Full Moon In Virgo: Taking Important Steps Forward

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on February 27th which will appear the brightest on the night of the 26th for countries West of Central Asia and on the night of the 27th for countries East of there. This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon in Aquarius on February 11th/12th. The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations also play a part over the following two weeks. You may start to see its themes slowly build up after the New Moon prior.

Full Moons are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Pisces. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Virgoan side and others expressing the Piscean side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Virgo is an Earth sign ruled by Mercury. It is associated with tasks, duty, service, productivity, practicality, organizing, analyzing, perfection, physical health, cleanliness, sustainability, and purity. It is systematic, detailed, discerning, discriminating, diligent, and efficient. Virgo corresponds with problem solving, adjusting to changing conditions, and coming up with solutions. Negatively, Virgo energy can be cynical, overly critical, fussy, high strung, and too much in the head.

Pisces is a Water sign linked to Neptune and traditionally ruled by Jupiter. It is associated with sensitivity, compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, art, inspiration, dreams, imagination, oneness, and idealism. Pisces can be psychic, mystical, healing, and retreating. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, and deceptive. Drugs, alcohol, escapism, fantasy, and illusions are also under the domain of Pisces.

Full Moon Opposing Venus and Trine Uranus, Both Planets In A Sextile With Each Other

This Full Moon is in a trine with Uranus in Taurus. This can be a stimulating energy which can be good for trying new things or anything involving originality, innovation, technology, metaphysics, or science. Some people may also experience breakthroughs or surprises in a way that is welcoming and beneficial in most cases.

The Full Moon also opposes Venus in Pisces which will be closely behind the Sun over the next month until they make an exact conjunction in late March. Venus themes pertaining to love, relationships, friends, values, pleasures, money, and aesthetics may also be at odds with duties and other Virgo themes mentioned. This can also emphasize certain Piscean energies such as creativity, art, escapism, and intoxication. However, if we emphasize the Virgo side of the polarity, this can also be good for productive efforts around our relations, finances, art, or other Venus ruled areas of life.

The combination of all of this can also reflect taking new creative approaches to things which can be potentially for our work. Social, romantic, and financially related occurrences and undertakings can be exciting, unusual, liberating, ingenious, tech related, or experience a positive and/or evolutionary change. Generally, Venus in Pisces can also bring a magical, spiritual, or compassionate tone in our relations with others which can also play into this configuration with Uranus. This energy will build up as we approach March 3rd/4th when Venus will make its exact sextile with Uranus.

Virgo Ruler Mercury Conjunct Jupiter & In Post Retrograde Shadow

The ruler of this Full Moon is Mercury which had finished its retrograde in Aquarius on February 20th/21st. From that point until March 12th/13th it is in its post retrograde shadow which is the conclusion of the retrograde process. Certain areas of our lives that have experienced shifts, complications, changes in perception, or revisitation over the last month are becoming more clear. Things will fall into place more easily and we will be in a better position to proceed ahead in a way that is revised based on what has transpired.

Mercury is closely approaching a conjunction with Jupiter in the same sign of Aquarius. This can be good for anything educational or applying our minds in expansive or explorative ways. Thinking or communicating about the big picture, ideals, or undertakings involving media, marketing, or foreign places may also come up. This energy will be strong on March 4th/5th and build up as we approach that date.

Halfway Point Between Eclipses with Squares To Lunar Nodes

This Full Moon is in a square aspect with the previous Lunar Eclipse in Gemini which is also a grand cross when we factor in the oppositions with the Sun. The period between now and the next New Moon in Pisces marks the halfway period between the previous eclipse season in November/December (which also included a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius) and the upcoming one in May/June.

We may experience developments pertaining to the themes of these eclipses. It can be a time of making important steps forward while also releasing certain expressions of ourselves or expired aspects of our life to help us in our evolution. The areas of our lives that are being affected by these eclipses depend on how they are configured to our natal astrology charts and are also connected to expressions of Gemini and Sagittarius.

Developments connected to communication, information, duality, intellectual matters, our immediate environment, local issues, neighborhood/neighbors, or siblings, cousins, or friends from an earlier part of our life can be part of this process. This is represented by the North Node and previous Lunar Eclipse in Gemini. The Sagittarius side of this polarity can reflect shifts connected to beliefs, opinions, dogmas, judgments, morals, higher education, travel, foreign lands, and excessiveness.

