‘Ring Of Fire’ Solar Eclipse In Gemini: A Shift In Mindset

We are having a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 10th which peaks at 10:42am Universal Time. It will be an annular eclipse which is when the Moon almost completely blocks out the Sun with the exception of its outer edges. It appears like this because the Moon is near its apogee, which is its furthest distance from the Earth. This type of eclipse is also referred to as a ‘Ring of Fire’ due to it appearing this way.

The full annular eclipse will only be visible from parts of Northern Ontario (Canada), parts of Northern Quebec (Canada), parts of Nunavut (Canada) as well as Northwestern Greenland and a portion of Eastern Russia. It will be seen as a partial eclipse throughout most of Canada (with the exception of Southwestern part), the Northern half of Alaska, most of Eastern USA, parts of North Central USA, Greenland, most of Russia, most of Europe, and parts of Asia closer to Russia. However, from some of these locations the Sun will be barely eclipsed and with a shorter window to see it.

A Solar Eclipse is a much more significant type of New Moon which influences a longer term period then a regular one. This is when it occurs near the Lunar Nodes, which is where the path of the Sun and Moon intersect from our perspective on Earth. This happens every six months, along with Full Moon Lunar Eclipses happening prior or following. In this specific case we had a Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius two weeks before this one. You can read more about that one here.

Both Solar and Lunar Eclipses reflect changes and shifts which affect the following six months and could also influence up to six weeks prior. You may or may not see the effects of it around the time it occurs, but you may feel it and then see it play out in the weeks or months afterwards.

Eclipses are always part of a series that occur in the same opposing signs for 1.5 to 2 years which is where the Lunar Nodes are for most of that period. The positions of the Eclipses and the Lunar Nodes reflect an evolutionary process in how we work with the energies of these signs and pertaining to the areas of our lives being affected (based on our astrological blueprint at the specific time of each of our birth). What results from a series of eclipses in the same signs over these approximately 1.5  to 2 year periods may have longer-term effects beyond the window in which they occur.

North Node Solar Eclipse In Gemini

The shifts reflected by this eclipse are connected to Gemini themes and areas of life, ultimately leading to a revision in how its energies are expressed. It is near the Lunar North Node which in many cases could also indicate changes that have an increasing effect on Gemini expressions.

This process is something that began a year ago and will play out until the end of the year. However, this energy will be the most prominent now, from late Spring to Early Summer. This is because it will be the only Solar Eclipse in Gemini (in this eclipse series) along with its ruler Mercury being retrograde here as well.

Gemini belongs to the Air element which is socially and intellectually oriented. As a Mercurial sign, it is associated with the mind, communication, information, words, writing, facts, curiosity, and commuting. Gemini energy is adaptable, dualistic, agile, versatile, rational, and quick witted yet can also be restless, scattered, duplicitous, overly talkative, and superficial.

Gemini correlates with our local/immediate environment, neighborhood, neighbors, siblings/cousins, communication devices/computers, childhood education, vehicles, and friends/acquaintances from earlier years. Gemini energy is also associated with LGBTQ+ matters as well the different expressions and orientations under that umbrella.

Solar Eclipse Conjunct Mercury Retrograde, Applying Square To Neptune

As mentioned above, Gemini’s ruler Mercury is also retrograde in its own sign of Gemini. What is very interesting is that the halfway point of this (three and a half week) retrograde process will occur hours after this eclipse. This is when Mercury is aligned with the Sun (and the Moon in this case), known as its ‘inferior conjunction’, and is a very significant period of the entire retrograde.

The ‘inferior conjunction’ is a time in which Mercury passes through the heart of the Sun  (from a geocentric perspective) and is symbolically seen as a ‘purification’. In our real world experience, it can be a time of ridding ourselves of certain thoughts, ideas, perceptions, old interests, expectations, or other things that are not serving us while the potential for new ones may be seeded. We may experience important insights that can contribute to this process. Although this technically occurs on June 10th/11th, these themes can also play out in the days surrounding this period.

Considering that this important astronomical event is occurring in the hours following the eclipse, this can suggest that the Mercury retrograde effect of re-calibrating our minds and perception can also be a major part of a longer term astrological backdrop over this following six months that is under the influence of this eclipse. This is a rare occurrence to have both of these happening at the same time, and what’s even more interesting is that it is all happening in Mercury’s home sign of Gemini.

The Sun and Moon in this Solar Eclipse are also moving towards a square with Neptune in Pisces. This can add to the scattering and lack of focus reflective of Gemini and the Sagittarian energy of the previous Lunar eclipse in the same nodal polarity. This can also bring confusion, uncertainty, and deception.

Facts, details, and rational thinking can be in conflict with illusions, fantasy, escapism, and ideals. Issues around lack of boundaries may also be a theme over the coming months. This energy can be good for creative efforts that are mentally or communication oriented, or spiritual practices that involve air such as breathwork and meditation. Some of this can play out around June 13th/14th when the Sun makes an exact square with Neptune.

Saturn In Aquarius Square Uranus In Taurus

This month Saturn in Aquarius is currently in its 2nd exact square with Uranus in Taurus which I have mentioned in previous articles. This started in February when the first square occurred and is present all of this year and somewhat next year. This month, especially from June 8th-20th, will be one of the stronger periods of this energy especially when it peaks around June 14th/15th.

This reflects tension and challenges between Saturn and Uranus themes or expressions. Saturn is traditional, conservative, serious, rational, and cautious. It rules commitments, maturity, responsibilities, limitations, restrictions, the status quo, the established order,  and structures. It is about patience, practicality, discipline, and boundaries.

Uranus is freedom seeking, detached, revolutionary, radical, rebellious, progressive, reforming, idealistic, unconventional, inventive, innovative, futuristic, and scientific. It represents new technology, discoveries, surprises, disruptions, and separations.

This configuration can play out as ‘old versus new’, ‘restrictions versus freedom’, ‘the status quo versus revolution’, ‘commitments/responsibilities versus liberation’, ‘elder versus youth’, ‘progressiveness versus tradition’ and so forth. This can also be a time of integrating Saturn and Uranus such as applying new, technological, scientific, or metaphysical approaches to help us with our work.

In some cases we can express a certain mix of combined Saturn-Uranus themes and be at odds with a different mix of these energies. Depending on the variables, this can potentially lead to contradictions or hypocrisy.

Venus ‘Out Of Bounds’, Square Chiron & Sextile Uranus

Venus, the planet of love, relationships, friends, social life, values, money, beauty, art, and aesthetics, went ‘out of bounds’ on May 23/24th which will last until June 17th/18th. This when a planet moves outside of the boundaries in the sky which the Sun travels from our perspective on Earth. This is about exploring new territory as well as going outside of our usual limitations and conventional ways of doing things in regards to how we approach Venus areas of life. This can also reflect seeing things objectively and from a different perspective.

At the time of this eclipse, Venus in Cancer is moving towards a square with Chiron in Aries which will be exact on June 12th/13th. This can bring up wounds, blockages, negative patterns, or can reflect themes around healing, holistic perception, or perhaps solutions when it comes to love, friendships, pleasures, values, or monetary issues. In some cases these themes may be tied into family matters, security, or emotional needs being at odds with our individuality and personal needs.

Venus is also in a sextile with Uranus in Taurus which can bring a new, stimulating, unusual, exciting, inspiring, liberating, unexpected, or unique energy around our relations with others.  This can also reflect surprises, positive changes, or freeing type of developments around financial matters.

In some cases it can be good for exploring new ways of making money that can be innovative, online, metaphysical, or technologically oriented. This will be strongest on June 13th/14th but it’s possible that our experiences of both this Venus-Uranus configuration and the Venus-Chiron one mentioned above may be intertwined.

