Full Moon In Aries: Addressing Wounds & Limitations

We are having a Full Moon in Aries on September 24th/25th, depending on where you’re located in the world. This marks the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on September 9th with a New Moon in Virgo. The energies of a Full Moon gradually build up earlier in the Moon cycle and become more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also a part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks.

The Sun entered Libra a few days prior which is always at the Equinox as per the Tropical Zodiac. The Equinoxes and Solstices are powerful points of transition which are the beginning of the next quarter/season of the astronomical year. Considering that the Full Moon is so close to this Equinox, it amplifies the transitional energy of this period.

At every Full Moon we experience a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case it is the Sun in Libra opposing the Moon in Aries. As mentioned, Libra season just began and will last until October 23rd. Ruled by Venus, it is about relating/relationships, aesthetics/beauty, creativity, balance, diplomacy, equality, cooperation, and consideration. It can also be indecisive, superficial, vain, lack action, and can be overly co-dependant in many ways yet emotionally detached at the same time. As an Air sign, it is socially and intellectually oriented.

Aries, ruled by Mars, is about self-initiation, action, assertiveness, boldness, independence, self-interests, and taking the lead. It is also a ‘quick’ energy. Negatively, it can be hot-tempered, aggressive, restless, impatient, and lack consideration. As a Fire sign, it is energetic and instinctual. During this time we should see the energies of both of these opposing signs playing out either through us and/or around us.

Full Moon Conjunct Chiron, Square Saturn, and Opposing Mercury With The Sun

This Full Moon is really close to Chiron (also in Aries) while moving towards a square with Saturn in Capricorn and an opposition to Mercury (also in Libra). This period may highlight anything connected to our wounds, blockages, negative patterns, traumas, and/or it may also bring up our gifts in relation to those.

Chiron has a holistically healing quality, and perhaps this period can reflect taking action towards healing. It is also a ‘bridge’ energy, especially between the physical and the spiritual, but can also bridge other things as well. Chiron is also currently retrograde and is changing signs (to Pisces) less than 24 hours after this Full Moon. This reinforces how Chiron themes can be coming up strongly at this time, and perhaps it could be connected to our wounds and issues that have come up sometime in the last 7-8 years.

Saturn in a T-square with this Full Moon can bring up themes around limitations, challenges, responsibility, or discipline. These can be in connection with the Libra-Aries opposition as well as Chiron themes mentioned above. In some cases, we may need to get real and put effort towards fixing our blockages. Mercury in the equation could have to do with issues around the way we think or communicate.

The Sun is Aligned with The Super Galactic Center

The Sun is aligned with the ‘Super Galactic Center’ which is what our galaxy rotates around along with other galaxies. The SGC, along with the GC (our galaxy’s center) are points in the sky that have to do with higher consciousness, spiritual evolution, and tapping into new ideas and concepts that help to push humanity forward.

This SGC amplifies some of the Libras qualities around relationship and creativity, but has deeper meaning around them. It can also be connected to soul retrieval and healing, similarly to Chiron. These themes may also be connected to some of the other stuff mentioned throughout this article.

Aries Ruler Mars In Aspect With Full Moon While At The South Node, Returning From Being ‘Out Of Bounds’

The ruler of this Full Moon, Mars, is aligned with the South Node and a trine/sextile with the Sun and Moon. It is still in its post-retrograde period for the next two weeks as it begins to pick up speed. On the day of this Full Moon, Mars also returns from being ‘Out of Bounds’ which isn’t a common occurrence. This is when a planet orbits outside of a space of where it normally is from our Earth based perspective, outside of the ‘Ecliptic and Celestial Equator’. This began on July 7th during its retrograde.

When a planet is ‘out of bounds’, it is generally a time when a planet explores new territory beyond the normal constructs of how it usually expresses itself. It can be in unusual, unique, independent, unconventional, innovative, and even creative ways. Mars has to do with how we use our willpower, our actions/assertiveness, our motivations, our desires, sexuality, and how we deal with aggression and anger. With the ‘out of bounds’ ending now, it can be a time of integrating more of what we learned or experienced over the last 2.5 months.