A significant part of this halfway period will be on March 5th/6th when the Sun will be in a square with the Lunar nodes. The themes and potentialities mentioned in the above paragraphs can come up more strongly at that time. Considerations may involve where we are coming from and where we are heading or being stuck between things that can be holding us back and things that can facilitate growth. Activities and developments happening at this time can also involve incorporating beneficial aspects of the past and applying/experiencing them in an evolved or forward moving way.

On March 9th/10th, Venus will also be in a square with the Lunar Nodes. The themes mentioned in the above paragraph may come up again. However, they can also involve Venus ruled areas such as love, friendships, financial matters, values, pleasures, art, aesthetics, and creativity. We may experience turning points or perhaps we may also feel that we are at a crossroads when it comes to these areas.

Things To Consider

How can you integrate creativity, compassion, spirituality, inspiration, originality, or innovation into your work, duties, and service to others? What new approaches can you take for your health or to help you be more organized, productive, and efficient? Do you need to be more attentive to details? What is coming up for you now, and in the days prior to this Full Moon, that is bringing more clarity to help you move forward in a revised way? How do your friendships, social network, groups, the collective, technology, innovation, ideals, the big picture, education, or media tie in to this?

Is there a connection between current/recent developments, issues, insights, realizations, or ideas with happenings that occurred for you back in November and/or December? If so, these newer developments can be a next step for you to proceed forward in new ways and move on from certain behaviors, tendencies, or aspects of life that are holding you back.

These are just some examples of themes that could come up during this period; however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is at 8:17am Universal Time on February 27th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Full Moon In Virgo: Practical Action

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on March 9th/10th, depending on your location. This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon in Pisces on February 23rd. The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations still play a part over the following two weeks. You may also start to see its themes slowly build up after the New Moon prior to it.

Full Moons are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Pisces. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic playing out between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Virgo side and others expressing the Pisces side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Full Moon In Virgo Opposite Sun Conjunct Neptune In Pisces

Pisces can be psychic, healing, and retreating. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, and deceptive. It is associated with escapism, intoxication of drugs/alcohol, as well as some fossil fuels such as oil and gas.

At the time of this Full Moon, and especially in the days leading up to it, the Sun is in a conjunction with Neptune. Also in the weeks prior and up until this point, Mercury has been retrograde primarily in Pisces (but currently in Aquarius). These factors accentuate the dreamy, mystical, flowy, hibernating, and even tiring Piscean qualities.  However, this Full Moon activates a lot of Earth energy which can help to balance things out.

Full Moon Trine Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, & Saturn In Capricorn

This Full Moon is in a trine aspect to all four planets that are currently in the Earth sign of Capricorn. This helps to harmoniously combine the energies Virgo-Pisces opposition mentioned above. Capricorn adds more practicality, realism, orderliness, and productivity to this Full Moon equation and also throws in the potential of structure and ambition.

The combination of these planets reflects action that can be expansive yet calculated, cautious, focused, powerful, or regenerating. Some of this energy will also come up around the Equinox when Mars joins Jupiter which can be a period in which we may want to do things in a big way or act on aspirations.

Virgo Ruler Mercury Going Direct While In Aquarius

The Ruler of Virgo, Mercury, will be in the process of transitioning out of its retrograde (which began in mid-February) during this Full Moon. The areas of our lives that have been affected by this retrograde will start to become more clear and things will eventually fall into place more easily as we progress into the coming days and weeks.

Mercury will be in Aquarius at this point and then return to Pisces a week later. Issues and perceptions associated with friends, acquaintances, groups, collective interests, ideals, spirituality, creativity, compassion, escapism, lack of boundaries, may have been some of the themes of the past month.  However, the areas of life that it affected for you also depends on how it was configured to your personal astrological blueprint.

In the first few days after it ends it can still feel like its retrograde, as complications,  confusion, or uncertainty may occur due to Mercury’s stationary position. It’s usually best to wait until at least three days afterwards before making big decisions, finalizing agreements, signing paperwork, or anything else of that nature.