Things To Consider

Is there something that you need to shift when it comes to your mindset? Do any of your perceptions, thoughts, ideas, or approaches to communication need to be revised? What has been coming up for you that can be contributing to this process? Is there anything that you need to change or adjust when it comes to your relationship with neighbors, close friends, siblings, or extended family? Are your sources of information reliable, factual, and rational? Do you need to look at things more objectively?

These are just some examples of themes that could come up during this period and over the coming months; however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  This isn’t a time to necessarily set intentions but instead to embrace the evolutionary process that eclipses facilitate. It will peak and reach its maximum eclipse at 10:42am Universal Time on June 10th while it will begin and finish approximately two and a half hours before and after. The exact moment of the New Moon will be 10:53am Universal Time. You can click here to see when the peak is in your time zone.

Mercury Retrograde In Gemini: Cognitive Recalibration

Mercury begins another retrograde process on May 29th/30th which will last until June 22nd/23rd. This is when it appears to be moving backwards from our Earth based vantage point due to the positioning of the Earth and Mercury in each of their orbits around the Sun. This one is occurring completely in Gemini.

In the weeks (and especially days) leading up to it, it can already start to feel like a retrograde and some of its themes can get seeded. This happens because Mercury slows down (again from our vantage point) and travels in the part of the sky it will be returning to after the retrograde begins. This is known as the ‘pre-shadow’ period which began on May 14th/15th.

If you have read my previous Mercury Retrograde articles, the remainder of this section and the following one are nearly the same. You can skip to the third section and beyond if you don’t want to re-read all the general themes associated with these periods. Those other parts are more specific to this edition of it.

Mercury retrograde is known for the problematic effects it often has on communication technology, transactions, motor vehicles, anything with moving parts, and commuting in general. Some people even get headaches near the beginning of it. We could experience some challenges, misunderstandings, and errors around our communications, numbers/details, and commerce, as well as changes, cancellations, or delays in our schedules.

Sometimes these issues could occur when we are excessively analytical without tuning into our internal guidance. Depending on how we flow with it and other variables, we may not always experience these surface level inconveniences, or they could just be minor irritants.

Mercury Retrograde can also be a good time to revisit or redo tasks, projects, ideas, or anything else that was initiated in the past. It can give us a different perspective or shift in thinking that can help us to approach these things in ways we wouldn’t have done before. This may also be a period of reconnecting with old friends, family, lovers, or others we haven’t seen in a while. When we reconnect with people during a retrograde, it sometimes can help to facilitate a shift in the relationship. In some cases, issues from the past can come up which may need to be hashed out.

The Deeper Purpose of Mercury Retrograde

Ultimately, Mercury Retrograde is a time for us to recalibrate and adjust specific areas of our lives as well as how we apply our minds towards these issues. It is a period in which we may receive important insights and see things in a new light. In most cases, it can be mildly transformational, but in some cases it can facilitate more major transformations depending on how it corresponds to your personal astrological chart.

During and following the retrograde, certain areas of our lives can go through changes or shifts, or we can experience a re-orientation of some sort which influences how we proceed over the coming months or in some cases, it can have a more long-term significance. In the three weeks afterwards, known as the ‘post-shadow’ period, we move forward with some sort of new awareness, adjustment, as well as new ideas and thoughts that have been seeded which will develop and become more defined as time progresses.

Certain things that have come up specifically in the weeks leading up to the start of the retrograde could determine where this energy could play out. It is also possible that there could have been changes or developments at that time which may go through a sorting-out process or shift in dynamics during the actual retrograde and in the two weeks following. There could be unknown variables, either positive or negative, that were either unseen or hadn’t been conceived yet, which may become apparent over the coming month.

The sign(s) and element(s) in which Mercury retrograde travels in shows the energy we are re-orienting ourselves with. More importantly, if you are familiar with your natal astrology chart, then your house(s) or any planetary placements being affected will show more specifically which areas of life you will be experiencing its energy in. For the astrologically literate, it begins at 24’43 degrees of Germini and will retrograde back to 16’08 degrees of the same sign before turning forward again.

Occurring in Gemini, The Second of a Series Primarily in Air Signs

Mercury Retrograde always happens in primarily one element for 1-2 years. This is the second of a series that is mainly occurring in Air signs which will last until Fall 2022. The first one was in January-February in Aquarius. The Air element is about intellect, objectivity, the mind, communication, and social aspects of life. This period is about re-aligning ourselves with these qualities if necessary and ultimately expressing them in new or revamped ways.

With this retrograde in Gemini, we may also experience or apply re-orientations, adjustments, developments, circumstances, or reflect on themes connected to information, facts, different viewpoints, writing, commuting, siblings/cousins, close friendships, relations from earlier years of our lives, early childhood education, neighbors/neighborhood, and our immediate environment. LGBTQ+ matters and the expression of these orientations are also associated with Gemini (and Aquarius).

Gemini energy is multifaceted, adaptable, and chameleon-like. It is the sign of multiple personalities, duality, and represents different expressions of self that are quite different from each other. In some cases it could be opposite or contradictory, or at least seem like that to those looking in from the outside. These qualities can be positive or negative depending on your viewpoint and the variables involved, but this energy can also play out as behavior that is duplicitous, two faced, and deceptive.

Gemini is one of the signs that Mercury rules and is its zodiacal home. I believe that retrogrades in this sign can be more collectively significant in comparison to when it is in other signs. It is not only a recalibration of the energies of the sign, but a longer term recalibration of Mercury itself. This can be a great time for a major shift in mindset. There is also another factor specific to this retrograde that could imply this which is covered later in the article. Mercury also rules Virgo, but I view Gemini as more of its home due to its Air quality and more overlapping associations with this sign.

In medical astrology, both Gemini and Mercury are associated with the brain, hands, and the nervous system. Gemini is also connected to arms, shoulders, lungs, and the action of walking. Some people may experience issues pertaining to, or the need to address, these areas during or weeks prior to the retrograde.

Mercury Retrograde Significant Dates

Below are some of the dates and information for some of the major astrological configurations during this retrograde.

*The dates below are based on the Americas. The further East you are located, you may need to consider it as the next day.

May 29th/30th Mercury Retrograde Begins May 29th at 10:33pm Universal Time. Separating From a Conjunction With Venus, Moon Conjunct Pluto In Capricorn

The common Mercury retrograde themes and complications may come up strongly at this time and in recent days leading up to this as it has been nearly stopped in stationary position. You may get some sort of indication of how it may be playing out for you over the next month based on how you feel or what transpires. It’s possible that certain things that happen at this time, which may seem insignificant, can somehow be connected to how this retrograde process will affect you. Also keep in mind that the pre-retrograde shadow began May 14th/15th and it entered Gemini on May 3rd/4th, so certain situations that have started since then will also be a factor in how things play out over the upcoming month.

Mercury forms a conjunction with Venus while it is stationary, hours before going retrograde. Themes connected to friends, love, pleasures, values, money, aesthetics, nice material things, art, and social dynamics may be a big factor in how this process kickstarts for you.

The Moon is in a conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn as the retrograde begins. On this day the energy can be a bit heavy. Issues, circumstances, or developments, connected to hidden matters, secrets, fears, power dynamics, manipulation, jealousy, abuse, darkness, the underworld, shadows, taboos, wealth, sex, purging, transformation, or empowerment may come up. Although this energy will be mainly present on this day, these are also themes that can affect the entire retrograde process.

We had a Lunar Eclipse on May 26th and a Solar Eclipse coming up on June 10th, the energies of these eclipses are also tied into this retrograde. You can read more about the recent eclipse here and stay tuned for my next article on the upcoming one.

