Solar Eclipse In Cancer: Cultivating Empathy

We are having a Total Solar Eclipse in Cancer which happens on July 2nd in the Western world and July 3rd in the East. It will be visible from the majority of South America as well as Panama and Costa Rica. The path of totality will cross over parts of Chile and Argentina which is where the Sun will be completely covered by the Moon. It will appear as a partial eclipse in the other locations mentioned.

A Solar Eclipse is a supercharged New Moon which influences a longer term period then a regular New Moon. This one marks the beginning of this eclipse season which happens every 6 months. This is when we have a New Moon and a Full Moon occur near the Lunar Nodes, which is where the path of the Sun and Moon meet from our perspective on Earth. It will be followed by a Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on July 16th/17th. (Join my mailing list here to get my article on the next eclipse and other content).

Solar Eclipses reflect changes and shifts which affect the 6 months following and could also influence up to 6 weeks prior. You may or may not see the effects of it around the time it occurs, but you may feel it and then see it actually play out in the weeks or months following.

However, each Lunar Node period lasts approximately 2 years which is when we have a series of eclipses re-occurring in the same signs, therefore some of the related themes that are playing out could last that long. The Lunar Nodes moved into the Cancer-Capricorn polarity in November 2018 and will be there until Spring 2020. However, this eclipse is the most potent one in Cancer of this process. The final eclipses in Cancer-Capricorn will occur in the Summer of 2020 and will influence the following months.

The positions of the Eclipses and the Nodes reflect an evolutionary process in how we work with the energies of these signs. What results from this series of eclipses will have longer-term effects even beyond this period.

Solar Eclipse In Cancer Opposite Saturn and Trine Neptune

The shifts reflected in this eclipse and upcoming ones influencing us until late 2020 are connected to Cancerian energy. As a water sign, Cancer is associated with emotion, feelings, and intuition.

It is about nurturing, sensitivity, bonding, family, domestic life, security, comforts, and nostalgia. It is instinctual and protective yet can also be vulnerable, insecure, smothering, subjective, clingy, overly emotional, and attached to the past.

This eclipse opposes Saturn in Capricorn which is aligned with the South Node. Generally, we can be going through a period in which we may experience challenges and obstacles that  may be connected to ambitions, career, responsibilities, business, structures, boundaries, or social status. This will be strong until early Fall but could also play out longer in some cases. This energy will also be triggered on July 9th.

These challenges that can be coming up are likely going to help to facilitate some sort of endings or release that will unfold over the coming months. This eclipse shows that the changes and evolution in how we express Cancerian energy in new ways can be connected to how these obstacles affect us.

Alternatively, we may also experience a push-pull between mundane responsibilities and emotional needs. There may be challenges when it comes to balancing both, however, it can also be about integrating more Cancerian energy into our ambitions as well.

The eclipse is also in a trine with Neptune. Although the Saturn influence can reflect obstacles and challenges, Neptune in the equation can bring a theme of compassion, empathy, inspiration, selflessness, and oneness. Our intuitions can be stronger than normal and it can also be great for creative and spiritual pursuits. This will be strong from July 10th-11th.

Mercury Going Retrograde Soon, Mars Aspecting Mercury, Uranus and Chiron

Mercury will be going retrograde on July 7th/8th for three and a half weeks. It will begin in Leo but will mostly be in Cancer. This emphasizes some sort of reorientation of how we express the energies of this sign as also indicated by the Eclipse. Issues of the past may resurface to help address this and it will be a period in which we can see things in a different way.

Mars enters Leo less than a day prior to this eclipse and will join Mercury from July 7th-9th as it begins its retrograde. The beginning of retrogrades generally have more complications, and having Mars there can amplify the potential of irritability. We could have a tendency to make hurried decisions and it would be wise to not do so if there is risk involved.

Our thoughts, communications, and even commuting can have more of an aggressive tone and there can also be ego based conflicts. The best way to utilize this is to use our drive and revisit some sort of creative effort or self-expression. Issues pertaining to romance, sex, or children may also come up for some people.

From July 10th-12th, Mars will be in a square with Uranus and trine with Chiron. At best this can be good for actions that are innovative, unconventional, or holistically oriented. However, we may also experience disruptions and changes and would need to be flexible.

