New Moon In Aries: Taking Bold Action

We are having a New Moon in Aries during the later hours of April 11th in the Americas and on the 12th everywhere else in the world. This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle and new wave of energy for the coming month; however, the astrological configurations mentioned throughout this article will be more prominent over the following two weeks. This cycle will include a Full Moon in Scorpio on April 26th/27th.

Aries season began at the Equinox (on March 20th globally this year) as it always does, as per the framework of the Tropical Zodiac. Being the first of twelve signs, and initiator of a transitional season, it begins the Astrological New Year. However with this New Moon actually occurring in Aries as well, it will crank up the energies of this sign even more so in comparison to the previous weeks that were initiated by a New Moon in Pisces.

Aries is the domain of self, independence, and individual needs. As a Cardinal Fire sign ruled by Mars, it is assertive, courageous, direct, pioneering, and leading. It is initiating, quick, bold, energetic, and warrior-like. Negatively, this energy can be inconsiderate, selfish,  hot tempered, combative, restless, impatient, aggressive, and overly competitive. Aries lacks thoroughness due to its quick forward energy. .

New Moon Conjunct Mercury & Venus In Aries

This New Moon is close to both Mercury and Venus. This can reflect a period in which our social interactions and engagement with others can be more lively. Both Mercury and Aries have a busy moving type of energy and we may feel more active, physically and/or mentally, as a result.

The conjunction of both of these planets with this New Moon also means it is tied into cycles that each of those planets have with the Sun. Venus recently joined the Sun in the last week of March and it is now travelling ahead of it in zodiacal position.

In recent weeks this has been a time in which we experienced shifts, developments, endings, beginnings, or more clarity around Venus areas of friends, love, social dynamics, values, worth, or financial matters in some cases. This New Moon and the weeks following can continue this process, especially when it comes to beginnings or newer ways of expressing ourselves in these areas.

Mercury is now approaching the Sun as they will make their conjunction on April 18th/19th. At that time we may experience developments, which may be significant, connected to what has transpired during its previous retrograde in February and how things have unfolded since then. From there, these things may develop further with a better perception, or circumstances may indicate lack of sufficiency, not what was anticipated, or that something needs to change.

Planets In Aries Square Pluto & Sextile Mars Trine Jupiter

This New Moon, along with Venus and Mercury, are in a square with Pluto and sextile with Mars and Jupiter. Pluto combined with Aries and Mars energy can reflect a period of intensity. However, it can also play out as issues around power, control, manipulation, jealousy, insubordination, or subversion.  It can also be revealing, psychological, compulsive, transforming, and purging.

The sextile with Mars in Gemini adds to the lively, assertive, instinctual, and energetic expressions of Aries. The Aries’ planets sextile to Jupiter, which is also trine Mars, can be good for applying ourselves in a way that is expansive, optimistic, educational, philosophical, explorative, freedom seeking, or centered around beliefs. New doors may open up and it can even be lucky for some people.

Uranus square Saturn (mentioned here in a previous article) is still in the backdrop as it will be throughout the year. Although it’s not in one of its strong periods, themes of ‘freedom/rebellion/revolution being at odds restrictions/limitations/traditions are still playing out. This may get activated in different ways by this new lunar cycle and the Aries energy that has already been present over the previous weeks following the Astrological New Year.

Making Intentions & Things To Consider

How would you like to grow and expand and what do you need to change to get there? In what areas do you need to be more bold or courageous? What have your relationships shown you in recent weeks? What is important for your individuality? What are your personal needs? What do you stand for and should you be fighting for it? Do you need to be a leader in any aspects of your life? Are there any new things that you want to explore?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time. However, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. The exact moment it will occur is 2:31am Universal Time on April 12th. New Moon In Aries: Pursuing Wholeness

We are having a New Moon in Aries on March 24th. This is initiating a new 29.5-day lunar cycle and a new wave of energy for the coming month. However, the astrological configurations mentioned in this article will be more prominent over the coming two weeks. This cycle will include a Full Moon in Libra on April 7th/8th.

Before getting into the astrology of this New Moon, a lot of people have been asking me about the current coronavirus pandemic and my perspectives on it. It is very much connected to the previous Lunar Eclipse, Solar Eclipse, and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction (which happened at the same time) that I wrote about. The energies of eclipses can play out at different times in the 6 month period after they occur.

The recent Mercury Retrograde in Pisces/Aquarius (and its post shadow period) reflected the escalation and increased awareness of this situation along with some further confusion. In the days after the Mercury Retrograde ended (during the last Full Moon period in Virgo), we gained some more clarity (or perceived clarity) around the seriousness (or perceived seriousness) of the situation which lead to the majority of the world beginning to take extreme precautions and the financial markets going haywire. All of this fits like clockwork with the astrological weather. Check out my video below in which I talk about it more.

New Moon In Aries Conjunct Chiron

Aries season began at the Equinox as it always does per the Tropical Zodiac. Being the first of twelve signs and initiator of a transitional season (following the transitional sign of Pisces) it initiates the Astrological New Year.