May 31st/June 1st Sun conjunct North Node In Gemini

Certain developments that play out at this time can be connected to our future and we are headed. This can happen through our social interactions or certain actions we are taking. What is the universe trying to show to help you grow and move forward in life?

June 3rd/4th Sun Trine Saturn, Venus Trine Jupiter

This is one of the better periods of this retrograde. The Sun in Gemini in a trine with Saturn in Aquarius brings an energy that is stable, productive, mature, responsible, realistic and steady. This can be good if we are applying ourselves towards something that we are building that we want to be lasting. But keep in mind, Mercury is retrograde and in the middle of eclipse season, so it’s usually not good to initiate anything new but it can be good to work towards things that have already been put in motion prior to this period.

Venus in Cancer is also in a trine with Jupiter in Pisces which can be socially or romantically expansive and optimistic. Our relations can be a source of learning and gaining perspective. Connecting with others on an emotional level can also be a factor. Generosity and/or luck may be experienced or expressed on this day and some people can benefit financially under this sky. This can be good for any media or marketing efforts around art, aesthetics, or social endeavors.

June 4th-6th Mercury Square Neptune, Mars Opposite Pluto (with Moon triggering t-square)

Under the influence of Mercury square Neptune, we are more prone to deception, confusion, scatteredness, flaky behavior, mistakes, and miscommunications. Under this sky, it can be easier to overlook details and facts. We may feel like escaping reality or avoiding things, and our perception can be unrealistic. In some cases there can be issues or problems with water. The common Mercury Retrograde complications have more potential during this period.

Mars is also in opposition with Pluto at this time. This can be intense and may experience power struggles. Conflicts or issues may come up around control, obsessions, secrets, or other things being revealed. We can feel more forceful, compulsive, and aggressive. At best, this energy can be passionate, highly sexual, and can also be good for taking action towards making necessary changes or some sort of purging.

June 9th-11th Annular Solar Eclipse In Gemini with Mercury’s Inferior Conjunction

This Mercury Retrograde is very interesting because the halfway point of it will occur on the same day as a Solar Eclipse. This is when Mercury forms a conjunction with the Sun, known as an ‘inferior conjunction’, and is a major period of the retrograde process and potentially a time of important insights. The themes or circumstances pertaining to how this retrograde is affecting you may come up more so during this period.

For some people, complications and frustrations can also be stronger during this conjunction depending on your circumstances or how you are applying yourself. Ultimately things that happen is part of a process of ridding yourself of certain thoughts, ideas, perceptions, old interests, expectations, or other things that are not serving you while the potential for new ones may be seeded.

Considering that this is occurring in the hours following the eclipse, this can suggest that the Mercury retrograde effect of recalibrating our minds and perception can also be a part of a longer term astrological backdrop from now until the next eclipse season in November.

This is a rare occurrence to have both of these happening at the same time, and what’s even more interesting is that it is all happening in Mercury’s home sign of Gemini. As mentioned earlier in this article, this retrograde is much more collectively significant then previous ones in recent history.

I will be writing a separate article on this eclipse, join my mailing list here to ensure that you receive it.

June 14th/15th (June 8th-20th) Saturn Square Uranus (2nd Perfection)

Throughout this retrograde, Saturn in Aquarius is in a square with Uranus in Taurus which will be exact for the second time this year on June 14th/15th. This actually began in February when they made their first square during the previous Mercury Retrograde (in Aquarius) and it has been a part of the astrological backdrop since then. This will continue throughout this year and somewhat next year. However this energy will be in one of its stronger periods between June 8th – 20th

However this energy plays out, it will somehow play a role in the adjustments occurring reflected by the Mercury retrograde process.

In some cases we can express a certain mix of combined Saturn-Uranus themes and be at odds with a different mix of these energies. Depending on the variables, this can potentially lead to contradictions or hypocrisy.

June 22nd/23rd Mercury Stationary Direct, Moon Conjunct South Node, Sun Trine Jupiter, Venus Opposite Pluto

Mercury will go stationary on June 22nd/23rd and will slowly begin to move forward and gradually pick up speed in the following days and weeks. As this happens, the areas of our lives that have been affected by this retrograde will start to become more increasingly clear, things will fall into place more easily, and we may experience resolutions depending on how it affected you. We can feel that we are in a better place to move forward in the areas of life that have been impacted and pertaining to how Gemini themes played out for you.

However, usually the first few days after it ends can still feel like it is retrograde as complications may occur due to Mercury’s stationary position. It’s usually best to wait until at least 3 days afterwards before finalizing decisions, agreements, etc.

As Mercury is transitioning in motion on June 22nd/23rd, the Moon will be in Sagittarius approaching the Lunar South Node. This aspect echoes themes of the recent Lunar Eclipse. We may also experience some sort of release or the need to let go of an old behavior, pattern, or other issues, circumstances, or relationships (or its dynamics) no longer serving us. Things connected to the past may come up to help facilitate this process.

Also at this time and during the next day, the Sun will be in a trine with Jupiter and Venus will be opposite Pluto. With the Sun in Cancer trine Jupiter in Pisces, we may feel optimistic and in some cases lucky. This can be good for developments or activities that are educational, expansive, philosophical, connected to media/marketing, travel related, or pertaining to morals. Generosity and compassion can also be expressed or experienced.

However, Venus in Cancer in opposition to Pluto can also reflect challenges depending on other variables specific to you. This can be emotionally or sexually intense. It can play out as conflicts around power dynamics, fears, jealousy, compulsive behavior, or some sort of revealing in our relations with others. Repressed issues can come to the surface and deep feelings may get expressed. In some cases, problems or issues pertaining to money might be a theme. If there are these or other types of challenges, there is also the possibility for a positive or hopeful resolution considering the Sun trine Jupiter aspect. This can also be a time of powerful desires.

Nearly six weeks later on August 1st/2nd and/or in the days following, there may be even more clarity around certain things that have been seeded or occurred during this specific retrograde. From there, things may develop even further with a better perception, or alternatively circumstances and developments may indicate lack of sufficiency, not what was anticipated, the need to shift gears, or that something needs to change.

Total Lunar Eclipse In Sagittarius: Contemplating Beliefs & Opinions

We are having a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius on May 26th which is peaking at 11:18am Universal Time. It will be a ‘Total’ Eclipse which is commonly referred to as a ‘Blood Moon’ as it will appear red. It will also be a ‘Super Moon’ which is when the Moon is near its closest point to the Earth and therefore appearing larger.

This eclipse will be visible (weather permitting) wherever it will be dark in part or all of its duration. This includes most of the Americas, half of Asia, and Oceania. However, its totality will only be visible from the Western half of North America (including Hawaii), some parts of South America, the far East of Asia, as well as Australia, New Zealand and all the islands in between.

This is the first of two eclipses occurring back to back, with this one followed by a Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 10th. These are part of a series of eclipses in the Gemini-Sagittarius axis that began in the spring of 2020 and will conclude in the end of 2021. (Join my mailing list here to receive my future eclipse articles and other content.)

Eclipses reflect evolutionary changes in specific areas of our lives which can play out over the following 6 months and can begin up to 6 weeks prior. However, they are also part of a 1.5-2 year process in which the Lunar Nodes and most Eclipses are in the same signs. The changes that occur are connected to the sign they are in, the planets they are configured to, and how this all lines up with our individual astrological blueprints (natal chart).

South Node Lunar Eclipse In Sagittarius Opposite Sun In Gemini

This eclipse puts an emphasis on Sagittarius which is where the South Node is. This indicates changes and developments associated with this sign that can have a decreasing effect in how its themes are expressed. However, negative expressions of this sign can also come up more so to bring it to our attention and to facilitate some sort of change. In this situation, Sagittarius energies and aspects of life can be more constructive when they are expressed in harmony with a Gemini emphasis.