Although there will be a harmonious Neptune influence (mentioned above) at the same time, there can also be potential to feel rebellious and impulsive. Considering the retrograde, we need to be cautious about our actions. If something comes up that we want to change, make sure it feels right inside.

Things To Consider

Keep in mind that Eclipses are different than regular New Moons and they are not necessarily a time to be making intentions. It is best to just try to tune into it and pay attention to your feelings and what is coming up to help you in navigating the upcoming months to serve you in your personal evolution. The themes of the Eclipse will be connected to Cancerian energies, however, it also depends on how it is interacting with your personal astrology chart based on the day and time of your birth.

Here are some suggestions of things that you can be considering at this time. Do you need to be more empathic in how you relate with others? Have you been suppressing your emotional energy and feelings? If so, what problems has it been creating for you and what are possible solutions? Do you have comforts or addictions that are getting in the way? Do you need to be more nurturing and caring? Do you need to put more attention towards family, loved ones, or domestic life? Is the fear of being vulnerable inhibiting your growth, healing, or needed experiences?

The Eclipse will peak in Totality at 7:23pm and will begin just 2.5 hours prior. The exact time of this New Moon will be at 7:16pm Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Solar Eclipse In Capricorn: Redefining Ambitions & Duties

We are having a partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn which happens on January 5th in the Americas and on January 6th everywhere else in the world. This is a supercharged New Moon which influences a longer term period then a regular New Moon. It will be visible from Japan, Korea, most of Mongolia, parts of Central and Eastern China, and Southwestern Alaska.

This one marks the beginning of eclipse season which occurs every 6 months when a New Moon and Full Moon occur near the Lunar Nodes, which is where the path of the Sun and Moon meet from our perspective on Earth. Most of the time there are two eclipses, such as in January, however there can also be three in some cases. This one is followed by a Total Lunar Eclipse in Leo on January 20th/21st.

Solar Eclipses reflect changes and shifts which affect the 6 months following and could also influence up to 6 weeks prior. You may not actually notice the effects around the time it occurs, but perhaps could feel it, and then see it actually play out in the weeks or months following. (Join my mailing list here to get my article on the next eclipse and other content).

The Lunar Nodes recently moved into the Cancer-Capricorn polarity in November and will be there until Spring 2020. They were in Leo-Aquarius prior to that, since May 2017. However, we had our first Cancer eclipse last summer and will have our last Leo eclipse coming up in a few weeks as this is still the transition period. The final eclipses in Cancer-Capricorn will occur in the Summer of 2020.

The positions of the Eclipses and the Nodes reflect an evolutionary process in how we work with the energies of these signs. What results from this series of eclipses will have longer-term effects even beyond this period.

Solar Eclipse In Capricorn Conjunct Saturn and Pluto

This Solar Eclipse is on the South Node side of the polarity. The shifts that could occur, both challenges and developments, are more about  changes or what we need to let go of, in relation to the energies of Capricorn to help facilitate a different balance with Cancer.

Negative expressions of Capricorn could come up which would ultimately push these changes on us. However, South Node eclipses can also push us to work with its energies in a different and more positive way as well. The areas of life in which it manifests also depends on how it is interacting with your natal astrology chart/blueprint.

Capricorn is the sign of ambition, career, duty, business, achievement, responsibility, discipline, mastery, and governance. It can be conservative, calculated, practical, orderly, realistic, authoritative, controlling, cautious, and worldly. It is a social climber and concerned with status. Capricorn energy can be serious, cold, and unrelenting.

This eclipse is occurring close to Saturn and Pluto which are also in the same sign. With Saturn being the ruler of Capricorn, it emphasizes some of the themes mentioned in the previous paragraph. It can also trigger issues connected to boundaries, restrictions, and structures.

Pluto’s energies also come into the equation and also amplifies some Capricorn themes. Its energy is powerful, transformative, deep, evolutionary, resourceful, and sexual.

It can also be obsessive, controlling, intense, manipulative, dark, destructive, and jealous. It rules over secrets, hidden matters, desires, the unconscious mind, and the underworld. It can also represent psychoanalysis, shadow selves, purging, death and rebirth. Some of these themes may come up from January 10th-11th or even around January 18th/19th.

