Full Moon In Virgo: Practical Action

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on March 9th/10th, depending on your location. This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon in Pisces on February 23rd. The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations still play a part over the following two weeks. You may also start to see its themes slowly build up after the New Moon prior to it.

Full Moons are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Pisces. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic playing out between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Virgo side and others expressing the Pisces side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Full Moon In Virgo Opposite Sun Conjunct Neptune In Pisces

Virgo is an Earth sign ruled by Mercury. It is associated with tasks, duty, service, productivity, practicality, organizing, analyzing, perfection, physical health, cleanliness, sustainability, and purity. It is systematic, detailed, discerning, discriminating, diligent, and efficient. Virgo corresponds with problem solving, adjusting to changing conditions, and coming up with solutions. Negatively, Virgo energy can be cynical, overly critical, fussy, high strung, and too much in the head.

Pisces is a Water sign linked to Neptune and traditionally ruled by Jupiter. It is associated with sensitivity, compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, art, inspiration, dreams, imagination, oneness, and idealism. Pisces can be psychic, healing, and retreating. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, and deceptive. It is associated with escapism, intoxication of drugs/alcohol, as well as some fossil fuels such as oil and gas.

At the time of this Full Moon, and especially in the days leading up to it, the Sun is in a conjunction with Neptune. Also in the weeks prior and up until this point, Mercury has been retrograde primarily in Pisces (but currently in Aquarius). These factors accentuate the dreamy, mystical, flowy, hibernating, and even tiring Piscean qualities.  However, this Full Moon activates a lot of Earth energy which can help to balance things out.

Full Moon Trine Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, & Saturn In Capricorn

This Full Moon is in a trine aspect to all four planets that are currently in the Earth sign of Capricorn. This helps to harmoniously combine the energies Virgo-Pisces opposition mentioned above. Capricorn adds more practicality, realism, orderliness, and productivity to this Full Moon equation and also throws in the potential of structure and ambition.

The combination of these planets reflects action that can be expansive yet calculated, cautious, focused, powerful, or regenerating. Some of this energy will also come up around the Equinox when Mars joins Jupiter which can be a period in which we may want to do things in a big way or act on aspirations.

Virgo Ruler Mercury Going Direct While In Aquarius

The Ruler of Virgo, Mercury, will be in the process of transitioning out of its retrograde (which began in mid-February) during this Full Moon. The areas of our lives that have been affected by this retrograde will start to become more clear and things will eventually fall into place more easily as we progress into the coming days and weeks.

Mercury will be in Aquarius at this point and then return to Pisces a week later. Issues and perceptions associated with friends, acquaintances, groups, collective interests, ideals, spirituality, creativity, compassion, escapism, lack of boundaries, may have been some of the themes of the past month.  However, the areas of life that it affected for you also depends on how it was configured to your personal astrological blueprint.

In the first few days after it ends it can still feel like its retrograde, as complications,  confusion, or uncertainty may occur due to Mercury’s stationary position. It’s usually best to wait until at least three days afterwards before making big decisions, finalizing agreements, signing paperwork, or anything else of that nature.

Chiron Square The Lunar Nodes

Chiron is in a T-square aspect with the Lunar Nodes now and over the coming weeks. It is transitioning from being closer in proximity to the South Node towards moving closer to the North Node until they conjoin in four years from now.

In this moment of time during this square and halfway point between both sides of Lunar Nodes, it can be a great time to address and reflect on certain wounds, blockages, negative patterns, old behaviours, inadequacies, and other internal conflicts pertaining to our past that are getting in our way.

At the same time it can be an opportunity to look towards how we can move forward with these issues in a more empowering, healing, transformative, holistic, or positively integrative way. For many people this can feel like the beginning of a turning point towards achieving greater wholeness. This is a good time to be open towards any sort of modalities, practices, information/media, people, situations, or anything else that can help to facilitate this process.

Things To Consider

What has come up for during this retrograde in recent weeks and how do you currently feel as this retrograde is beginning to conclude? What can you do to make your ideals, visions, or inspirations, a reality? Do you need to achieve a greater balance between the spiritual and physical? Is there an area of your life that needs to be more organized? How can you take a more practical and productive approach while having an ideal work-life balance?