Sagittarius is associated with beliefs, philosophies, religion, idealism, morals, righteousness, travel, exploration, expansion, optimism, and perspectives based on experience. It is associated with media, marketing, and education. Sagittarius energy can be excessive, blunt, egotistical, argumentative, judgemental, fanatical, opinionated, preachy, unrealistic, disregarding of consequences, and have a ‘know-it-all’ complex.

This Full Moon Eclipse is opposite the Sun in Gemini which is where the North Node is. There is an emphasis on increase and growth around the themes/energies of this sign. Gemini is associated with facts, communication, articulation, learning, different viewpoints, neighbors, neighborhood, close friends, siblings, extended family, as well as our local and immediate surroundings.

Sagittarius expressions will work best within a balance in which it serves the interests of Gemini. For example, some people may find that their immediate experiences are at odds with their beliefs and therefore this should help to reshape one’s perspective if we are working with this constructively. There are other ways this can play out in the areas of life mentioned above.

Lunar Eclipse Square Jupiter, Trine Chiron, & Sextile Stationary Saturn

This Lunar Eclipse is in a T-square with Jupiter which has recently entered Pisces, one of its home signs. Considering Jupiter is also the ruler of Sagittarius, this can emphasize many of the themes mentioned above. With it being the focal planet as part of a T-square with the Sun and Moon, it could also offer solutions to these luminaries’ opposition within the Gemini-Sagittarius axis.

Pisces themes such as compassion, oneness, sympathy, empathy, sensitivity, creativity, and spirituality can help to overcome negative qualities of Sagittarius and for the polarity to work in harmony. However, this aspect can also play out as overextending ourselves as well as issues with boundaries or blind spots.

This eclipse is also in a trine with Chiron in Aries. Themes of healing, personal development, holistic perception, problem solving, and bridging fragmented areas of life or expressions of ourselves may come up. We can experience developments or circumstances that trigger old wounds, negative patterns, or behaviours rooted in the lack of holism, which can ultimately help us to release or change our relationships with these things getting in the way of our growth. This energy can come up from June 1st to 3rd when it is triggered by the Sun but is still part of the backdrop for months to come.

The Sun and Moon are also applying a supportive aspect with Saturn in Aquarius. Although the energies of this eclipse can be scattering considering the mutable signs of Gemini and Sagittarius in a square with Jupiter, this Saturn aspect can help to mitigate some of that. It can also bring a level of realism and responsibility to the equation. This will be strong from June 2nd-4th when the Sun is trine Saturn.

Venus Square Neptune, Conjunct Stationary Mercury, Trine Jupiter

During this eclipse and in the days following, Venus in Gemini is in a square with Neptune in Pisces. This can reflect confusion, lack of boundaries, delusion, deception, or flakiness when it comes to friendships, matters of love, or finances. The potential for escapism and avoiding work is also high at this time. This can be great for any creative or artistic pursuits  that don’t require any sort of precision or specific expectations.

Venus then makes a conjunction to Mercury on May 28th/29th which will be going retrograde less than a day later. Pleasant social communications, touching base with friends, or perhaps even old lovers can be a factor at this time. However, with Mercury about to be going retrograde it’s possible that certain interactions at this time may contribute to the shifts you may experience over the following month. I will be writing a separate article on this Mercury retrograde, so stay tuned for that. (Join my mailing list here to get notified when my articles are published.)

Venus will then enter Cancer and be in a trine with Jupiter in Pisces on June 3rd/4th which will be around the same time the Sun is in a trine with Saturn as mentioned earlier. This can be socially or romantically expansive and optimistic. Our relations can be a source of learning and gaining perspective. Generosity and/or luck may be experienced or expressed on this day and some people can benefit financially under this sky. This can be good for any media or marketing efforts around art, aesthetics, or social endeavors.

Mars Trine Neptune, Then Opposite Pluto

Mars in Cancer is moving towards a trine with Neptune which is strongest from May 30th to June 1st. This is good for actions that require us to flow without rigidity, which is also recommended considering Mercury’s positioning at that time. Asserting ourselves in a creative, artistic, spiritual, inspired, or intuitive way can be a theme. Sexually, this period can be magical. This can also be good for activities that involve water.

Mars then moves towards an opposition with Pluto in Capricorn which will peak from June 4th-6th. This aspect can be intense and we may experience power struggles. Conflicts or issues may come up around control, obsessions, secrets, or other things being revealed. We can feel more forceful and aggressive. At best, this energy can be passionate, highly sexual, and can also be good for taking action towards making necessary changes or purging.

Things To Consider

What has been coming up for you regarding your beliefs and are they in conflict with certain facts or real life experiences? What have you overlooked and what are your blind spots? Do you express judgements or opinions in ways that are doing more harm than good? Are there areas of life or perspectives you hold that you are being unrealistic about? Do you have any excessive behaviors that need to be addressed and do you need to be more disciplined? What do you need to change or release to help you be more whole and a better version of yourself?

These are just some examples of what can be playing out for you but not limited to these either. Keep in mind that the themes of this specific eclipse will play out until the Fall. It is best to try to tune into this energy as it happens and pay attention to your feelings to help you in decisions you need to make in the future.

After the Moon begins the wane following the peak, and during the following two weeks, can be a good time to initiate any sort of releasing process if you feel necessary. The eclipse process begins at 8:47am Universal Time on May 26th with it peaking at 11:18am and finishing at 1:49pm.. The Moon begins to wane after 7:14am Universal Time. You can click here to see when the peak will be in your time zone.

New Moon In Taurus: Steady & Serene

We are having a New Moon in Taurus on May 11th in most of the world and in the morning hours of the 12th everywhere east of the Middle East. This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle and new wave of energy for the coming month; however, the astrological configurations mentioned throughout this article will be more prominent over the following two weeks.

We are approaching eclipse season as we are having Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius in this same Lunar Cycle, a few weeks after this New Moon. This will be followed by a Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 10th. Eclipses can reflect shifts and evolutionary developments pertaining to the sign it is in and in the specific areas of our lives based on our individual astrological blueprints.

The effects of eclipses don’t always fully play out when they are occurring although you may experience things connected to them on these dates or in the weeks before and after. In this case Mercury will also be going retrograde in Gemini at the end of May which is the same sign as one of the eclipses. This can also highlight significant adjustments and shifts pertaining to Gemini energy playing out in the period between late May to mid-July. I will be writing separate articles on these Eclipses and Mercury Retrograde, you can join my mailing list here to ensure that you receive them.

New Moon In Taurus

Although Taurus season began on April 19th/20th, this New Moon emphasizes its energy even more so. Ruled by Venus, it is associated with values, sensuality, beauty, worth, money, possessions, food, and pleasures of life. As an Earth sign, it is practical, realistic, and very much invested in the physical world.

Taurus is one of four fixed signs with the others being Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, which are all the middle signs of each quarterly season. However, being an Earth Fixed sign, it is as fixed as it gets. It is slow, steady, solid, grounded, routine oriented, and thorough.

Taurus is also associated with nature and it is very fitting and reflective for Earth Day to occur during this time. It is the second sign of the zodiac and therefore is more self-oriented as is all the earlier signs. Negatively, Taurus can be too rigid, lazy, habitual, overly self-indulgent, greedy, possessive, stubborn, materialistic, and very slow.

New Moon Sextile Neptune, Trine Pluto, & Square Jupiter

This New Moon is in a tight sextile with Neptune in Pisces. Although this isn’t a very strong type of aspect, this brings an energy that can be spiritual, compassionate, creative, and soothing. It can trigger intuition and inspiration. With the Taurus influence, it can be a ‘chilled out’ combination. This energy will be more present from the New Moon until May 13th.