This combined with the Mars retrograde indicates a re-orientation of how we apply Mars. Being near the South Node, it also brings themes in relation to the past (perhaps karmic) and could also be connected to Aquarian areas of friendships, ideals, and collective efforts. Perhaps a need to release something in terms of how we apply our Mars energy and/or in relation to Aquarian areas. The South Node connection also reinforces some of the Chiron and Super Galactic Center themes mentioned above.

Libra Ruler, Venus, Going Retrograde Soon

Venus is currently slowing down and will go retrograde on October 5th while in Scorpio. Since early September, we have been in a period in which shifts and new developments around Venus areas of love, relationships, sex, values, beauty, creativity, and even financially can start to play out. Or certain things that have been going since then may lead to changes and adjustments to these areas which will occur during and after the retrograde from October to December.

Prior to and during the retrograde, Venus interacts with Mars in a square. This could be about our recent Mars lessons and re-orientations having an effect on Venus related areas which will undergo its own recalibration process of its own.

Things To Consider During This Period

What are your self-interests at this time and how can you balance this with the consideration of others? What areas of your life require healing and what has been coming up to show you this? How can you apply better effort and discipline towards dealing with your blockages, limitations, and wounds? How can you take on more of a holistic approach? What aspects or relationships of your past do you need to address? What behaviors do you need to release from? What did you realize or explore in the last 2.5 months and how can you incorporate this to achieve greater harmony and fulfillment in your life.

These are just some examples of what may be coming up for you, however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following, when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is on September 25th at 2:52am Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

New Moon In Pisces: Taking Action Towards Our Wounds

We are having a New Moon in Pisces which will occur on March 17th or 18th, depending on where you are located in the world. New Moon’s are the start of a new 29.5 day Lunar Cycle which ushers in a new wave of energy for the coming month. The themes of this New Moon are strongest over the following 10 days until we start to transition into the energies of the next Full Moon.

In the backdrop of the New Moon themes mentioned below, we will be having our next edition of Mercury Retrograde starting on March 22nd-23rd and that will last until the next New Moon on April 15th. The pre-shadow period began on March 8th, and since then, some of the things in which we have been applying ourselves towards will go through a sorting out process during the retrograde. We will also be shown things in a different light helping us to make changes and adjustments.

If you can, it would be wise not to  make any big purchases at this time of products that can be affected, which includes communication technology like computers and phones as well as vehicles or anything with moving parts. If you make any of these purchases now, or perhaps if they were made since March 8th, there is a higher probability of experiencing unanticipated complications over the next month or perhaps even after the retrograde period itself.

I will be writing a separate article on this retrograde, so if you want to make sure that you receive it, you can do so my making sure you are on my mailing list here.

New Moon In Pisces Conjunct Chiron and Square Mars In Sagittarius

We have been in Pisces season since February 18th, a period which helps to heighten our sensitivities, creative expression, compassion, forgiveness, dreams, fantasies, and spirituality. Negatively, this energy could have also stimulated confusion, deception, escapism, lack of detail, and flakiness. This previous lunar cycle began with a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius which has generally been about shifts in friendships and our social networks, which may have played out in a Piscean way for some people throughout the last month.

This New Moon continues to carry some of these Pisces themes into the upcoming Lunar cycle. It is aligned with Chiron while in a square with Mars in Sagittarius. Chiron rules our wounds, blockages, negative patterns, trauma, and could be associated with self-sabotage or perhaps any of the Pisces themes mentioned.

With Mars involved, this can be a period of taking action towards our wounds, and challenges may come up that push us to do so. For many people, the issues that surface at this time may be Mars related which could be connected to the way we assert ourselves: anger, aggressiveness, desires, and sex. Alternatively in some cases, this can be a time for healers and teachers to step things up in their own practice.