Both Saturn and Pluto are real and serious energies. They can really emphasize ending, releasing, and constricting, especially with all of this energy occurring near the South Node in Capricorn.

Solar Eclipse Sextile Neptune, Jupiter Square Neptune

This Eclipse (with Saturn) is also in a harmonious sextile with Neptune which can help to ease some of the hard energy of Saturn and Pluto although its influence is more subtle. The shifts and developments reflected by this eclipse could play out through harmonizing ideals, spirituality, sensitivity, or compassion with our material goals or duties.

Jupiter in Sagittarius is moving towards a square with Neptune. This is one main astrological transits of this year and lasts until early fall. It peaks from January 8th-18th, and is also strong again in mid June and then in mid-late September.

At best this energy can be inspiring and compassionate. Expansive pursuits such as learning or travel may be based around beliefs, faith, spirituality, and creativity. This can be great for mystical experiences. However, it is a square which can easily bring the more challenging manifestations of this combination such as being unrealistic, lack of attention to detail, overly idealistic, or perhaps overindulging in escapist or intoxicating behaviour.

Uranus Going Direct, Mercury Square Mars, Venus Quincunx Uranus

Uranus is nearly stopped in the sky as it will be ending its retrograde which began in August and going forward again on January 6th. It entered Taurus in May and then returned to Aries where it is currently, and now will be on its way again to Taurus (enters early March) where it will stay until 2026.

During the weeks around when it changes motion, like it is currently, Uranus themes can come up strongly. There can be some surprises, liberating actions, or beginning to move forward in an innovative way. It can also manifest as shake ups, disruptions, separation, or rebellion. Globally, sometimes natural or man made disasters could occur when Uranus is highlighted.

Mercury recently entered Capricorn while in a square with Mars newly in Aries. Our communications and minds can be very energetic, productive, yet impulsive. We can move around a lot handling errands. However, conflicts, arguments, impatience, and competitiveness can also occur more easily. Ideas can be challenged and spoken word can be aggressive. This peaks January 7th-8th.

Venus is in a quincunx with Uranus which is strongest during this eclipse. Any of the Uranus energies (mentioned two paragraphs above) that manifest could have a challenging effect on relationships, money, aesthetics, or pleasures. Some adjustments may be required due to changes that come up. Venus is also in a trine with Chiron which can have a healing effect on relations or values, or perhaps people coming together that wouldn’t normally so.

Making Intentions And Things To Consider

What do you to need change when it comes to how you handle your duties, ambitions, or career? Have you been too limiting, serious, overworked, cautious, or calculated at the expense of emotional fulfillment or having a more joyous life? What attitudes, behaviors, obsessions, or types of actions do you need to change, transform, or purge so that you can truly expand? What aspects of your life do you need to be more realistic about?

These are just some examples of what to consider during this time. However, keep in mind that the energies of this eclipse will be a part of the backdrop over the next 6 months and some of the themes connected to this eclipse may not be as apparent yet.

If you wish to make any intentions, it is generally best to do so within the first 24 hours following the New Moon/Solar Eclipse. The exact/peak time of it will be at 1:28am Universal Time on January 6th which is January 5th in the Americas. Click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Full Moon In Cancer: Emotional Needs & Responsibilities

We are having a Full Moon in Cancer on December 22nd which marks the peak of the current lunar cycle that began on December 7th with a New Moon in Sagittarius. It is also occurring less than a day after the exact moment of the Solstice, which has traditionally been viewed as a spiritually potent and sacred time of year. It marks the beginning of Capricorn of the Tropical Zodiac and a new season.

The energies of a Full Moon gradually build up earlier in the Moon cycle and become more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also a part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks. This is when we feel a push-pull between the two opposite signs where the Sun and Moon are located, in this case being Capricorn and Cancer.

Capricorn is the sign of ambitions, duties, career, productivity, and discipline. It is authoritative, cautious, prudent, practical, orderly, masterful, worldly, realistic, and a social climber. Capricorn can also be cold, narrow minded, controlling, pessimistic, cynical, and overly concerned with status.

Cancer is the sign of family, domestic needs, emotional sensitivity, nurturing, and nostalgia. It is caring, motherly, empathic, instinctual, intuitive and protective. Cancer can also be moody, clingy, insecure, vulnerable, as well as overly subjective.

