk was exceptional. The keepers use a little contraption to isolate his leg in order to attach the prosthetic, but as a video taken by Cam shows, Chhouk helps the process along as if he were a human putting on a shoe.

Nevertheless, he’s still rewarded at the end with a big juicy coconut.

Sherpa Convinces Climber to Let Him Make Rare 'Death Zone' Rescue on Mt. Everest

Gelje Sherpa with the other climber on his back – @gelje_sherpa_

It’s been one of the busiest and deadliest seasons for summiting The Mountain So High No Bird Can Fly Over It, also known as Mt. Everest, and if not for a 30-year-old Sherpa named Gelje, it would have become deadlier still.

Gelje Sherpa and a colleague rescued a Malaysian climber who was on the cusp of freezing to death in Everest’s “death zone” where the lack of oxygen and -30C° -22°F temperatures prohibit extended human visitation.

He found the climber around the Balcony Area, which is 27,600 feet, or 8,400 meters above sea level, clinging to a rope.

Carrying him down wrapped in a heating blanket that was strapped to Gelje’s back, the descent took over 6 hours before he found another Sherpa, Nima Tahi Sherpa, to help him. From South Col, to Camp III, they got the climber down to an area accessible by a helicopter, which evacuated him on a long-line stretcher.

“It is almost impossible to rescue climbers at that altitude,” Department of Tourism official Bigyan Koirala told Reuters. “It is a very rare operation.”

Gelje was guiding a Chinese client to the nearly 30,000-foot summit of the mountain when he spotted the Malaysian climber on the 18th of May. A devout Buddhist, Gelje convinced his client to abandon the ascent so that he could rescue the man.

“Saving one life is more important than praying at the monastery,” said Gelje.

The Sherpa are the ethnic group that lives in the mountains of Nepal, but it’s also a very common surname. A slang term for a guide, it actually simply means “Eastern people.”

The Sherpa people hold dozens of world mountain climbing records and have epigenetic adaptations and spiritual beliefs suited for living at high altitudes. All but the most experienced and veteran mountaineers will have a Sherpa guide on their way up Everest.

Good News in History, June 2 – Good News Network

good-news-in-history,-june-2-–-good-news-network

70 years ago today, Queen Elizabeth II was coronated in one of the first major international events to be televised. Twenty-seven million people across Britain watched the event live on the BBC Television Service, many having purchased or rented television sets specifically for that purpose. There had been considerable debate within the British Cabinet on the subject, with Prime Minister Winston Churchill against the idea; Elizabeth refused his advice on this matter and insisted the event take place before television cameras. This was the first live broadcast of an event taking place in the United Kingdom broadcast in France, Belgium, West Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, marking the birth of Eurovision. With Elizabeth having recently passed away, the UK and the world saw with what esteem humanity held her. While the idea of a monarch or an empire being mostly abhorred by political theorists of nearly every degree during her life, colored as it was by the independence of dozens of former colonies, other scholars have suggested that having the head of state separate from any kind of real decision making allows for citizens of a nation to have their icon of leadership free from the difficulties of politics to portray what the idea of a national leader should be—i.e. something like a noble representation of the character of a nation’s people.

It’s doubtful that any monarch will ever have the kind of adoration and respect that Elizabeth II received from those near to and far from the British Isles, and now most of the former dominion countries are removing the Crown as their official head of state, such as Jamaica, Australia, and Canada, for that reason.

On this day 77 years ago, the Italian Republic was born out of the monarchy of King Umberto II. The day is celebrated as “Festa della Republica” and is one of the biggest holidays on the Italian calendar. It’s celebrated under the late-Spring sunshine with parades, concerts, and merrymaking of all sorts, with one of several iconic dishes being a spit-roasted maialino or young pig. READ exactly how the republic was formed… (1946)

In 1946 a referendum was presented to the Italian people with as simple a resolution as possible: “Republic, or monarchy?” The question had been on the national conscience since the rise and fall of Mussolini. His end allowed the House of Savoy, the traditional monarchic rulers of Italy during periods when parts of the peninsula were united, to return to power.

The referendum didn’t have much between it, with a 54%-46% split, with northern Italy decidedly voting for a republic and central and southern Italy, Sicily, and Sardinia voting decidedly for a monarchy.

After the results came in, ministers urged King Umberto to move to Naples and proclaim a rival government with the intention of fighting a civil war, knowing the army would side with the wealthier faction. However, Umberto, angry as he was, could not do such a thing, saying “My house united Italy. It will not divide it.”