Jupiter In Scorpio Is Now Retrograde

Jupiter, the traditional ruler of Pisces and solo ruler of Sagittarius, also began its retrograde on March 8th which will last until July 10th. As it has been changing motion in recent weeks, we may have been pondering on themes related to this planet and sign. Jupiter rules exploration, education, growth, optimism, travel, beliefs, luck, and perspectives. Business wise, it rules publishing, teaching, sales, and marketing. Negatively, it is associated with excess, overdoing, overindulgence, blind optimism, and judgemental behaviour.?

It is in the sign of Scorpio while in aspect with Pluto which can ultimately bring a transformational and even empowering theme. It can also be a period of considering how we use our power. We may discover or rediscover secrets, or hidden/forgotten aspects of ourselves or other areas of our lives. Some people may revisit things to do with fears, shared/others resources, investments, intimacy and sexuality.

Jupiter is also in aspect with Neptune in Pisces which can bring deep inner spiritual growth during this retrograde period. Things related to any of these themes mentioned that were conceived or brought into our awareness since December 12th may be revisited.?

In July, as the retrograde ends, we will have a more clearer idea on how to proceed forward with the Jupiter related lessons, skills, growth, and perspectives we have acquired. Certain people will experience something that triggers or continues a process of deep transformation, as it is a great time to do inner work. This can be connected to things that have transpired in January. When the retrograde is over, there will be even more momentum for growth, both personally and outwardly, in any of the themes or areas mentioned.

Mercury Travelling With Venus In Aries, Venus Square Pluto

As Mercury has been slowing down to go retrograde, it has been travelling through the sky with Venus over the last few weeks, which started in Pisces, but are now both currently in Aries. They will have an exact alignment on March 19th/20th. This can be a period which emphasizes communication, thinking, and contemplation revolved around Venus ruled areas of love, relationships/friendships, values, money, aesthetics and pleasures.

In Aries, this energy may push us to take a new type of action or perhaps there may be themes around independence and leadership connected to Venus. However, this energy can also be impulsive and may stimulate competition or combativeness in the areas mentioned above.

Venus is moving towards a square with Pluto which will be exact on March 23rd/24th just after Mercury begins its retrograde. At worst, this can trigger intensity, obsessiveness, power struggles, and conflict around anything connected to Venus. It may also be related to hidden matters or secrets.

Alternatively, this can also stimulate positive changes, transformations, and empowerment. However, considering that Mercury will have just begun its retrograde, it is possible that it could be connected to things that will be contemplated over the following weeks. There may be miscommunications or challenges related to past actions.

Making Intentions and Thing To Consider

In what ways can you take action towards any needed healing? Do you have any wounds around aggression, anger, desires, sexuality, or the way that you assert yourself which needs to be addressed? What is getting in the way of you being a more active and assertive person? What negative patterns are getting in the way of you living your life at a higher potential? Perhaps you may need to go deep to figure out and heal the root of your blockages that are inhibiting you or creating problems in your life?

These are just some examples of what to contemplate when making any intentions, however, it is good to consider whatever else has been written in this article or has been coming up in your life recently. It is best to make any intention within the first 24 hours following this New Moon. It can be as early as 30 minutes prior to the exact moment, however if you plan on doing it shortly afterwards, it might be best to wait until 6 hours later for this specific New Moon. The exact moment will be at 1:12pm Universal Time on March 17th. You can click here to see that in your time zone.

New Moon In Virgo: Getting Real And Embracing Change

There will be a New Moon in Virgo on September 20, 2017. This is the beginning of a new wave of energy influencing the upcoming month, yet the astrological configurations at this time will have a stronger influence over the following two weeks.

On September 18, less then a day before this New Moon, Mercury finished travelling in the part of the zodiac it occupied during its previous retrograde. These last few weeks (since Sept 5) are known as Mercury’s ‘post-shadow’ period, as there has been more of a forward momentum in response to what transpired during the retrograde and in the aftermath leading up to this New Moon on the 19th.