They are both Cardinal signs which are initiating as they each initiate in their own ways mentioned above. Another thing they have in common is that they can both be manipulating when trying to get what they want; which would be emotional comfort for Cancer and material/status/career gain for Capricorn.

Full Moon Opposite Saturn With Wide Grand Trine To Neptune and Venus

After the exact moment of the Full Moon, it is moving towards an opposition with Saturn which peaks in the 16 hours following, but still influences the coming weeks. Saturn being the ruler of Capricorn reinforces many of its themes mentioned above, however, it can also reflect restrictions, limitations, obstacles, inhibitions, emotional dissatisfaction, or perhaps issues around boundaries. Some of its themes will also be strong around January 1st-2nd.

Although the opposition to Saturn is the primary dominating planetary aspect during this Lunation, the Moon is also moving towards a very wide grand trine to Neptune and Venus. Aside from the potential challenges mentioned, this period can also be magical socially or romantically, and perhaps even creatively or aesthetically stimulating. Social interactions that are less influenced by the Saturn vibes can be more compassionate. We got a taste of this energy on December 21st, however, the Full Moon is activating it too somewhat.

Mercury Finishing Post Retrograde While Square Neptune, Venus Sextile Pluto

Mercury in Sagittarius is finishing up its ‘post retrograde shadow’ period on December 24th. Over the last few weeks and over the coming days, some of the themes that have come up during the retrograde (November 16th-December 6th) may conclude in some way.

Mercury is returning to a square with Neptune (will be exact also on December 24th/25th) which originally occurred just before and after it began its previous retrograde. At best, this can stimulate imagination, inspiration, and intuition. It may also reinforce some of the energy mentioned in the previous section with Venus and Neptune.

However, it is a square and therefore our thoughts and communications can also be confusing, unrealistic, delusional, deceptive, or flaky.  It can make it harder to focus mentally on anything mundane. In some cases, it is possible that the strong Saturn energy mentioned could flare up because of potential manifestations of the Mercury-Neptune configuration.

Venus in Scorpio is moving towards a sextile with Pluto which will be strongest on December 28th. Generally this energy isn’t too strong, however, it can reflect depth, passion, empowerment, or some sort of positive change either socially, romantically, or even around values. For some people, this can manifest as financial gain. This can also be good for making aesthetic improvements.

Eclipses Are Coming Up, Mercury Is Ending Post Retrograde Period

The next New Moon on January 5th/6th will be a Solar Eclipse in Capricorn and the next Full Moon on January 21st will be a Lunar Eclipse in Leo. I am mentioning this because for some people the energies of the Solar Eclipse may have already started in recent weeks, and the themes of the Lunar Eclipse may begin to play out soon as well.

Eclipses reflect changes and/or important developments in certain areas of our lives. Even though we have a regular Full Moon currently, the shifty energy of the eclipses could also be playing a role with what is coming up for us. The themes of these eclipses could also play out in the months following their occurrence. I will be writing separate articles on these eclipses when we get closer, you can join my mailing list here to be notified when they are being published.

This Full Moon is occurring in the same signs in which we will be experiencing eclipses over the next year and a half. The Lunar Nodes are newly in the Cancer-Capricorn polarity, and with this Moon being on the same side of the North Node, it will give us a taste of how this energy will play out.

Things To Consider During This Period

In what ways do you need to balance career and ambitions with the needs of your personal life? Are your emotional attachments getting in the way of your productivity? Is your work getting in the way of your personal connections with others?

Do you feel emotionally fulfilled, if not, what do you need to change? Do you have domestic responsibilities that you need to attend to? How can you make your ideals a reality? Is there anything unrealistic, unclear. or overlooked regarding your thoughts or communications with others?

These are just some examples of themes that could come up during this period, however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following, when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is on December 22nd at 5:49pm Universal Time. You can click here for your time zone.

Full Moon In Aries: Addressing Wounds & Limitations

We are having a Full Moon in Aries on September 24th/25th, depending on where you’re located in the world. This marks the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on September 9th with a New Moon in Virgo. The energies of a Full Moon gradually build up earlier in the Moon cycle and become more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also a part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks.