And on this day in 1967, The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in America—widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time.Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band-cover

In the next four decades, it sold more than 32 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling LPs in history. Their eighth studio album, it was lauded for its innovations in music production, songwriting, and graphic design; for pioneering the idea of a concept album; and for providing a musical representation of youth counterculture during the 1967 Summer of Love—it was #1 on the charts for the entire summer.

Knowing they would not need to perform the tracks live (having recently quit touring), The Fab Four pushed beyond the technological progression achieved with their 1966 album Revolver. They adopted an experimental approach to composition and recording on songs such as “With a Little Help from My Friends”, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “A Day in the Life”.

Album Art, inside the cover

Recorded over a 129-day period, producer George Martin and engineer Geoff Emerick’s innovative work on the album included the liberal application of sound shaping signal processing and the use of a 40-piece orchestra performing aleatoric crescendos. The album also incorporated a range of stylistic influences, including vaudeville, circus, avant-garde, and Western and Indian music, which offered sounds and textures not usually associated with popular music.

It was Paul’s idea to build the album around alter egos. Martin explains, “Paul said, ‘Why don’t we make the album as though the Pepper band really existed, as though Sergeant Pepper was making the record? We’ll dub in effects and things.’ I loved the idea, and from that moment on it was as though Pepper had a life of its own.”

Critics hailed it immediately as a cultural turning point that elevated pop music to the level of fine art. The New York Times Book Review characterized it as a harbinger of a “golden Renaissance of Song”. It won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year–the first rock LP to receive the honor. (1967)

127 years ago today, the Italian electrical engineer and inventor Guglielmo Marconi, applied for the first-ever patent for a system of wireless communication. He is credited as the inventor of radio, and shared the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics for contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy.

At age 20, Guglielmo began experimenting with a method to transmit and receive messages over a distance without wires at the family home—first, across the room, then down the corridor, then into the fields. A breakthrough came when Marconi discovered that a much greater range could be achieved by raising the height of his antenna and grounding his instruments—the system was capable of transmitting signals up to 2 miles (3.2 km), even over hills.

When Italian officials ignored his letter and instead evoked an insane asylum, Marconi left his birthplace of Bologna to go to England where he found the funds and support to convert his work into practical use. He became an entrepreneur, founding The Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company to innovate further.

His ‘Marconi’s Law’ is the empirical relation between the length of antennas and the maximum signaling distance of radio transmissions, but with over 800 patents, he moved into radar and shortwaves, and visual wave amplification too, as one of the founders of the BBC. Upon Marconi’s death in 1937, all the radio stations around the world kept 2 mins of silence.

And, 79 years ago today, composer Marvin Hamlisch, who is one of only two people to have ever won the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards, along with a Pulitzer Prize, was born. The New York pianist wrote some of the best-loved and most enduring songs and scores in movie history, including the awarding winning songs The Way We Were, The Entertainer (from The Sting), and Nobody Does it Better (from The Spy Who Loved Me). Hamlisch was also the primary conductor for the Pittsburgh Pops from 1995 until his 2012 death. (1944)

For his work as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1993, he earned Emmy nominations five consecutive years, with a win the final year.

I Wept for the Watchman

 By Anna Von Reitz

There are a lot of reasons anyone might weep over the loss of Dr. Rashid Buttar.  I had my own reasons for doing so, as I listened to his last message about the Covid 19 Op.
It was more than the sickening sense that he had always been right and was just confirming it, to his own dismay.
It was my fellow-feeling as he struggled and tried to say, almost defensively, almost apologetically, “I did all I could….”
He did all that he possibly could to warn everyone, and he did it without stopping and without apology from the moment he knew the truth, even from the moment he suspected the truth based on the evidence — he was reporting, reporting, reporting.
He was trying to be a doctor, researcher, and journalist of the highest order, all wrapped up in one, from the moment he woke up early in the morning, to the moment he rested his weary head in the wee hours of the next day, he was a man in motion.
I watched him age years in a matter of months, his handsome young face acquiring the telltale creases of care, his hair turning grey.
He reminded me of that poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay:
“My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends –
It gives a lovely light.”

I knew what he was going through, as I have suffered all the same, the early wrinkles and restless nights, the vague sense of horror in his eyes suddenly focusing down like a laser.  Been there, done that, myself, in my own way and time.

As I sat here this afternoon and listened to his last report the tears were on my face and I don’t cry easily or do it with any flare. The rain was pouring down outside, dripping from the eaves in sheets, thundering softly on the roof above, as if all Creation must weep.

This one dear man, whose voice was raised from the very beginning of this nightmare, is gone from us, our brother.

With all my heart and mind, I erased his murderers, not needing to know their names or faces.  Simply envisioning their empty spaces.  They won’t be missed.