Chiron Square The Lunar Nodes

Chiron is in a T-square aspect with the Lunar Nodes now and over the coming weeks. It is transitioning from being closer in proximity to the South Node towards moving closer to the North Node until they conjoin in four years from now.

In this moment of time during this square and halfway point between both sides of Lunar Nodes, it can be a great time to address and reflect on certain wounds, blockages, negative patterns, old behaviours, inadequacies, and other internal conflicts pertaining to our past that are getting in our way.

At the same time it can be an opportunity to look towards how we can move forward with these issues in a more empowering, healing, transformative, holistic, or positively integrative way. For many people this can feel like the beginning of a turning point towards achieving greater wholeness. This is a good time to be open towards any sort of modalities, practices, information/media, people, situations, or anything else that can help to facilitate this process.

Things To Consider

What has come up for during this retrograde in recent weeks and how do you currently feel as this retrograde is beginning to conclude? What can you do to make your ideals, visions, or inspirations, a reality? Do you need to achieve a greater balance between the spiritual and physical? Is there an area of your life that needs to be more organized? How can you take a more practical and productive approach while having an ideal work-life balance?

Considering the Full Moon in Virgo, Chiron square the Nodes, and the transition into the next season coming up at the Equinox, it is a good time to initiate a cleanse sometime over the next 10 days. This can be good for both physical and emotional health as well as spiritual connectivity.

Practices like fasting, eating lighter, or other cleansing protocols will fit well with this energy. I also recommend E3Live or E3AFA, which is one of the most powerful superfoods and can help to achieve both Piscean and Virgoan results. It is also good to organize, clean, and rearrange your space to improve the energy flow and the way you feel. If you want to go more deeper into this, I would recommend looking into Feng Shui.

If you wish to do any sort of intentional release, cleansing, or clearing, it is best to initiate after the peak of the Full Moon or as it is waning over the following two weeks. The exact moment of the peak will be on March 9th at 5:48pm Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Mercury Retrograde In Pisces & Aquarius: Contemplating Ideals

Mercury begins its latest retrograde process on February 16th/17th , which will last until March 9th/10th. In the weeks (and especially days) leading up to it we start to notice its influence as Mercury slows down and comes to a stop before moving the other way. This is part of the ‘pre-shadow’ period which began on February 2nd.

If you have read my previous Mercury retrograde articles, the first two sections of this article are nearly the same and you can skip to the third section if you don’t want to re-read all the general themes associated with these periods. The other sections are more specific to this edition of it.

Mercury retrograde is known for the problematic effects it often has on communication technology, transactions, motor vehicles, anything with moving parts, and commuting in general. Some people even get headaches near the beginning of it. We could experience some challenges, misunderstandings, and errors around our communications, numbers/details, and commerce, as well as changes, cancellations, or delays in our schedules. We may also feel more challenged when we are doing excessive analytical work without using our internal guidance.

Mercury Retrograde can also be a good time to revisit or redo tasks, projects, ideas, or anything else that was initiated in the past. It can give us a different perspective or shift in thinking that can help us to approach these things in ways we wouldn’t have done before. This may also be a period of reconnecting with old friends, family, lovers, or others we haven’t seen in a while. When we reconnect with people during a retrograde, it can help to facilitate a shift in the relationship. In some cases, issues from the past can come up which may need to be hashed out.

The Deeper Purpose of Mercury Retrograde

Ultimately, Mercury Retrograde is a time for us to recalibrate and adjust specific areas of our lives as well as how we apply our minds towards these issues. It is a period in which we may receive important insights and see things in a new light. In most cases, it can be mildly transformational, but in some cases it can facilitate more major transformations depending on how it corresponds to your personal astrological chart.

During and following the retrograde, certain areas of our lives can go through changes or shifts, or we can experience a re-orientation of some sort which influences how we proceed over the coming months or in some cases, it can have a more long-term significance. In the three weeks afterwards, known as the ‘post-shadow’ period, we move forward with some sort of new awareness, adjustment, as well as new ideas and thoughts that have been seeded which will develop and become more defined as time progresses.

The things that you have been doing or circumstances in the two weeks leading up to this period could determine how and where this energy plays out. It is also possible that there could have been changes or things that came up at that time which may go through a sorting-out process. There could have been unknown variables, either positive or negative, that were either unseen or hadn’t been conceived yet, which may become apparent over the coming weeks.