The Sun entered Libra a few days prior which is always at the Equinox as per the Tropical Zodiac. The Equinoxes and Solstices are powerful points of transition which are the beginning of the next quarter/season of the astronomical year. Considering that the Full Moon is so close to this Equinox, it amplifies the transitional energy of this period.

At every Full Moon we experience a push-pull between two opposing signs, in this case it is the Sun in Libra opposing the Moon in Aries. As mentioned, Libra season just began and will last until October 23rd. Ruled by Venus, it is about relating/relationships, aesthetics/beauty, creativity, balance, diplomacy, equality, cooperation, and consideration. It can also be indecisive, superficial, vain, lack action, and can be overly co-dependant in many ways yet emotionally detached at the same time. As an Air sign, it is socially and intellectually oriented.

Aries, ruled by Mars, is about self-initiation, action, assertiveness, boldness, independence, self-interests, and taking the lead. It is also a ‘quick’ energy. Negatively, it can be hot-tempered, aggressive, restless, impatient, and lack consideration. As a Fire sign, it is energetic and instinctual. During this time we should see the energies of both of these opposing signs playing out either through us and/or around us.

Full Moon Conjunct Chiron, Square Saturn, and Opposing Mercury With The Sun

This Full Moon is really close to Chiron (also in Aries) while moving towards a square with Saturn in Capricorn and an opposition to Mercury (also in Libra). This period may highlight anything connected to our wounds, blockages, negative patterns, traumas, and/or it may also bring up our gifts in relation to those.

Chiron has a holistically healing quality, and perhaps this period can reflect taking action towards healing. It is also a ‘bridge’ energy, especially between the physical and the spiritual, but can also bridge other things as well. Chiron is also currently retrograde and is changing signs (to Pisces) less than 24 hours after this Full Moon. This reinforces how Chiron themes can be coming up strongly at this time, and perhaps it could be connected to our wounds and issues that have come up sometime in the last 7-8 years.

Saturn in a T-square with this Full Moon can bring up themes around limitations, challenges, responsibility, or discipline. These can be in connection with the Libra-Aries opposition as well as Chiron themes mentioned above. In some cases, we may need to get real and put effort towards fixing our blockages. Mercury in the equation could have to do with issues around the way we think or communicate.

The Sun is Aligned with The Super Galactic Center

The Sun is aligned with the ‘Super Galactic Center’ which is what our galaxy rotates around along with other galaxies. The SGC, along with the GC (our galaxy’s center) are points in the sky that have to do with higher consciousness, spiritual evolution, and tapping into new ideas and concepts that help to push humanity forward.

This SGC amplifies some of the Libras qualities around relationship and creativity, but has deeper meaning around them. It can also be connected to soul retrieval and healing, similarly to Chiron. These themes may also be connected to some of the other stuff mentioned throughout this article.

Aries Ruler Mars In Aspect With Full Moon While At The South Node, Returning From Being ‘Out Of Bounds’

The ruler of this Full Moon, Mars, is aligned with the South Node and a trine/sextile with the Sun and Moon. It is still in its post-retrograde period for the next two weeks as it begins to pick up speed. On the day of this Full Moon, Mars also returns from being ‘Out of Bounds’ which isn’t a common occurrence. This is when a planet orbits outside of a space of where it normally is from our Earth based perspective, outside of the ‘Ecliptic and Celestial Equator’. This began on July 7th during its retrograde.

When a planet is ‘out of bounds’, it is generally a time when a planet explores new territory beyond the normal constructs of how it usually expresses itself. It can be in unusual, unique, independent, unconventional, innovative, and even creative ways. Mars has to do with how we use our willpower, our actions/assertiveness, our motivations, our desires, sexuality, and how we deal with aggression and anger. With the ‘out of bounds’ ending now, it can be a time of integrating more of what we learned or experienced over the last 2.5 months.

This combined with the Mars retrograde indicates a re-orientation of how we apply Mars. Being near the South Node, it also brings themes in relation to the past (perhaps karmic) and could also be connected to Aquarian areas of friendships, ideals, and collective efforts. Perhaps a need to release something in terms of how we apply our Mars energy and/or in relation to Aquarian areas. The South Node connection also reinforces some of the Chiron and Super Galactic Center themes mentioned above.