Aries is the domain of self, independence, and individual needs. As a Cardinal Fire sign ruled by Mars, it is associated with assertiveness, courage, directness, pioneering, and leading. It is quick, bold, and energetic. Negatively, this energy can be inconsiderate, selfish,  hot tempered, combative, restless, impatient, aggressive, and overly competitive.

This New Moon is applying a conjunction to Chiron (also in Aries) which makes its themes very strong throughout this lunar cycle, but more so over the following two weeks. Chiron is associated with healing, wholeness, cleansing, spiritual growth, gifted abilities, innovative solutions/ideas, shamanism, self-awareness, discovery, teaching, and indigenous people.

It is holistic, maverick, bridging, integrating, creative, unorthodox, paradoxical, and about bringing things together that are quite different from each other and wouldn’t be expected to mesh well. Chiron also reflects dilemmas, spiritual or physical wounds, blockages, negative patterns, disease, pain, suffering, and parts of the whole which have been fragmented.

Chiron related issues (as mentioned above) can be getting in the way (or we may perceive it like that) of us reaching our potential. With it being in Aries, these challenges may be connected to the themes and qualities of that sign. Chiron related issues want to be overcome or handled more positively which can help to open other doors. They can be transmuted into gifts, abilities, awareness, and further spiritual embodiment.

New Moon and Chiron Square The Lunar Nodes

The New Moon and Chiron are also in a square with the Lunar Nodes. Chiron has also recently transitioned from being closer to the South Node in Capricorn to now being closer to the North Node in Cancer as it moves in that direction. This configuration with the Nodes can reflect being at a crossroads with the energies of these opposing signs as well as between the past and the future.

Ultimately this is helping to push us to focus more on the Cancerian qualities and areas of life, while reducing Capricorn areas and/or letting go of its negative qualities. More beneficial developments and growth can occur when we do this and it may also help us to tap more into Chiron’s positive traits and healing potential.

When we focus on the Capricorn side we may face more challenges and may also be inhibited by Chiron’s negative expressions which can be getting in the way of our potential. However, this can also call for some sort of positive (or win-win) integration between both sides of this polarity. If so, then the emphasis is to be on Cancerian themes while expressions of Capricorn are fulfilling the Cancer focal point.

Cancer is about home, security, protection, emotion, instinct, family, nurturing, caring, emotional support, and sensitivity, and other domestic aspects of life. Capricorn is associated with goals, ambitions, career, duty, productivity, business, government, critical thinking, banking, orderliness, structure, consolidation, conservation, and determination. Negatively expressed, it can be cold, aloof, pessimistic, overly concerned with social standing, or flaunt status and achievement.

This can also be a good time to reflect on the wounds of our past to help us in how to proceed into a more empowering future. Be open towards any sort of modalities, practices, information/media, journaling, people, situations, or anything else that can help to facilitate this process.

Saturn Just Entered Aquarius, In A Sextile With This New Moon

Saturn, the planet of restrictions, boundaries, limitations, responsibilities, commitments, discipline, maturity, and the elderly, recently moved into Aquarius, the social sign of groups, the collective, humanity, intellect, technology, and innovation. It is in a connecting aspect to this New Moon in the self-oriented sign of Aries conjunct the healing, impairing, and maverick Chiron.

Saturn literally entered Aquarius just over two days prior to this New Moon after being in Capricorn since late December 2017. However, Saturn will re-enter Capricorn in early July after it goes retrograde in the 2nd week of May. It will then re-enter Aquarius in mid-December where it will stay until early 2023. By that point, it will be fully in that sign instead of in between signs and will notice its energy even more strongly and likely other different ways than we are currently.

With Saturn going into this, perhaps certain things that are going on now, in these coming months or late in the year can be seeding something pertaining to how Saturn in Aquarius will play out. for us. I will be covering more about this energy and its significant upcoming astrological configurations in my future content. Join my mailing list here to get notified when my work gets released.

Making Intentions & Things To Consider

How can you use this period to overcome old wounds, blockages, and your negative expressions to assist you in reaching your potential and achieving wholeness? Do you have issues around independence, individual needs, or sense of self that need to be addressed? What can you do to be more caring and nurturing without sacrificing while still considering and acting on your personal needs and self-development? Are there any aspects of your ambitions, career, social status, that are getting in your way of emotional fulfillment?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time. However, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. The exact moment it will occur is 9:28am Universal Time on March 24th. New Moon In Aries: Moving Forward In New Ways

We are having a New Moon in Aries on April 15th/16th, depending on where you are located in the world. New Moon’s are the start of a new 29.5 day Lunar Cycle which ushers in a new wave of energy for the coming month. The themes of this New Moon are strongest over the following 10 days until we start to transition into the energies of the next Full Moon.