The sign(s) and element(s) in which Mercury retrograde travels shows the energy we are re-orienting ourselves with. More importantly, if you are familiar with your natal astrology chart, then your house(s) or any planetary placements being affected will show more specifically what areas of life you will be experiencing its energy in. For the astrologically literate, it begins at 12’53 degrees of Pisces and will retrograde all the way to 28’13 degrees of Aquarius, before turning forward again.

Occurring Mostly In Pisces and Partially In Aquarius, Part of a Series in Water Signs

Mercury Retrograde always happens in primarily one element for 1-2 years. This is the fourth of a series occurring in water signs, with the final one happening in the Fall of 2020. The water element is about emotion, feelings, sensitivity, compassion, intuition, and fluidity. This period is about re-aligning ourselves with these qualities and expressing them in new or revamped ways.

This one is primarily a reorientation around Piscean energies and themes. This sign is mystical, spiritual, divinely inspired, imaginative, idealistic, healing, compassionate, and empathic. Pisces is about the subconscious, dreams, faith, and oneness. It is also associated with large bodies of water and creative outlets such as visual media, music, and poetry.

Negatively, Pisces energy can be delusional, flaky, forgetful, deceptive, evasive, confusing, and can lack direction and understanding of boundaries. Escapism and intoxication are also potential Pisces shadows that could come up during this period.

This retrograde is also partially in Aquarius, and although the Pisces themes are stronger at this time, the qualities of Aquarius can be tied into this period as well. This sign is associated with friends, social networks, the group, the team, humanity, ideals, and what is in the best interest of the collective.

Aquarius is intellectual, objective, and rational. It can be unconventional, innovative, original, inventive, progressive, technological, scientific, reforming, and even revolutionary. Negatively, it is be overly detached, aloof, unemotional, and stubborn about ideas.

Mercury Retrograde Significant Dates

Below are some of the dates and information for some of the major astrological configurations during this retrograde.

*The dates below are based on the Americas. The further East you are located, you may need to consider it as the next day.

Feb 16th-17th Mercury begins its retrograde at 12:54 am Universal Time. Mercury retrograde themes and complications may come up strongly at this time and in recent days leading up to this. You may get some sort of indication of the things that may be playing out for you over the next month based on how you feel or what transpires. It’s possible that things that happen, which may seem insignificant at the time, can somehow be connected to how this retrograde process will affect you.

Feb 19th-20th (Feb 14th-26th) Jupiter Sextile Neptune.  Jupiter in Capricorn is moving towards its first of three sextiles to Neptune in Pisces happening in 2020. This one is strongest from February 14th-26th with it peaking on the 19th and 20th.  This energy accentuates all the Pisces energy that is already occurring.  It can also be expansive, explorative, and ambitious in a creative, spiritual, idealistic, or compassionate way.

Feb 24th-26th Mercury Retrograde Conjunct the Sun in Pisces (Inferior Conjunction), Sextile Mars Conjunct The South Node. This is the halfway point of Mercury retrograde, known as the ‘inferior conjunction,’ which is when it returns to the Sun. This can be a period of increased insights, and the themes or circumstances pertaining to how this retrograde is affecting you may come up more during this period.

Complications and frustrations can also be stronger at this time depending on your circumstances or how you are applying yourself. This may also be a period of ridding yourself of certain thoughts, ideas, perceptions, old interests, expectations, or other things that are not serving you while the potential for new ones may be seeded.

Mars on the South Node may also reflect other types of purging as well. For some people this can be a period of needing to let go of negative expressions of Mars that can be holding us back. This may be connected to anger, aggression, force, competitiveness, or aspects of our sexual behavior or relationships.

March 4th Mercury Retrograde enters Aquarius. As Mercury changes signs, it’s possible that issues pertaining to Aquarius themes (mentioned in previous section) and other areas of life (depending on your natal chart) may come up more strongly in comparison to the previous weeks.

March 9th-12th Mercury transitions from Retrograde to Direct during the Full Moon in Virgo. Mercury will slowly begin to move forward from March 10th onward. The areas of our lives that have been affected by this retrograde will start to become more clear and things will fall into place more easily as we progress into the coming days and weeks. As Mercury gradually picks up speed, we can move forward in the areas of life that have been affected. However, usually the first few days after it ends can still feel like its retrograde, as complications may occur due to Mercury’s stationary position. It’s usually best to wait until at least 3 days afterwards before finalizing decisions, agreements, etc.