But Rashid Buttar will be missed, and not only by his friends and family.

He will be missed by the whole family of Mankind, who have come to know him and those who have yet to hear his messages to all of us, they will miss him, too.

Rashid Buttar did all that he could do, short of taking up a machine gun, yet there he sat during his final broadcast, wrestling with himself, rationalizing on camera, fighting the feeling that somehow he could have done more, shoving away the responsibility of protecting people from their own bad decisions, wondering what more he could have done, blaming the victims for believing the Vermin, and then, knowing that they couldn’t know.

They were terribly misled by those they trusted. It wasn’t their area of expertise.  Too many of his own professional colleagues took the bait, lied, signed the paperwork, and got their payola.

Too many news professionals turned a blind eye to science, to logic, to history, to facts, and just kept on repeating buzzwords and phrases, like “follow the science”, “in these uncertain times” and “safe and effective” long after the truth was self-evident.

Too many politicians gave exemptions to themselves and their families, to their staff members, to the families of their staff members, and whoever  could pay them off.

Too many members of too many Agencies and military services turned a blind eye and followed orders that were criminal by any standard.

Rashid Buttar held onto the truth in spite of all of them, and stood for life in the midst of all the death.  He suffered, and if he had lived, he would have suffered more.

He is safe now, and free of all the threats and falsehoods and cruelties of the world, at peace and able to see all the good he was able to do in his short lifetime. May he rest now.  May the love and respect of those he left behind follow after him and crown him with great honor.