Libra Ruler, Venus, Going Retrograde Soon

Venus is currently slowing down and will go retrograde on October 5th while in Scorpio. Since early September, we have been in a period in which shifts and new developments around Venus areas of love, relationships, sex, values, beauty, creativity, and even financially can start to play out. Or certain things that have been going since then may lead to changes and adjustments to these areas which will occur during and after the retrograde from October to December.

Prior to and during the retrograde, Venus interacts with Mars in a square. This could be about our recent Mars lessons and re-orientations having an effect on Venus related areas which will undergo its own recalibration process of its own.

Things To Consider During This Period

What are your self-interests at this time and how can you balance this with the consideration of others? What areas of your life require healing and what has been coming up to show you this? How can you apply better effort and discipline towards dealing with your blockages, limitations, and wounds? How can you take on more of a holistic approach? What aspects or relationships of your past do you need to address? What behaviors do you need to release from? What did you realize or explore in the last 2.5 months and how can you incorporate this to achieve greater harmony and fulfillment in your life.

These are just some examples of what may be coming up for you, however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following, when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is on September 25th at 2:52am Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Full Moon In Scorpio: Proceeding With Determination

We are having a Full Moon in Scorpio on April 29th/30th depending on where you are located, however, the Moon will appear fullest on the night of the 29th around the world. This marks the peak of the Moon cycle that began on March 31st.

We have been in Taurus season since April 19th/20th and it will last until May 20th/21st. This sign is about practicality, manifestation, thoroughness, food, and nature. It enjoys sensual pleasures and is a grounded energy. As a ‘Fixed Earth’ sign, Taurus is the most invested in the physical/material world in comparison to the rest of the signs. It can also be slow, stubborn, and lazy.

This Full Moon is in its opposite sign of Scorpio, triggering a push-pull or integration effect between both of these signs. Scorpio is deep, complex, transformational, passionate, calculated, sexual, and intense. It is associated with fears, death, secrets, desires, and power. Scorpio can also be controlling and manipulative.

Both signs are associated with money, values, and worth; with Taurus’ expression of these things being more ‘self-oriented’ and Scorpio being more ‘relationship/shared oriented.’ Scorpio is associated with taxes, debt, credit, investments, inheritance, which all include more then one party to be involved.

Taurus and Scorpio are each possessive in their own way. Taurus can be possessive with mostly physical things and food, but can also be possessive with loved ones. On the other hand, Scorpio can be more extremely possessive with those they love. Taurus likes to hold on to and accumulate things, while Scorpio is more about purging and release. Taurus is also associated with food while Scorpio is about releasing the waste from what we eat.

In the days before and after this Full Moon, and more subtly in the week or two following, we can expect to experience the polarity of these two signs playing out in our lives in some capacity. The key here is consideration and potentially integration of both sides.

Full Moon Sextile Saturn, Trine Neptune, and Conjunct Jupiter

Scorpio Full Moon’s can sometimes be more intense, however, this particular one has some nice aspects which helps to harmonize it. Firstly, it is in a tight sextile with Saturn in Capricorn which has recently went retrograde. Much of what comes up at this time can be beneficial for commitments, long term goals, responsibilities, and it can bring a stabilizing energy and realistic consideration.

The Full Moon is in a wider trine aspect with Neptune in Pisces which can be beneficial for our inspiration, spirituality, healing, creativity, charitable acts, and can help us to be more intuitively tuned in. Some of this energy will resurface around May 5th/6th. This combined with Saturn can help to make dreams a reality. The Moon is also moving towards a conjunction with Jupiter in the same sign. This is good for any kind of growth, expansion, and exploration.

Mercury Ending Its Post-Shadow Period, Uranus About To Change Signs

Mercury’s recent retrograde ended at the last New Moon on April 15th/16th, however, it has still been in its post-shadow retrograde period since then and until May 3rd. This is when it travels forward again in the same area where the retrograde occurred.

During these weeks, some of the issues and themes that first came up during (or just prior) to the retrograde (which was March 22nd – April 16th) become more increasingly clear as time progresses. We are able to proceed forward and make better decisions as the Universe helps to show us what our next steps are as a result of the signs, synchronicities, circumstances, and our feelings.