The New Moon is also in a trine with Pluto in Capricorn which will be strongest on May 16th/17th. We may feel more determined, strategic, or resourceful. Some people may feel empowered or experience financial benefits. This can also be good for uncovering things, making positive changes, and emphasizing what’s important and real.

The furthest applying aspect to this New Moon is a square with Jupiter which will be strongest from May 19th-21st (and somewhat on the 22nd in the countries furthest East). Although this can feel expansive, we can more easily overextend ourselves, get scattered, have blind spots, and be excessive. However if we stay focused and cautious, this energy can be great for learning and education.

Mars Sextile Uranus & Square Chiron, Mercury Trine Saturn

Mars in Cancer is in a very tight sextile with Uranus and square with Chiron at the time of this New Moon. This can be good for applying ourselves in a new, unusual, experimental, stimulating, progressive, technological, rebellious, healing, or liberating way. Issues or conflicts around blockages, wounds, negative patterns, anger, sexuality, or holism can come up.

On May 12th/13th, Mercury in Gemini will be in an exact trine with Saturn in Aquarius. This is good for practical, disciplined, and realistic thinking. Discussions or thoughts may involve long term goals, commitments, or what we are building towards. This can also reflect putting things or structures in place that involve communication or delivery of information.

Jupiter Going Into Pisces, Mercury Entering Pre-Retrograde Shadow Period

Jupiter had recently gone into Aquarius in December and has been quickly making its way towards entering Pisces on May 13th/14th. It later returns to Aquarius this summer after it goes retrograde, and then re-enters Pisces late December of this year. We are going to be getting a taste of Jupiter in Pisces until July 28th, yet will still be somewhat of a mix of Pisces/Aquarius until the end of the year.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth, learning, beliefs, exploration, travel, abundance and therefore it will affect Piscean areas and qualities in those ways. Pisces is associated with spirituality, mysticism, retreats, compassion, energy healing, psychedelics, dreams, creativity, divine inspiration, imagination, idealism, and psychic abilities. It is also associated with escapism, intoxication, delusion, disease, and lack of boundaries. Jupiter can have an excessive effect as well when it comes to these Piscean expressions.

Pisces is one of Jupiter’s homes as it is the traditional ruler of this sign. It gets to express itself in ways that it wants to and is more free and limitless in the eternal sign of Pisces. Since late 2019 Jupiter has been in Saturn ruled signs with Saturn also present which has been very restricting for a boundless planet.

This will be a big shift for Jupiter, but keep in mind that this is a just taste. It will still be returning to Aquarius which is traditionally Saturn ruled with Saturn also present there. From now until the end of the year it will be like Jupiter is having one foot in each sign, however, once it re-enters Pisces in late December, it will be more free from the restrictive Saturnian domain.

Mercury is going retrograde at the end of the month and will be entering its pre-retrograde shadow phase on May 14th/15th. It entered Gemini, the sign it will be retrograde in, on May 4th/5th. Some of the things that have been coming up recently, and especially after mid-May, will contribute to a process of adjustments and shifts that will occur in June and July.

As we get closer towards the end of May, Mercury will be slowing down and the complications that Mercury retrograde is known for can occur before it actually changes motion. I will be writing a separate article on this, join my mailing list here to ensure that you receive it.

Taurus Ruler Venus Conjunct North Node, Sextile Chiron, & Trine Saturn

Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is moving towards a conjunction with the Lunar North Node in Gemini and a sextile with Chiron which will be exact from May 17th-18th. New relations, or developments around past relations, could have a fated quality that can bring growth and help us to move forward in a better or constructive way.

Our perception or approach to Venus ruled areas, such as relationships, values, finances, art, may evolve in a helpful manner. It can also reflect healing, expressions of wholeness, bridging, integration, or solutions around Venus areas or connected to communication with others.

Following this aspect, Venus will then be in a trine with Saturn which is exact on May 19th/20th, but may be felt in the days prior as well. This can reflect commitments, practical approaches, discipline, structure, constructive efforts,  or some sort of stabilization pertaining to friends, lovers, financial matters, artistic endeavours, or things that are aesthetically related.

Making Intentions & Things To Consider

Is there anything that you are currently doing that requires you to be more practical or thorough? Do you need to incorporate some sort of routine or structure? Are there aspects of your diet that you need to change? Is there anything that you’d like to experiment or take new approaches with? How can you be more proactive when it comes to healing or addressing personal blockages? How can you make your life more beautiful? Are you spending enough time in nature? What ways do you feel are best for you to grow spiritually?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time. However, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. The exact moment it will occur is 7:00pm Universal Time on May 11th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Super Moon In Scorpio: Realism & Depth

We are having a Full Moon in Scorpio on April 26th/27th, which will appear the brightest on the night of the 26th for the majority of the world and on the night of the 27th in the countries furthest East. This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon in Aries on April 11th/12th. It will also be a ‘Supermoon’, which is when the Moon appears larger and brighter due to its closer proximity to the Earth.

The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations also play a part over the following two weeks. You may start to see its themes slowly build up after the New Moon prior.

They are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Scorpio and the Sun in Taurus. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Scorpio side and others expressing the Taurus side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Sun In Taurus Opposite Moon In Scorpio

Taurus season began on April 19th/20th and will last until May 20th/21st. It is about practicality, thoroughness, pleasures, food, possessions, beauty, and nature. It is a sensual, tangible, and grounded energy. As a ‘Fixed Earth’ sign, it is like a rock, and is the most invested in the physical/material world in comparison to the rest of the signs. It can also be slow, rigid, habitual, and lazy.

This Full Moon is in its opposite sign of Scorpio, triggering a push-pull or integration effect between both of these signs. Scorpio energy is deep, complex, investigative, passionate, intuitive, driven, powerful, calculated, observant, primal, purging, regenerating, transformational, mysterious, intense, desiring, and sexual. It is associated with fears, shadows, death, secrets, hidden matters, conspiracies, and the extremes of Love and Hate. Scorpio energy can also be controlling, obsessive, jealous, aggressive, savage, vengeful, and manipulative.

While Taurus is more concerned about what is tangible, pleasant, and what’s on the surface, Scorpio likes to dive deep even if it gets ugly, scary, or uncomfortable. Both signs are associated with money, resources, values, and worth; with Taurus’ expression of these things being more ‘self-oriented’ and Scorpio being more ‘relationship/shared oriented.’ Scorpio is associated with taxes, debt, credit, investments, inheritance, which all include more then one party to be involved. Both signs also share qualities of being loyal, stubborn, and possessive.

Pluto Is Stationary, Going Retrograde Shortly After Full Moon

Pluto is going retrograde less than 12 hours following the peak of this Full Moon. It is nearly stopped in the sky (from our geocentric perspective) which is referred to as being ‘stationary’, as it transitions from moving forward to backward. Whenever a planet is in the process of changing motion, its energies become very strong and concentrated. This has been building up in the weeks prior to this Full Moon and will wane in the weeks following.

Some astrologers observe Pluto as the ruler of Scorpio and I personally view it as a sub-ruler or representative of Scorpio energy. Therefore having it stationary at this time amplifies the themes of that sign, mentioned in the above section. This can also be a time of changes pertaining to these themes or perhaps to do with power dynamics, control, hidden matters, obsessions, or things involving sexuality.

Pluto also rules fears, viruses, psychoanalysis, and shadows. The combination of this Scorpio Full Moon combined with Pluto stationary retrograde can be good for initiating a process of deep inner healing, purging, release, or transformation.