Mercury has ended its retrograde approximately 16 hours before this New Moon making this period extra significant in terms of a new forward momentum based on what has transpired during that time. This retrograde started on March 22/23, and although it can sometimes bring challenges and problems with communication, technology, schedules, commuting/vehicles, devices/appliances, its effect on our personal development is to help facilitate realizations, revisitation, and/or adjustments in certain areas of our lives.

At the transition from retrograde to forward (direct) Mercury is ‘stationary’ which is when it appears nearly stopped in its orbit from our vantage point on Earth. It will slowly begin to move forward as it travels again through the same part of the zodiac as it was during the retrograde period until May 3rd. This is known as the ‘post shadow’ period which is when some of the themes and challenges of the retrograde get resolved and/or we achieve greater clarity around the areas of our lives that have been affected.

New Moon In Aries Conjunct Uranus

This New Moon is in the same sign which Mercury’s retrograde occurred in. When considering this and the fact that it is in the sign of Aries, it really which emphasizes the moving forward themes and can even facilitate a fresh start as Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.

The Aries themes that have come up during the retrograde, and continue to play out over the coming weeks in this moon cycle, has to do with how we assert ourselves, our independence, our self-interests, and our individuality. In some cases, it could be connected to how we apply leadership or it could even have to do with how we handle aggression and anger. However, the areas of life that have been affected for you also depends on how it has been interacting with your natal birth chart based on your birth time.

This New Moon is applying towards a close conjunction with Uranus, which will definitely add its flavour to this lunar cycle. Uranus brings itS themes of breakthroughs, freedom, separation, rebellion, innovation, instability, new experiences, excitement, surprises, as well as sudden changes or disruptions. This energy will be strong in the first  3-4 days following this New Moon, however, because Uranus will also be at the very last degree of Aries during the second half of this lunar cycle, this energy will also be extra heightened from the end of April until mid-late May when it transitions into Taurus.

Chiron Going Into Aries

As mentioned above, these coming weeks are a period of moving forward in new ways related to Aries energy. However, it is important to note that Chiron enters Aries a few days later on April 17th which will bring long term healing themes in connection with this sign. It will be there until 2027.

Known as ‘the wounded healer’, Chiron is a slow moving body (planetoid) and will not have the same short term ‘in your face’ effects as Mercury Retrograde. This is a nine year process of addressing wounds related to Aries energy (mentioned above), however, with Aries being associated with assertion, it can also be a period in which we can take new action towards our wounds which may have also been a theme for many people in the previous moon cycle leading up to this.

Saturn Going Retrograde

This previous Mercury retrograde had been in a square with Saturn in Capricorn as it has been slowing down to begin a retrograde on its own, starting on April 17/18th and lasting until September 6th. The themes of Mercury’s retrograde are feeding into the themes of Saturn’s retrograde.

There may be some changes or a shift in perspective around Saturn themes of commitments, responsibilities, goals, ambitions, discipline, structures, and perhaps career. Once Saturn’s retrograde period ends in late Summer, another shift around these things will take place based on what has transpired. During this transition period at the beginning rand end of retrogrades of outer planets (such as Saturn)  is when these themes are the strongest, especially in this case considering that Mercury triggered it.

Jupiter Sextile Pluto With Venus Involved, Pluto Also Going Retrograde

At the time of this New Moon, Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio has been in its second sextile with Pluto. It is possible that some of the experiences we have been having in the recent and upcoming weeks could be connected to what has transpired in January when the first sextile occurred. This energy is about exploration, awareness, or inward growth related to the deeper qualities of ourselves and areas of life. Deep study as well as empowerment and may also be a theme here.

Pluto is also slowing down in preparation for its retrograde phase which will begin on April 22nd and last until September 30th. During this transition period, we may experience a shift or reflections around Pluto related themes connected to power, control, sex, reproduction, death, hidden matters, secrets, obsessiveness, desires, money/resources, or even the darker qualities of our lives. It’s sextile with Jupiter in Scorpio emphasizes some of this and can also help to facilitate some sort of transformational energy as well.

Venus is tied into this in the days following the New Moon as it is moving towards an opposition with Jupiter and trine with Pluto. This can apply growth, depth, understanding, and some of the other themes mentioned above around our relationships, finances, and values. However, it doesn’t necessarily have the same long term effects as the Jupiter-Pluto energy on its own.

Making Intentions And Things To Consider

What have you realized in the last month and how do you need to move forward based on what has transpired? What have learned about your individual needs? What do you need to liberate yourself from? In what ways do you need to take a new type of action? Do you need to be more bold and courageous? What new types of activities or experiences do you feel can help you move forward in your life?

What area of your life is calling for some sort of transformation? What can you do to be more empowered? How can you take action towards your wounds? What do you need to shift or consider around your commitments, responsibilities, long term goals, ambitions, or structures? What areas of your life require more discipline or focus?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions around at this time. However, this can also be a period set any intentions you like, especially for the upcoming year, as this is the first New Moon of the zodiacal year in the initiating sign of Aries. The exact time of this New Moon is at 1:57am Universal Time on April 16th. You can click here to see when that is in your time zone.