Uranus is at the very end of Aries over the next few weeks as it prepares to enter Taurus at the next New Moon on May 15th. During this period, before and after it changes signs, many people will experience significant changes. It could be about finishing something that has been in place for years, and can also be about doing something completely new.

Uranus can also bring unexpected events, disruptions, and even separations of some sort. It can also manifest as some sort of liberation, rebellion, and pursuing some sort of new experience. I will be writing more about this in my next article and might also create other content about it. You can join my mailing list here to be notified when published.

Things To Consider During This Period

How can you tackle your responsibilities and commitments in a way that is harmonious with your flow? How do you need to apply effort to help you fulfill your dreams or desires for growth, expansion, and exploration? What can you do or change to assist your personal financial situation and/or in regard to financial obligations with others? What do you need to purge or transform?

What are your long term considerations of how you want to build your life? What have you gained more clarity on recently and over the last few weeks? What have you been feeling in relation to how to proceed forward? What do you need to finish or release in order to open yourself up to new experiences?

These are just some examples but other variations of this energy may come up. During the Full Moon in Scorpio and in the two weeks following, it is a good time to do any sort of cleansing of the colon. This can be done through colon hydrotherapy, enemas, and/or with the use of herbs and supplements.

If you wish to do any sort of intentional release from something in your life, it is best to do so anytime after the Moon starts to wane following the exact moment of the Full Moon. The waning Moon lasts for two weeks following this period until the next New Moon. The exact moment of this Full Moon is at 12:58am Universal Time on the night of the 29th and morning of the 30th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

New Moon In Sagittarius: Finding Your Truth

We are having a New Moon in Sagittarius on December 18 at 6:30am Universal Time which will work out to be late night of the 17th for those in the Americas. New Moons are the start of a new new lunar cycle bringing in a new wave of energy for the coming month.

Mercury is finishing up its retrograde this week which is also occurring in Sagittarius. It began on the Full Moon on December 3rd and will end on December 22nd/23rd. Mercury Retrograde periods are a time of making shifts and adjustments in certain areas of our lives. It is an opportunity to see things in a different way and gain some new awareness around something. It could be about taking a different approach to things that have already been put in place or attempted prior to this period.

It is important to pay attention to what the Universe has been trying to show through both triumphs and complications so that you can proceed forward in a recalibrated way. When the retrograde ends, and in the days following, we may experience increased clarity and a more defined approach to how we need to handle whatever area of our life this period has been influencing. Much of this will be connected to Sagittarius themes which will be explained below.

New Moon In Sagittarius Conjunct Saturn At The Galactic Center

This New Moon along with Mercury’s retrograde can be about working with Sagittarius energy in new ways and making changes to old approaches that don’t serve us anymore. It can be connected to our beliefs, philosophies, aspirations, travel, education, teaching, and the way we accumulate wisdom and experience.

The shadow expressions of Sagittarius in its shadow can also be opinionated, self-righteous, preachy, and behaving like a ‘know it all’ even when we may have a very limited perspective on a subject. This sign can also overdo, overextend, and take a fearless approach even when there are valid reasons to be cautious.

Both this New Moon and the beginning of Mercury’s retrograde have a conjunction with Saturn which could be about needing to be more realistic, disciplined, focused, cautious, conservative, and structured in how we express Sagittarian energies mentioned above. There could be a theme of ‘redefining’ how we work with areas associated with this sign and for some people this period could be about reworking Sagittarius aspects in career which can be related to marketing, publishing, sales, or any of the other areas already mentioned.

Another way this can manifest is that some people may have to take a serious look and consideration around what is their truth. If we have been dancing with different ‘truths or if we haven’t been living up to our truth, this can be a period in which re-align ourselves with where we truly stand.

Both this New Moon, Mercury retrograde, and Saturn are in contact with the Galactic Center, which is a part of the sky associated with higher consciousness. This can be about aligning ourselves with our highest truth and our connection to source.

Saturn Going Into Capricorn For Three Years

Saturn has been in Sagittarius for roughly the past three years and much of what this edition of Mercury retrograde is about is connected to what Saturn has been doing since then. Therefore, many of the themes written above (and in my Mercury retrograde article) have actually been playing out for a longer term, except now they are being highlighted very strongly as Mercury has been activating Saturn’s ‘last hurrah’ in this sign.