A Full Moon in Virgo will also be occurring on March 9th as Mercury transitions, aspecting four planets in Capricorn. With strong Earth energy combined with the direct motion of Mercury, we may feel more productive at this time in comparison to the previous weeks. (I will be writing a separate article on this Full Moon, you can join my mailing list here to get notified when this and other content of mine is published.)

Later on around May 4th and/or in the days following, there may be even more clarity around certain things that have been seeded during this retrograde. From there, things may develop further with a better perception, or circumstances may indicate lack of sufficiency, not what was anticipated, or that something needs to change.

Supermoon In Virgo: Balancing Practical Matters With Idealism

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on February 19th at 3:53pm Universal Time. This is the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on February 4th with a New Moon in Aquarius. It will also be a Supermoon, which is when the Moon appears larger and brighter due to its closer proximity to the Earth. For those in North and South America, it appears the brightest on the night of the 18th.

A Full Moon is when we feel a push-pull between the two opposite signs where the Sun and Moon are located, in this case being Pisces and Virgo. It gradually builds up and becomes more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also  part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks.

Pisces season begins less than a day before this Full Moon occurs. It is associated with sensitivity, compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, inspiration, dreams, imagination, oneness, and idealism. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, deceptive, and is associated with escapism and intoxication.

The Moon brings in the sign of Virgo into the equation which can either be at odds with Pisces energies or could work harmoniously with them in some sort of balance. Virgo is associated with duty, service, productivity, practicality, organizing, analyzing, perfection, cleanliness, and purity. It is systematic, detailed, discerning, and good at problem solving. Negatively, Virgo can be cynical, overly critical, fussy, high strung, and too much in the the head.

Both signs are associated with health, wellness, and healing, with Virgo being more about physical health and physical modalities, while Pisces is more about spiritual/emotional health and modalities. They are adaptable signs and are both about helping others.

Full Moon Trine Mars and Uranus

This Full Moon is in a trine with Mars and Uranus which are separating from a conjunction with each other. Mars just recently entered Taurus on February 14th. Uranus is making its final transition from Aries to Taurus which will happen on March 6th, hours before the next New Moon.

The Mars-Uranus influence could signify a period of doing certain things differently or acting on new experiences. It could be about applying ourselves in a way that is more liberating, exciting, innovative, unconventional, experimental, or breaking from limitations. Considering that Uranus is changing signs, over the next few weeks there can also be some surprises, significant shifts, and sudden changes which can either be harmonious and supportive or disruptive and challenging.

The Sun will also be travelling while in a close aspect with Mars until early March, but will be strongest from February 27th-28th. With Mars in Taurus, this is a time of asserting ourselves in a way that is methodical, practical, and even sensual in some cases.

Sun and Moon Aligned With Prominent Stars

This Full Moon will be in a tight alignment with the star Regulus which is known as the ‘heart of the lion.’ This star is in the constellation of Leo but moved into the tropical sign of Virgo in 2012 and still on the cusp of those signs. It is about courage, leadership, and prominence. It is daring, proud, and can also be big hearted.

The Sun is aligned with the star Fomalhaut which is in both the constellation and sign of Pisces This star amplifies the qualities of its sign and has magical, artistic, and otherworldly qualities.

The ‘Great American Eclipse’ that occurred in August 2017 and the following Solar Eclipse in February 2018 were near the same spots of where the Sun and Moon are during this Full Moon, yet in different signs. It is possible that you may see some areas of your life get triggered over the next few weeks similarly to areas of your life that were affected over a year long period from mid 2017 until mid 2018. However, it will still be different and those eclipses had more significance overall.

Mercury In Pisces Conjunct Neptune, Sextile Venus/Saturn/Pluto, Square Jupiter and Going Retrograde In Two Weeks

Mercury begins its pre-retrograde shadow period hours before the peak of this Full Moon. Over the next few weeks, much of what plays out or develops will go through a sorting out and adjustment period throughout March until early April. I will be writing a separate article on it, you can join my mailing list here to ensure that you receive my content.