Full Moon Part of a T-Square With Saturn, Uranus, Venus, and Mercury

In February, Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus made their first of three exact squares with each other, which will be followed by another in June and the final one in December. However, this energy will be an important part of the astrological backdrop throughout all of 2021 and somewhat in 2022 as they will still be close.

This Full Moon will be triggering this aspect as the Sun will be close to Uranus and this along with the Moon will be in a T-square with Saturn. Saturn themes of restrictions, limitations, tradition, caution, contraction, structure, responsibilities, delays, seriousness, are at odds with Uranus themes of freedom, surprises, progressiveness, rebellion, innovation, science, technology, and metaphysics.

Mercury and Venus are also in Taurus ahead of the Sun in which the Moon will also be opposing and tying in all of these planets together. This configuration can play out as struggles, complications, or restrictions between emotional needs, social life, relationship dynamics, sexual matters, communication, shared values, financial matters, and other ways as well. However, with Saturn serving as the apex of this t-square it could also point to a solution that involves responsibility, discipline, structure, caution, or implementing boundaries.

Things To Consider

Are there any aspects of your life calling for transformation? What do you need to purge? Do you feel like you need to do some shadow work or psychoanalysis? What makes you fearful and why? In what ways do you need to be more responsible, disciplined, structured or cautious? Do you have any attachments or habits getting in the way of feeling free or being your best self? Do you have any financial matters that need to be addressed?

Scorpio Full Moons, and the weeks following during the waning moon, are a great time to initiate different types of cleansing. It can be cleansing of the physical body, clearing/overcoming negative patterns or habits, or purging aspects of our external environment. Scorpio is associated with the colon, excretory system, and reproductive areas of the body, so it can also be good to approach healing modalities connected to those areas.

These are just some examples of themes that could come up or ways to approach this period; however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release, it is best to do so after it begins to wane following the peak or during the two weeks afterwards when it is waning before the next New Moon. The exact peak of this Full Moon is at 3:32am Universal Time on April 27th which is the night of the 26th in much of the world. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

New Moon In Aries: Taking Bold Action

We are having a New Moon in Aries during the later hours of April 11th in the Americas and on the 12th everywhere else in the world. This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle and new wave of energy for the coming month; however, the astrological configurations mentioned throughout this article will be more prominent over the following two weeks. This cycle will include a Full Moon in Scorpio on April 26th/27th.

Aries season began at the Equinox (on March 20th globally this year) as it always does, as per the framework of the Tropical Zodiac. Being the first of twelve signs, and initiator of a transitional season, it begins the Astrological New Year. However with this New Moon actually occurring in Aries as well, it will crank up the energies of this sign even more so in comparison to the previous weeks that were initiated by a New Moon in Pisces.

Aries is the domain of self, independence, and individual needs. As a Cardinal Fire sign ruled by Mars, it is assertive, courageous, direct, pioneering, and leading. It is initiating, quick, bold, energetic, and warrior-like. Negatively, this energy can be inconsiderate, selfish,  hot tempered, combative, restless, impatient, aggressive, and overly competitive. Aries lacks thoroughness due to its quick forward energy. .

New Moon Conjunct Mercury & Venus In Aries

This New Moon is close to both Mercury and Venus. This can reflect a period in which our social interactions and engagement with others can be more lively. Both Mercury and Aries have a busy moving type of energy and we may feel more active, physically and/or mentally, as a result.

The conjunction of both of these planets with this New Moon also means it is tied into cycles that each of those planets have with the Sun. Venus recently joined the Sun in the last week of March and it is now travelling ahead of it in zodiacal position.

In recent weeks this has been a time in which we experienced shifts, developments, endings, beginnings, or more clarity around Venus areas of friends, love, social dynamics, values, worth, or financial matters in some cases. This New Moon and the weeks following can continue this process, especially when it comes to beginnings or newer ways of expressing ourselves in these areas.

Mercury is now approaching the Sun as they will make their conjunction on April 18th/19th. At that time we may experience developments, which may be significant, connected to what has transpired during its previous retrograde in February and how things have unfolded since then. From there, these things may develop further with a better perception, or circumstances may indicate lack of sufficiency, not what was anticipated, or that something needs to change.

Planets In Aries Square Pluto & Sextile Mars Trine Jupiter

This New Moon, along with Venus and Mercury, are in a square with Pluto and sextile with Mars and Jupiter. Pluto combined with Aries and Mars energy can reflect a period of intensity. However, it can also play out as issues around power, control, manipulation, jealousy, insubordination, or subversion.  It can also be revealing, psychological, compulsive, transforming, and purging.

The sextile with Mars in Gemini adds to the lively, assertive, instinctual, and energetic expressions of Aries. The Aries’ planets sextile to Jupiter, which is also trine Mars, can be good for applying ourselves in a way that is expansive, optimistic, educational, philosophical, explorative, freedom seeking, or centered around beliefs. New doors may open up and it can even be lucky for some people.

Uranus square Saturn (mentioned here in a previous article) is still in the backdrop as it will be throughout the year. Although it’s not in one of its strong periods, themes of ‘freedom/rebellion/revolution being at odds restrictions/limitations/traditions are still playing out. This may get activated in different ways by this new lunar cycle and the Aries energy that has already been present over the previous weeks following the Astrological New Year.

Making Intentions & Things To Consider

How would you like to grow and expand and what do you need to change to get there? In what areas do you need to be more bold or courageous? What have your relationships shown you in recent weeks? What is important for your individuality? What are your personal needs? What do you stand for and should you be fighting for it? Do you need to be a leader in any aspects of your life? Are there any new things that you want to explore?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time. However, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. The exact moment it will occur is 2:31am Universal Time on April 12th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Full Moon In Libra: Relationship Transitions

We are having a Full Moon in Libra on March 28th/29th, which will appear the brightest on the night of the 28th for the majority of the world except for Western North America in which it will appear brighter the next night.  This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon In Pisces on March 13th. The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations also play a part over the following two weeks. You may start to see its themes slowly build up after the New Moon prior.

Full Moons are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Libra and the Sun in Aries. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Libra side and others expressing the Aries side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Aries season began on March 20th and will last until April 19th/20th when the Sun goes into Taurus. Aries is a self oriented and active Fire sign ruled by Mars. It is associated with independence, individual needs, leading, and pioneering. It is assertive, initiating, instinctual, direct, quick, bold, competitive, and courageous. Negatively, it can be too aggressive, impulsive, impatient, selfish, hot-tempered, combative, and restless.

The Full Moon highlights and brings the energies of the opposing sign of Libra into this Aries backdrop. Libra is a relationship oriented and intellectual Air sign ruled by Venus. It is associated with cooperation, diplomacy, fairness, justice, relating, balance, equality, peace, harmony, aesthetics, art, co-dependence, consideration of others, and finding common ground.

It is compromising, sociable, creative, charming, communicative, and is about weighing out different sides as it is symbolized by the scales. Negatively, it can be indecisive, impractical, insincere, superficial, vain, overly judgmental, passive aggressive, and people pleasing at the expense of individual needs.

Sun In Aries Conjunct Venus & Chiron opposing Moon In Libra

Venus, the ruler of Libra, has been slowly approaching the Sun throughout March leading up to a conjunction this past week in Aries. This was strongest from March 25th-26th but is still occurring during this Full Moon and will still have an influence in the weeks following. This is called a ‘Superior Conjunction’ which is when Venus transitions from being behind the Sun to moving ahead of it in Zodiacal position. Symbolically this period is seen as a ‘purification’ or ‘transmutation’ of Venus because from our geocentric perspective, Venus passes through the purifying fire of the Sun. This is an important phase of the Venus-Sun cycle. ??