Considering the Full Moon in Virgo, Chiron square the Nodes, and the transition into the next season coming up at the Equinox, it is a good time to initiate a cleanse sometime over the next 10 days. This can be good for both physical and emotional health as well as spiritual connectivity.

Practices like fasting, eating lighter, or other cleansing protocols will fit well with this energy. I also recommend E3Live or E3AFA, which is one of the most powerful superfoods and can help to achieve both Piscean and Virgoan results. It is also good to organize, clean, and rearrange your space to improve the energy flow and the way you feel. If you want to go more deeper into this, I would recommend looking into Feng Shui.

If you wish to do any sort of intentional release, cleansing, or clearing, it is best to initiate after the peak of the Full Moon or as it is waning over the following two weeks. The exact moment of the peak will be on March 9th at 5:48pm Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Full Moon In Leo: Passion & Purpose

We are having a Full Moon in Leo on February 8th/9th, depending on your location. This is the peak of the Lunar cycle that began with a New Moon in Aquarius on January 24th/25th. The energies of a Full Moon are strongest in the days surrounding it yet its astrological configurations still play a part over the following two weeks. You may also start to see its themes build up following the New Moon prior to it.

Full Moons are a period in which we feel a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case being the Moon in Leo and the Sun in Aquarius. It can play out as either a conflict, an integration, or some sort of dynamic playing out between the energies of both signs. The Moon reflects the expression of feeling and emotion while the Sun reflects the expression of ego and conscious self.

We may feel this opposition happening individually within us and/or we can also experience it play out around us with some people (or circumstances) expressing the Leo side and others expressing the Aquarian side. In some cases, Full Moons can also reflect/trigger some sort of change or release.

Leo is a passionate Fire sign. It is about our individual self-expression, what brings us joy and inspiration.  It is associated with the heart, love, creativity, performing, fun, children, romance, hobbies, and leadership. Leo is about what makes us great as individuals and can be courageous and generous. Expressed negatively, Leo energy can also be egotistical, pompous, dramatic, and demanding of attention or respect.

Aquarius is an intellectual Air sign. It is associated with friends, groups, social networks, the team, and humanity. It views the unique and authentic qualities of an individual as an important and contributing factor to the collective. Aquarius is progressive, unconventional, innovative, technological, scientific, reforming, idealistic, and even revolutionary. Negatively, it can be aloof, overly objective, unrealistic, dispassionate, impersonal, and overly detached.

Full Moon Trine Mars, Both Moving Towards Trine to Uranus

This Full Moon is in a close applying trine with Mars in Sagittarius. This can reflect an energy that is action-oriented, assertive, lively, energetic, competitive, confident, or active. With Mars being in a Fire sign along with the Full Moon, the inspired, passionate, and fiery qualities of this element may be apparent or felt as well.

Mars in Sagittarius can be expansive, explorative, ideological, or educational in its actions. In this sign, we may feel like we want to do more than we can handle, however, Sagittarius’ ruler Jupiter is in Capricorn along with Capricorn’s ruler Saturn. This can help to mitigate the overextending nature of Sagittarius in helping our actions to be more practical and structured. This will be even more pronounced after Mars enters Capricorn on February 16th.

After Mars enters Capricorn, it will be making a trine to Uranus in Taurus which is strongest from February 18th-22nd. This energy is also directly tied into this Full Moon and may be noticeable in the 20 hours following it. This can be good for actions that are experimental, innovative, unusual, liberating, or progressive. Positive surprises and excitement may also be a theme for some people.

Venus In Aries Conjunct Chiron and Square The Lunar Nodes

Venus entered Aries a day and a half prior to this Full Moon and will be there over the following 3.5 weeks. We may be more proactive, bold, direct, spontaneous, passionate, independent, self-oriented, and competitive in our relations with others or in matters pertaining to love. However, we need to be cautious about being too impulsive when it comes to spending money and/or regarding pleasure.

Venus is in a conjunction with Chiron which is strongest in the 2 days following this Full Moon. At best this can bring themes connected to wholeness and healing around love, friendships, values, money, aesthetics, or pleasures. This can also reflect taking an integrative or maverick approach in these areas.