Virgo’s ruler Mercury is in the opposing sign of Pisces which is where the Sun is. It is also aligned with Neptune, a modern ruler of Pisces, which makes it even more Piscean. Mercury doesn’t perform the way it wants to when in this sign. It lessens the analytical, intellectual, and rational qualities of this planet. Instead it perceives things in a more abstract, symbolic, sensory, or intuitive way.

All the Neptune/Pisces energy can make us more dreamy, less in touch with reality, forgetful, and inhibit mental focus. Communications and thoughts can be less direct, confusing, and misunderstood. However it can also be divinely inspired, psychic, compassionate, fantasy based, or directed by emotional energy.

Mercury and Neptune are also in a sextile with Saturn, Venus, and Pluto. Usually Mercury in aspect with Saturn can be good for practical thinking and focus, however, the Neptune influence mentioned is a lot stronger here. If anything this aspect with Saturn can good for constructive effort towards ideals, visions, creativity, selfless acts, or anything to do with spirituality.

Many people can also experience increased social interactions or romantic developments that can have some significance. However, considering that the South Node and an upcoming retrograde is in the mix, some of of this could have to do with the past or perhaps old behaviours and aspirations being triggered.

Mercury is moving towards a square with Jupiter which is the traditional ruler of Pisces. We can be overly broad minded, idealistic, or even judgemental. We can overlook details easily, over-exaggerate, and overextend ourselves. However, this can also be good for learning and expanding our minds. This energy will be strongest on February 22nd in the West, and the 23rd in the East.

Chiron Returns To Aries, Will Be There Until 2027

Chiron has just re-entered Aries where it will be until April 2027. We already got a taste of this energy last year from April to September before it retrograded back into Pisces. This Full Moon is in a quincunx with Chiron, and therefore it is possible that some of the issues below might come up during this period.

Chiron is the ‘wounded healer’, it reflects our wounds, blocks, traumas, and negative patterns. However, it is also the key unlocking our untapped or suppressed potential. Through our own healing and self-awareness, we become more whole and more of who we truly are. This is what Chiron is about, it is both the roadblock and the bridge.

Collectively, Chiron is going to trigger Aries themes for the next 8 years. However, like all other astrological influences, much of how it plays out for depends on how it is interacting with your personal birth chart based on the exact time you were born.

Aries is about self-identity, independence, leadership, initiation, and assertiveness. It can be direct, competitive, combative, hot tempered, impulsive, and forceful. Our wounds and challenges connected to these things could come to help us grow, become more aware, and make positive changes. We will see more of this unfold during certain periods over the upcoming years.

This Chiron in Aries period will be the most significant for those born between February 1969 and May 1976, as well as for those born between early April and mid-October of 1968. For these groups it will bring up deeper core wounds to help facilitate the potential for healing, awareness, and empowerment. It can help to develop a constructive relationship with aspects of oneself that have either been destructive, limiting, distorted, or inhibiting.

Full Moon In Virgo: Self-Care & Growth In Relationships

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on March 1st-2nd depending on your geographic location. It will appear the fullest on the night of March 1st in most areas of the world. It will also be the first of two Full Moons in the calendar month of March, which means that at the end of the month we will be having the second Blue Moon of the year which is very rare.

This Full Moon is part of the same Moon cycle of the last Solar Eclipse in Aquarius that we had on February 15th. It is possible that some of the themes of that eclipse can still be strong and can continue over the next few weeks until the end of this lunation cycle. However, eclipse themes are generally still present over the following 4-6 months until the next series of eclipses.

We have been in Pisces season since February 18th when the Sun entered this sign. Venus and Mercury are also there and they have all been joining Neptune which has been in Pisces since 2011. In modern astrology, Neptune is considered to be a ruler or co-ruler of Pisces and can really amplify Piscean energies whenever other planets are travelling through that sign. (I generally view it as a sub-ruler depending on the astrological application).

Full Moon In Virgo Opposite Sun In Pisces

Pisces is a water sign associated with compassion, spirituality, creativity, dreams, faith, oneness, sensitivity, and imagination. It is a sign that is generally more accepting, forgiving, and has a heightened psychic receptivity. On the downside, Pisces energy can be spacey, confusing, flakey, weak willed, impractical, with a tendency to escape the hard realities of the real world.