Venus rules friends, social life, love, relationships, feminine energy, values, money, worth, aesthetics, art, beauty, sensuality, or things we do for fun and pleasure. However, for each of us it can also rule and affect/reflect other areas of life depending on the layout of our personal natal charts. ?Since early March when Venus was square the Lunar Nodes and up until now, we may have been experiencing endings and/or developments that could be a precursor to new beginnings in these areas of life. ??

As Venus begins to travel ahead of the Sun (from this point until its next retrograde) we can have gradual increased clarity or sense of purpose around Venus matters. Some of the Venus related developments that have occurred in recent or upcoming weeks can be connected to things that have been playing out since late Spring 2020 or following that period. However, this is now a time in which we may experience important ‘next steps’ around these areas and we can move forward in new ways with a better perception. ??

Interestingly this has been occurring while the Sun and Venus have been approaching a conjunction with Chiron which is in its peak at this Full Moon. This ties in themes of healing, addressing wounds, wholeness, integration, and spiritual growth around Venus issues but can be in other ways as well. This energy can also be solution oriented, have a bridging effect around fragmented aspects of our lives, and can also be a trigger for activating our unique gifts and abilities.

This alignment being in opposition to the Full Moon in Libra can bring a conflict and/or lead to a resolution between personal needs, values, wounds, self-worth, personal development, the need for healing and how that plays into our relationships. Perhaps the need for some sort of balance, being considerate, looking at things from different sides, or seeking peace and harmony could also be a factor.

Full Moon in Grand Trine Kite with Mars & Saturn, Quincunx Uranus

This Full Moon is moving towards a Grand Trine with Mars in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius. This is also a ‘Kite pattern’ when we factor in the planets in Aries. The developments happening around this time (as mentioned above) can be good for applying ourselves in a way that is focused, realistic, disciplined, structured, and responsible.

It can also reflect taking action on what is important and worthy of our attention. This can be on an individual level and can also play out within our relationship dynamics. The need to establish boundaries may also come up for some people. It can play out more noticeably from the Full Moon until March 31st/April 1st as the Sun and Venus move towards a sextile with Saturn.

In the days leading up to the Full Moon, Mars was aligned with the Lunar North and is still tied into the astrological configurations at this time. This is a time for actions that are future minded and/or can be beneficial for growth and moving forward in new ways. We may experience developments, or challenges,  that can affect how we work with Mars energy going forward.  Mars has to do with our drive and it rules physical activity, muscles, masculinity, heat, competitiveness and sex. In some cases, this can also be good for positive and constructive outlets/solutions for aggressiveness or tension.

Venus will be in a sextile with Mars on April 5th-6th which is building up in the days leading up to that. This can be good for lively social interactions, creative/artistic efforts, financial pursuits, pleasurable experiences, and romance. We may also feel more passionate at that time or perhaps competitive in a friendly way.

This Full Moon is also in a quincunx with Uranus. This can reflect potential surprises, changes, separations, disruptions, or curve balls we need to deal with that can be a bit of nuisance. Alternatively we feel like it is hard to integrate our emotional and/or relationship matters with our personal freedom. However this plays out, it may require adaptability.

Mercury In Pisces Conjunct Neptune, Sextile Pluto

Mercury has been in Pisces since March 15th/16th and will be there until April 3rd/4th. At the time of this Full Moon and in the days following, it will be a conjunction with Neptune which is a planetary representative of Pisces and therefore amplifies those existing energies. In recent weeks up until early April, we can experience similar types of complications that occur when Mercury is retrograde, such as miscommunications or issues with technology, payments, vehicles, commuting, or other things breaking and getting lost.

This can heighten our intuitive/psychic potential although we may have a hard time perceiving details which can result in misunderstandings and confusion. This can stimulate creativity, imagination, but can also play out as daydreaming or mental escapism. Our thoughts and communications can be more spiritually or compassion oriented.

Mercury then moves towards a sextile to Pluto from March 31st-April 2nd. Although it is still in Pisces and close to Neptune, this aspect to Pluto can bring more depth, focus, insight, and purpose. It can be good for research, investigative efforts and looking at things from beneath the surface. In some cases this energy can be psychologically beneficial and have an empowering effect on the way we think.

Things To Consider

What has been coming up for you in the last week in regards to relationships, friends, love, money, values, self-worth, pleasures, art, or things pertaining to beauty? What is the Universe trying to show you and how should you proceed forward or express yourself in these areas? Can you identify the beginnings and endings? Is there anything that needs to be changed, healed, transformed, or cleared? Are there any wounds or patterns that need to be addressed? Do you need to take a more holistic approach or come up with creative solutions? What aspects of your life or relationships are fragmented and how can you show up in a way that is more whole and integrated?

These are just some examples of themes that could come up during this period; however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is at 6:48pm Universal Time on March 28th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

New Moon In Pisces: Heightened Sensitivity

We are having a New Moon in Pisces on March 13th throughout the world. This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle and new wave of energy for the coming month; however, the astrological configurations mentioned throughout this article will be more prominent over the following two weeks. This cycle will include a Full Moon in Aries on March 28th/29th.

Pisces season began on February 18th/19th and will last until the March 19th/20th Equinox when the Sun enters Aries as per the Tropical Zodiac. Even though this New Moon occurs during the last week of Pisces season, some of its themes will carry on into the following month due to this lunar cycle initiating in this sign along with Mercury going in there.

Pisces, being the last of 12 signs, is highly attuned to spiritual realms and the oneness of all. It is the least compatible with the physical mundane world which is a reflection of its place in the zodiacal evolution.

Pisces is a flowy sign oriented around emotion, compassion, sensitivity, spirituality, imagination, and dreams. This energy is highly intuitive and even psychic, sometimes unknowingly. Pisces can be divinely inspired, idealistic, healing, tranquil, empathic, mystical, psychedelic, musical, poetic, and overall creative. It is forgiving, self-effacing, and elusive.?

Negative qualities of Pisces can be delusion, deception, confusion, escapism, addiction, intoxication, flakiness, evasiveness, and issues with boundaries. It can lack rationality, mental acuity, and orderliness. Under the influence of Piscean energy, things can be blurry when it comes to boundaries, perception, good and evil, the line between fantasy and reality, and in other ways as well.

New Moon Conjunct Venus & Neptune, Sextile Pluto

This New Moon is close to Venus and Neptune which are moving towards an exact conjunction in the sixteen hours following the start of this Lunar cycle. Neptune is associated with Pisces and is viewed as a modern ruler of that sign by some. They have the same themes/qualities and therefore Neptune’s close proximity to this New Moon (and Venus) amplifies those shared energies.

Venus areas of life that come up such as our social life, matters of love, values, art, or beauty, can be magical, soothing, compassionate, and spiritual.  However in some cases it can also reflect confusion, delusion, deception,  illusion, or lack of boundaries around our relationships or finances. The Venus-Neptune conjunction accentuates the creative and artistic qualities of Pisces. This energy can also play out with developments around gems/crystals, glamour, video games, and escaping through pleasures. For some people it can be highly romantic and/or reflect soulmate types of experiences.

Venus is trailing the Sun and will gradually be getting closer to it until last week of March when they will be in their ‘Superior Conjunction.’ Some of the things that have been playing out recently and in the coming weeks can be connected to endings and/or upcoming beginnings around friends, lovers, values, financial matters, aesthetic/artistic pursuits, or things we do for fun and pleasure. For many people this could have been felt in the first week of March as Venus was square the Lunar Nodes along with the Sun.

Both the New Moon and Venus are moving towards a sextile with Pluto. Although this isn’t a strong aspect, it can be renewing, empowering, revealing, purging, deep, and good for getting to the bottom of things. For some people, this can reflect financial benefit. This energy is mostly present in the hours following the New Moon as well as March 16th/17th, and then affecting Venus areas on the 18th/19th.