Venus will be in a square with the Lunar Nodes which is strongest from February 13th-14th but may be felt in the days leading up to that. We may feel like we are at a crossroads in areas pertaining to relationships, money, values, or aesthetics.

This may be a period of breaking from the old and moving towards something new or a different approach. We may be considering the factors of the past and present, and how to pave the  way for the future. Developments or connections made at this time can have a strong karmic theme.

Mercury Going Retrograde, Jupiter Sextile Neptune

Mercury is slowing down to go retrograde on February 16th/17th mostly in Pisces and partially in Aquarius. The pre-shadow period began on February 2nd. It’s good to keep in mind that certain things that are occurring in your life in the first half of February may be directly connected to some sort of retrograde process that is coming up. Perhaps a reorientation, revisitation, reworking, seeing things in a different way, or finding something out that you were unaware of may come up from mid-February until mid-March.

As we get closer to the 16th it is good to be flexible and patient. The common retrograde complications can gradually become stronger from now until the retrograde begins. I will be writing a separate article on this retrograde. You can click here to join my mailing list to get notified when it is published.

Jupiter in Capricorn is moving towards its first of three sextiles to Neptune in 2020. This upcoming one will be strong from February 14th-26th with it peaking on the 19th-20th.  This energy can be expansive and explorative both spiritually and creatively. It can also be good for idealistic pursuits/experiences, or anything involving putting time, energy, or resources toward helping others in need.

Mercury going retrograde in the Neptunian sign of Pisces can accentuate this aspect even more so. Jupiter being in Capricorn helps us with a grounded approach and for many people this aspect may be reflected in business matters or ambitions.

Things To Consider

How can you better tap into your authentic self-expression? What inspires and brings you joy? What creative outlets do you like to express? What can you do to have more fun in your life? What are you passionate about? How does your authenticity fit into the group, and/or best serve the collective or idealistic interests? What can you do to bring healing and/or wholeness to matters of love or friendships?

These are just some examples of what you may be experiencing during this period; however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out. If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up it is best to do so anytime after the peak of the Full Moon or as it is waning over the following two weeks. The exact moment of the peak will be on February 9th at 7:33am Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Supermoon In Virgo: Balancing Practical Matters With Idealism

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on February 19th at 3:53pm Universal Time. This is the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on February 4th with a New Moon in Aquarius. It will also be a Supermoon, which is when the Moon appears larger and brighter due to its closer proximity to the Earth. For those in North and South America, it appears the brightest on the night of the 18th.

A Full Moon is when we feel a push-pull between the two opposite signs where the Sun and Moon are located, in this case being Pisces and Virgo. It gradually builds up and becomes more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also  part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks.

Pisces season begins less than a day before this Full Moon occurs. It is associated with sensitivity, compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, inspiration, dreams, imagination, oneness, and idealism. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, deceptive, and is associated with escapism and intoxication.

The Moon brings in the sign of Virgo into the equation which can either be at odds with Pisces energies or could work harmoniously with them in some sort of balance. Virgo is associated with duty, service, productivity, practicality, organizing, analyzing, perfection, cleanliness, and purity. It is systematic, detailed, discerning, and good at problem solving. Negatively, Virgo can be cynical, overly critical, fussy, high strung, and too much in the the head.

Both signs are associated with health, wellness, and healing, with Virgo being more about physical health and physical modalities, while Pisces is more about spiritual/emotional health and modalities. They are adaptable signs and are both about helping others.

Full Moon Trine Mars and Uranus

This Full Moon is in a trine with Mars and Uranus which are separating from a conjunction with each other. Mars just recently entered Taurus on February 14th. Uranus is making its final transition from Aries to Taurus which will happen on March 6th, hours before the next New Moon.

The Mars-Uranus influence could signify a period of doing certain things differently or acting on new experiences. It could be about applying ourselves in a way that is more liberating, exciting, innovative, unconventional, experimental, or breaking from limitations. Considering that Uranus is changing signs, over the next few weeks there can also be some surprises, significant shifts, and sudden changes which can either be harmonious and supportive or disruptive and challenging.

The Sun will also be travelling while in a close aspect with Mars until early March, but will be strongest from February 27th-28th. With Mars in Taurus, this is a time of asserting ourselves in a way that is methodical, practical, and even sensual in some cases.