This Full Moon is happening in its opposite sign of Virgo, triggering a need to balance these energies. A Full Moon can sometimes bring up challenges or a push-pull effect related to the signs that the Sun and Moon are occupying. However, it can also be a period of integrating these energies as well, which is ultimately what we usually want to aim for. This could be more easily done this time around due to the configuration of planets.

Virgo is an Earth sign and is more concerned with the physical world. It is practical, efficient, hard working, analytical, organized, pure, meticulous, and reliable. It is also associated with how we take care of ourselves; our lifestyle and our bodies. On the downside, Virgo energy can be overly critical, petty, and perfectionist.

Both signs are associated with healing; Virgo being connected to physical health and Pisces to spiritual and emotional health. Virgo related healing modalities include good nutrition, herbs, cleansing, physical exercise, and even conventional medicine and approaches. However, anything on the physical side would be somewhat connected to Virgo. Pisces related healing modalities include meditation techniques, energy healing on the aura/chakras and changing behavioural patterns in the subconscious mind.

For some people, this Full Moon and the next few weeks can be a good time to consider or start physical healing modalities, which also have emotional or spiritual benefits. For example, going on a cleanse or some sort of fast would be a great way to do this especially since Virgo rules the digestive system.

Mercury with Venus Both Trine Jupiter In Scorpio

During this Full Moon, Mercury and Venus are in a close conjunction with each other while in a tight trine with Jupiter in Scorpio. Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and Jupiter is the traditonal ruler of Pisces, therefore this aspect really helps to harmonize the polarity of these two signs. This is a great energy for socializing and communication with others. The Mercury-Venus-Pisces combination helps us to connect with others with love, unification, selflessness, compassion, forgiveness, as well as sharing our feelings and our values connected to any of these things.

With Jupiter in Scorpio in the mix, this can help to provide growth, expansion, and can even be transformative and explorative. This energy can also manifest as financial benefits for some people, however, because this is occuring in water signs, it leans more towards emotional connectivity with others. In some cases, this energy can even be good for making pleasurable travel plans or putting energy towards a creative marketing or educational effort.

Mercury and Venus Conjunct Chiron, Sun Conjunct Neptune

Chiron is also close to Venus and Mercury. This could emphasize many of the things already mentioned above. Chiron could also help us to heal wounds, blockages, and negative patterns around love, relationships, communication, the mind, and connection. It could also just bring up or trigger these types of wounds and help us to reflect on them. In some cases, there could be a theme of taking more of a holistic approach to these areas. This energy will be strongest on March 4th and some of it on the 5th as well.

Also on March 4th, the Sun will also be exactly conjunct Neptune which is building up now and will pick up more so on March 3rd. Spirituality and psychic receptivity will be more heightened at that time. It is a great energy for doing creative work or anything where you seek divine inspiration, imagination, and connection to ethereal energies. It could also be a good time to indulge in the creative efforts of others. Perhaps watching a good movie, going to an art show, or immersing yourself in some music that makes you feel good.

However, this energy can also be challenging when it comes to doing anything that is analytical and involves details. Ourselves or others can be less grounded, confused, forgetful, and flaky. Also, a tendency towards escapism and fantasizing can be high, which could be a good thing or bad thing depending on your approach to escaping reality and whether or not it is actually serving you. It is best to be in ‘the flow’ at that time and do things that are more conducive to this energy.

Things To Consider At This Time

What can you do to take better care of yourself both physically and spiritually? What changes do you need to make to your lifestyle to help strengthen your connection to your spiritual self? What do you need to do in order to be more grounded, efficient, organized, and practical to make your creative or spiritual efforts a reality? What can you do to help to heal your relationships with others or your own personal blockages getting in the way? Do you need to communicate with more compassion and sensitivity?

These are just some examples of what to consider at this time, however, not limited to them either. The waning Full Moon and the two weeks following can also be a good time to release things from our lives. This can also include cleansing (our bodies and spaces), detoxifying, or pursuing to heal negative patterns that do not serve you..

The exact time of this Full Moon is at 12:51am Universal Time March 2nd, which works out to be the later part of  March 1st in the Americas. The Moon begins its waning phase at that point which is usually the most potent time to initiate releasing. You can click here to see what that is for your time zone.