However, Mercury has also been progressing toward an opposition with Neptune until the 18th/19th, which synchronistically aligned with the end of the post shadow period and transition to a New Moon cycle. In some cases this could still have made the forward momentum of the ‘post shadow’ period a bit confusing or perhaps related it to escapism or deceiving behaviour. However, in some cases, Neptune here along with other planetary configurations could also indicate spiritual healing or awareness that could influence the way we think.

Pluto in Capricorn is currently almost stationary, as it is finishing up its retrograde that started on April 20. It will begin to move forward again on September 28. During the weeks leading up to and following this date (the 28th), Plutonian themes may be surfacing more strongly.

It could be related to power, transformation, death and rebirth, control, hidden matters, secrets, sex, or even money and business. For some people this can be an empowering time, especially for those born in the early 1980s (primarily 1981-1982) or the mid-1960s and mid-late 1950s.

Some of the themes and developments that have occurred between September 17th-19th could be related to what the previous Solar Eclipse in Leo indicated for your personal evolution now and over the coming months. Venus in Leo was at the same spot of the eclipse, triggering it with themes of love, fun, friendships, creativity, and values, along with money in some cases.

New Moon in Virgo in a T-Square With Chiron and Saturn, Three Planets Also in Virgo

Virgo is the sign of health, work, service, routine, lifestyle, details, purity, cleanliness, organization, and pets. Developments related to these themes could already be playing out, but we are moving into a period of increased momentum and clarity and therefore we may be stepping it up or expressing and experiencing these energies even more. Although Virgo season is almost over and we will move into Libra season soon, Venus, Mars, and Mercury will still be travelling in Virgo which is also putting extra emphasis on this sign and its energies.

This New Moon is tightly separating from an opposition to Chiron. This could either indicate challenges with our personal wounds/blockages or it could represent healing and empowerment when also considering Pluto’s transition to forward motion. In many cases this could have occurred in the week and days leading up to this New Moon.

Those who have been experiencing this energy in a challenging way may feel a tug of war between Virgo energy and Chiron in Pisces. This could manifest as Virgo related circumstances and themes (mentioned above) at odds with our blockages and self-imposed inadequacies. Saturn is in a loose square with this opposition, as it was with the previous Full Moon in Pisces. This could emphasize tension pushing us to be more committed, responsible, or realistic, or to have more discipline in overcoming the challenge of this opposition.

Jupiter in Libra Finishing Opposition With Uranus in Aries

Jupiter is finishing off its opposition with Uranus over the next few weeks and it will be strongest around Sept 25th – 30th. This energy started in December and was strong throughout the winter and gradually started to increase again over last six weeks. Jupiter in Libra represents one side that wants to expand in relationships, partnerships, diplomacy, balance, fairness, and equality. It could even be related to those we consult with.

If expressed in a challenging way, Uranus in Aries could disrupt this through surprising/sudden circumstances, and could perhaps bring separations. In some cases it could be some sort of rebellion against other Libra themes mentioned. Alternatively, some people can experience these two forces in a more harmonious way that can be integrating instead of opposing. This could bring expansive breakthroughs, big surprises, freedom, new or revolutionary experiences, or over-excitement, which may be connected to the Jupiter in Libra themes mentioned above.

This opposition is forming quincunx and semi-sextile configurations with the New Moon and Chiron. This could suggest that, however this manifests for you, it may require some adjustments for you to be able to integrate this energy with how you manage your life, work, dealing with blockages, or other Virgo and Chiron related areas mentioned above.

Making Intentions and Things to Consider

What can you do to make your life or work operate more smoothly, organized, and efficient? What lifestyle changes do you need to make to be more healthy and/or overcome blockages and wounds? What have you learned about your personal power and how should you proceed based on this? Also think about anything else that the universe has been showing you over the last few weeks and consider what needs to be done based on this.

The exact time of this New Moon occurred at 5:30am Universal Time on September 20. It is best to make your intentions with the first 24 hours following the New Moon, as close to it as possible. You can click here to see what the exact time was for your time zone.