Sun and Moon Aligned With Prominent Stars

This Full Moon will be in a tight alignment with the star Regulus which is known as the ‘heart of the lion.’ This star is in the constellation of Leo but moved into the tropical sign of Virgo in 2012 and still on the cusp of those signs. It is about courage, leadership, and prominence. It is daring, proud, and can also be big hearted.

The Sun is aligned with the star Fomalhaut which is in both the constellation and sign of Pisces This star amplifies the qualities of its sign and has magical, artistic, and otherworldly qualities.

The ‘Great American Eclipse’ that occurred in August 2017 and the following Solar Eclipse in February 2018 were near the same spots of where the Sun and Moon are during this Full Moon, yet in different signs. It is possible that you may see some areas of your life get triggered over the next few weeks similarly to areas of your life that were affected over a year long period from mid 2017 until mid 2018. However, it will still be different and those eclipses had more significance overall.

Mercury In Pisces Conjunct Neptune, Sextile Venus/Saturn/Pluto, Square Jupiter and Going Retrograde In Two Weeks

Mercury begins its pre-retrograde shadow period hours before the peak of this Full Moon. Over the next few weeks, much of what plays out or develops will go through a sorting out and adjustment period throughout March until early April. I will be writing a separate article on it, you can join my mailing list here to ensure that you receive my content.

Virgo’s ruler Mercury is in the opposing sign of Pisces which is where the Sun is. It is also aligned with Neptune, a modern ruler of Pisces, which makes it even more Piscean. Mercury doesn’t perform the way it wants to when in this sign. It lessens the analytical, intellectual, and rational qualities of this planet. Instead it perceives things in a more abstract, symbolic, sensory, or intuitive way.

All the Neptune/Pisces energy can make us more dreamy, less in touch with reality, forgetful, and inhibit mental focus. Communications and thoughts can be less direct, confusing, and misunderstood. However it can also be divinely inspired, psychic, compassionate, fantasy based, or directed by emotional energy.

Mercury and Neptune are also in a sextile with Saturn, Venus, and Pluto. Usually Mercury in aspect with Saturn can be good for practical thinking and focus, however, the Neptune influence mentioned is a lot stronger here. If anything this aspect with Saturn can good for constructive effort towards ideals, visions, creativity, selfless acts, or anything to do with spirituality.

Many people can also experience increased social interactions or romantic developments that can have some significance. However, considering that the South Node and an upcoming retrograde is in the mix, some of of this could have to do with the past or perhaps old behaviours and aspirations being triggered.

Mercury is moving towards a square with Jupiter which is the traditional ruler of Pisces. We can be overly broad minded, idealistic, or even judgemental. We can overlook details easily, over-exaggerate, and overextend ourselves. However, this can also be good for learning and expanding our minds. This energy will be strongest on February 22nd in the West, and the 23rd in the East.

Chiron Returns To Aries, Will Be There Until 2027

Chiron has just re-entered Aries where it will be until April 2027. We already got a taste of this energy last year from April to September before it retrograded back into Pisces. This Full Moon is in a quincunx with Chiron, and therefore it is possible that some of the issues below might come up during this period.

Chiron is the ‘wounded healer’, it reflects our wounds, blocks, traumas, and negative patterns. However, it is also the key unlocking our untapped or suppressed potential. Through our own healing and self-awareness, we become more whole and more of who we truly are. This is what Chiron is about, it is both the roadblock and the bridge.

Collectively, Chiron is going to trigger Aries themes for the next 8 years. However, like all other astrological influences, much of how it plays out for depends on how it is interacting with your personal birth chart based on the exact time you were born.

Aries is about self-identity, independence, leadership, initiation, and assertiveness. It can be direct, competitive, combative, hot tempered, impulsive, and forceful. Our wounds and challenges connected to these things could come to help us grow, become more aware, and make positive changes. We will see more of this unfold during certain periods over the upcoming years.

This Chiron in Aries period will be the most significant for those born between February 1969 and May 1976, as well as for those born between early April and mid-October of 1968. For these groups it will bring up deeper core wounds to help facilitate the potential for healing, awareness, and empowerment. It can help to develop a constructive relationship with aspects of oneself that have either been destructive, limiting, distorted, or inhibiting.