With love and sympathy to his family and those who knew him best,

Anna Maria

A Reply to “Q” and the Alliance — June 1st 2023

 By Anna Von Reitz

Early on, I was contacted by “Q” — a patriotic young man, and asked for some assistance, which I gave.  I tried to explain the difference in jurisdiction between land and sea, and the controlling position that the British Monarch has on the sea.
Any thinking American — given the choice, would always choose to stand on his own land and soil, rather than hazard the perils of the High Seas and Inland Waterways — as a matter of law.
The Law of the Land is solid and sure.
Justice on the land and soil of this country does not depend on public opinion (democracy) nor does it depend on private belief (theocracy).
Justice on the land depends on us and our ability, somewhat limited as it may be at times, to reason our way through the facts and evidence and determine by logic what must be true.
Ultimately, truth matters.   All else is immaterial.
Here is the truth:
If you don’t accept responsibility, you have no rights; and, if you do not accept liability, you have no authority.
The Colorado Nine, the January 6th Protesters, Stewart Rhodes, the Bundys and even President Trump have all come under this same gun and all of them have been forewarned by me and told the facts that they need to observe and the steps they need to take.
They haven’t listened — and in every single case, they have not only failed in their objectives, they have opened themselves up to prosecution  and persecution — both.
So long as you allow foreign governments to assume things about you, and so long as those foreign governments are benefited by assuming that you are an Unknown Enemy without rights or guarantees, the conclusion is foregone.
They will choose in their own favor and devil take the hindmost.
All the while, it’s you and your failure to declare and record your correct political status that is giving them the leeway to make assumptions about you and to exercise their own “discretion” concerning you.
Let me give you an example:
You are standing in your driveway raking leaves one afternoon, and two of their officers decide that,  in their opinion, you look like a dangerous subversive.
They arrest you and snoop around your home.  In addition to the rake, they find a chainsaw, a hoe, and an ax in your garage.
These tools found in your garage could be used to murder people!
Soon, a man is found dead under mysterious circumstances, and you are deemed to be the murderer — because that is the prevailing public opinion (democracy) or the earnest belief (theocracy) of your detractors.
This is the logic of mob rule (democracy).  And it is also the logic of the Inquisition (theocracy).
But, wait, wait, you say— we are Americans!  We are owed a republican form of government, not a democracy!  Not a theocracy!
You are subjecting yourselves to both these foreign forms of government by default, by failing to declare and record your political status as a Virginian, New Yorker, Minnesotan, Texan, or Californian….et alia, and by failing to support your own American Government, which is vested in your State Assemblies and their unincorporated Federation of States.
That’s why the January 6th Protesters are being treated so very badly by the Municipal Government in the District of Columbia.
The Protesters have had Municipal citizenship of the United States conferred on them without their knowledge or consent, and they have all neglected to waive the benefit of this foreign political status or otherwise declare their choice of political status.
Those who have them incarcerated are free to opine whatever they wish and believe whatever they wish about these Unfortunates, and treat them accordingly.  There is no public record or pre-established evidence otherwise.
The members of the Municipal Congress don’t even recognize the January 6th Protesters as persons covered by the Geneva Conventions.  As a result, the Mavens of the Majority are free to feed them gruel and let them freeze in unheated cells, labeled as “Unknown Enemy Combatants”.
The Protesters are being treated as traitors to the Municipal Government, which is a separate and foreign Beastie, an entity whose only excuse for being here is a largely dishonored service contract called known as “The Constitution of the United States”.
That’s why President Trump is being prosecuted in the District of Columbia and not the States where his purported crimes occurred.  He has done nothing that could be prosecuted under the Law of the Land, but he has allowed them to prosecute him in other venues and on charges based merely on their opinions and their beliefs.
Now that you can see how they are working these systems of foreign law (both democracy and theocracy) against Americans, you can also see why they feel the need for propaganda and an airtight stranglehold on the media to control public opinion and private belief.
What are you going to do about it?
Inaction is not an option.  Such arbitrary “law” based on public opinion and on private belief only gets worse over time and both the lapses of justice and the abuses of power become more shocking.
Ever wonder how the Antifa and Black Lives Matter protesters were allowed to run all over the place without masks at the height of the so-called Mask Mandates?   Ever wonder how they are allowed to loot stores without consequences?  How about burning down fire stations?  Maiming police officers?  Vandalizing warehouses?
You know, thanks to Mad Cow Disease, that these Municipal Corporation Subcontractors have the ability to track down a single cow born in Canada through numerous sales transactions all the way to a feedlot in Indiana ten years later.  How difficult would it be for them to track down all those who committed crimes during the George Floyd Riots?
It was the opinion (democracy) and belief (theocracy) of the foreign corporations inhabiting the District of Columbia, that these people were entitled to defend themselves against purported “racial injustice” by being allowed to loot and commit arson and vandalism and armed robbery and any other crime they liked.
Problem is, they did these things outside the District of Columbia.
It’s time to liquidate these foreign corporations and take other actions to restore actual law and not merely “the rule of law” or “appearance” of law.
You, Americans, have a choice and a responsibility to make that choice.
I told the Colorado Nine to record and publish their declarations of political status.  They didn’t listen to me.
Last time I had contact with Bruce Doucette, the supposed leader of the Colorado Nine, he was still in some horrible jail facility penned up with murderers and rapists and armed robbers — all violent criminals — when he never harmed a flea.
In their opinion and belief he was as dangerous as Charles Manson.
The bread-and-water conditions under which the January 6th Protesters have been held reflects the same brand of lawlessness on the part of the Municipal Government Subcontractors and the members of their “Congress”.
In their opinion and belief, the January 6th Protesters were there as dangerous Unknown Enemies to overthrow their government and eat them alive, and nobody can say otherwise.
This is because you, Americans, who are owed the Law of the Land, are being wishy-washy and failing to establish your correct political status and failing to man the offices and populate the assemblies of your own government.
You are letting your bought-and-paid for foreign Subcontractors, your own Federal Employees, rule over you and impose their “law” upon you, and as the Boyz at the Vatican will tell you, if you press them hard enough, it’s all your own fault.
The moment you lift your hand as Americans, you are assumed to be acting in insurrection against these foreign governments.
Why?
Because you are misidentified as citizens of these foreign governments, and you are presumed to owe allegiance to these foreign governments.
Any action you take that — in their opinion (democracy) is a threat — or anything that you say against them that may be — in their belief (theocracy) — taken as a threat, counts as insurrection coming from one of their own citizens.
You can’t be charged with insurrection or commit insurrection against a foreign Municipal Corporation, unless you are one of its citizens.
Go to: www.TheAmericanStatesAssembly.net and get papered up today.
I wish nothing but good to every man and woman of goodwill.  I have no reason to lie to you and receive no benefit from doing so — unless you count having a clean conscience.
Q, White Hats, Alliance —-I am telling you right now, in front of God, if you try to substitute a British Territorial entity or other foreign corporation for the American Federal Republic, it will be exposed for what it is, and come to naught.
It’s a simple choice and it’s up to you.
Work with the lawful State Assemblies and their Federation of States dba The United States of America since 1776.  If you want a contract, do it honestly.  Don’t try to foist off a British Territorial substitute for our Federal Republic by guile. Don’t try to substitute yet another foreign corporation for it.
We are aware of all the variations of United States of America, States of America, United States, Unity States, blah-blah-blah that have been incorporated from here to Bangkok.  It’s not going to work.
There’s a right way and a wrong way to do everything in this world. I have just told you the right way to get the job done.  We chartered the Confederation and they incorporated the first Federal Republic; if anyone can replace those organizations, we are the only ones competent to do so.