Mars Sextile Chiron, Trine Saturn, & Moving Towards North Node

Mars in the versatile sign of Gemini is moving towards a sextile with Chiron in Aries which peaks March 17th-18th/19th. This can be good for applying ourselves in a way that is healing, problem solving, bridging, or helps with our personal development and growth. Coming up with solutions, taking unorthodox approaches, or holistically oriented activities are different examples of the potentialities of this aspect.

Mars then moves towards a trine with Saturn in Aquarius which will be exact March 21st-22nd/23rd. This is supportive for asserting ourselves in a disciplined, responsible, cautious, structured, orderly, steady, protective, solidifying, and stabilizing way. It can also be a good time to initiate building something with hope/intention of it having longevity. It is also possible that there may be positive developments connected to efforts initiated last spring or perhaps other periods in the past.

Following this, Mars moves towards a conjunction to the Lunar North Node which will be exact from March 25th-27th. This is a time for actions that are future minded and/or can be beneficial for growth and moving forward in new ways. This can also be a time of developments connected to how we work with Mars energy that can be very supportive for us. Mars has to do with our drive and it rules physical activity, muscles, masculinity, heat, competitiveness and sex. In some cases, this can also be good for positive and constructive outlets/solutions for aggressiveness.

Making Intentions & Things To Consider

What can you do to bring more zen or magic into your life? Are there any spiritual or holistic modalities that you’d like to explore? Do you have any artistic inclinations that want to be expressed? What are your dreams telling you? What has been coming up for you around friendships or matters of love and what changes do you need to make? Do you need to take a more compassionate or gentle approach?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time. However, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. The exact moment it will occur is 10:21am Universal Time on March 13th. Full Moon In Virgo: Taking Important Steps Forward

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on February 27th which will appear the brightest on the night of the 26th for countries West of Central Asia and on the night of the 27th for countries East of there. This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon in Aquarius on February 11th/12th. The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations also play a part over the following two weeks. You may start to see its themes slowly build up after the New Moon prior.

Full Moons are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Pisces. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Virgoan side and others expressing the Piscean side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Virgo is an Earth sign ruled by Mercury. It is associated with tasks, duty, service, productivity, practicality, organizing, analyzing, perfection, physical health, cleanliness, sustainability, and purity. It is systematic, detailed, discerning, discriminating, diligent, and efficient. Virgo corresponds with problem solving, adjusting to changing conditions, and coming up with solutions. Negatively, Virgo energy can be cynical, overly critical, fussy, high strung, and too much in the head.

Pisces is a Water sign linked to Neptune and traditionally ruled by Jupiter. It is associated with sensitivity, compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, art, inspiration, dreams, imagination, oneness, and idealism. Pisces can be psychic, mystical, healing, and retreating. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, and deceptive. Drugs, alcohol, escapism, fantasy, and illusions are also under the domain of Pisces.

Full Moon Opposing Venus and Trine Uranus, Both Planets In A Sextile With Each Other

This Full Moon is in a trine with Uranus in Taurus. This can be a stimulating energy which can be good for trying new things or anything involving originality, innovation, technology, metaphysics, or science. Some people may also experience breakthroughs or surprises in a way that is welcoming and beneficial in most cases.

The Full Moon also opposes Venus in Pisces which will be closely behind the Sun over the next month until they make an exact conjunction in late March. Venus themes pertaining to love, relationships, friends, values, pleasures, money, and aesthetics may also be at odds with duties and other Virgo themes mentioned. This can also emphasize certain Piscean energies such as creativity, art, escapism, and intoxication. However, if we emphasize the Virgo side of the polarity, this can also be good for productive efforts around our relations, finances, art, or other Venus ruled areas of life.

The combination of all of this can also reflect taking new creative approaches to things which can be potentially for our work. Social, romantic, and financially related occurrences and undertakings can be exciting, unusual, liberating, ingenious, tech related, or experience a positive and/or evolutionary change. Generally, Venus in Pisces can also bring a magical, spiritual, or compassionate tone in our relations with others which can also play into this configuration with Uranus. This energy will build up as we approach March 3rd/4th when Venus will make its exact sextile with Uranus.

Virgo Ruler Mercury Conjunct Jupiter & In Post Retrograde Shadow

The ruler of this Full Moon is Mercury which had finished its retrograde in Aquarius on February 20th/21st. From that point until March 12th/13th it is in its post retrograde shadow which is the conclusion of the retrograde process. Certain areas of our lives that have experienced shifts, complications, changes in perception, or revisitation over the last month are becoming more clear. Things will fall into place more easily and we will be in a better position to proceed ahead in a way that is revised based on what has transpired.

Mercury is closely approaching a conjunction with Jupiter in the same sign of Aquarius. This can be good for anything educational or applying our minds in expansive or explorative ways. Thinking or communicating about the big picture, ideals, or undertakings involving media, marketing, or foreign places may also come up. This energy will be strong on March 4th/5th and build up as we approach that date.

Halfway Point Between Eclipses with Squares To Lunar Nodes

This Full Moon is in a square aspect with the previous Lunar Eclipse in Gemini which is also a grand cross when we factor in the oppositions with the Sun. The period between now and the next New Moon in Pisces marks the halfway period between the previous eclipse season in November/December (which also included a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius) and the upcoming one in May/June.

We may experience developments pertaining to the themes of these eclipses. It can be a time of making important steps forward while also releasing certain expressions of ourselves or expired aspects of our life to help us in our evolution. The areas of our lives that are being affected by these eclipses depend on how they are configured to our natal astrology charts and are also connected to expressions of Gemini and Sagittarius.

Developments connected to communication, information, duality, intellectual matters, our immediate environment, local issues, neighborhood/neighbors, or siblings, cousins, or friends from an earlier part of our life can be part of this process. This is represented by the North Node and previous Lunar Eclipse in Gemini. The Sagittarius side of this polarity can reflect shifts connected to beliefs, opinions, dogmas, judgments, morals, higher education, travel, foreign lands, and excessiveness.

A significant part of this halfway period will be on March 5th/6th when the Sun will be in a square with the Lunar nodes. The themes and potentialities mentioned in the above paragraphs can come up more strongly at that time. Considerations may involve where we are coming from and where we are heading or being stuck between things that can be holding us back and things that can facilitate growth. Activities and developments happening at this time can also involve incorporating beneficial aspects of the past and applying/experiencing them in an evolved or forward moving way.

On March 9th/10th, Venus will also be in a square with the Lunar Nodes. The themes mentioned in the above paragraph may come up again. However, they can also involve Venus ruled areas such as love, friendships, financial matters, values, pleasures, art, aesthetics, and creativity. We may experience turning points or perhaps we may also feel that we are at a crossroads when it comes to these areas.

Things To Consider

How can you integrate creativity, compassion, spirituality, inspiration, originality, or innovation into your work, duties, and service to others? What new approaches can you take for your health or to help you be more organized, productive, and efficient? Do you need to be more attentive to details? What is coming up for you now, and in the days prior to this Full Moon, that is bringing more clarity to help you move forward in a revised way? How do your friendships, social network, groups, the collective, technology, innovation, ideals, the big picture, education, or media tie in to this?

Is there a connection between current/recent developments, issues, insights, realizations, or ideas with happenings that occurred for you back in November and/or December? If so, these newer developments can be a next step for you to proceed forward in new ways and move on from certain behaviors, tendencies, or aspects of life that are holding you back.

These are just some examples of themes that could come up during this period; however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is at 8:17am Universal Time on February 27th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.