Less than 2 days after this New Moon, Saturn will enter Capricorn where it will stay until late 2020. It is the planetary the ruler of this sign and therefore it is like it is coming home. Capricorn is the sign of career, ambitions, business, social status, banking, and mastery. Along with Saturn, it is also associated with structures, responsibilities, caution, practicality, discipline, and consolidation.

Saturn travelling through this sign will be a period of ultimately redefining many of these things. In that process, it will disregard what is no longer working and put in place or solidify different approaches that are more sustainable in the long term.

The last time Saturn was in Capricorn was from February 1988 until February 1991. Similar themes of that period will be present during this period, except in different ways. Also, this edition of Saturn in Capricorn has the potential to have much more profound and deeper changes as Pluto is also travelling in this sign and has been there since 2008. In a previous article, I wrote about what Pluto in Capricorn could mean for the world and with Saturn joining in now, much of what I wrote about will be more apparent over the next three years.

Those who were born the last time Saturn was in Capricorn, specifically between February 14th 1988 and June 10th 1988, as well as between November 13th 1988 and February 6 1991, will be going through their first ‘Saturn Return’ over the next three years. This is something that everyone experiences in their late 20’s which is ultimately about reaching a new level of maturity.

For those born in those periods, these next three years are a time of increased responsibility, commitment, needing to be more disciplined and getting more real about life and life choices. This can happen through both challenging and restrictive circumstances, or in some cases in can also manifest as a result of our own choices that require us to apply ourselves in those ways.

Making Intentions And Things To Consider

What have your experiences and circumstances been trying to show you over the recent weeks? How can you apply yourself in a way that is more aligned with new realizations, beliefs, and perspectives you have been considering?  Which of your previous perspectives were inaccurate or no longer serving you? What do you need to do or manifest to help you make your visions and aspirations a reality? What is your truth?

These are just some examples of what your intentions can be oriented around, but they don’t need to be limited to them. The exact time of this New Moon will be at 6:30am Universal Time on December 18th. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone. It is best to make your intentions as close to the New Moon as possible and even up a half hour prior to when it occurs. If that is not possible, they can even be done within the first 24 hours following.

Pluto In Capricorn 2008-2024: Major Changes In Government, Banking, and Business

In September 2008, the planet Pluto ended a retrograde period in the tail end of Sagittarius and started moving toward Capricorn, where it would stay until 2024. At that the time, the biggest news was that, unless the government stepped in and bailed out the banks, the United States was on the verge of financial collapse.

Pluto is the planet of transformation, renewal, death, and rebirth. It is a purger, destroyer, and creator. It rules hidden matters as well as the withholding or revealing of secrets. It represents power and control, as well as domination and manipulation.

Capricorn is associated with worldly structures such as government, banking, and business, and Pluto in this sign is reflecting the changes that are happening in these areas. It has already travelled through Capricorn for just over half of its 16 year duration and its effects have become increasingly obvious over time and will continue to do so, especially over the next three years.

Pluto and the United States Government

The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was from 1762-1778, which is when the United States of America was founded. At that time, colonies sought to establish themselves independently from an oppressive and troubled British monarchy, which led to the Declaration of Independence.

Over the years following this, the United States eventually would become the dominant country and currency and other countries would ‘adopt’ their style of democracy, or have it forced upon them. The Founding Fathers appeared to have good intentions when creating the United States, but over the years the government would become corrupt and work to serve the interests of the global elite, bankers, etc.

However, in this latest edition of Pluto in Capricorn, it looks like the governing and financial structures of the U.S. will fall victim to Pluto just as they did to Britain the last time this occurred. It is also possible that the European Union and other government and international structures will be negatively affected as well. This will be the first ‘Pluto in Capricorn’ we are living through and observing since its discovery,

The U.S. will be having its ‘Pluto return’ in 2022, the effects of which will be felt a few years prior and following. This means that Pluto in the sky returns to the same zodiacal position it was in when the United States was formed. It marks endings and beginnings regarding how the energies of that planet are being applied.

So far throughout this Pluto in Capricorn, we’ve seen a lot of interesting developments that truly reflect Pluto’s properties. Pluto can reveal secrets and we’ve seen that with the information coming from Wikileaks and Edward Snowden. The people’s desire for change is reflected in the last three presidential election cycles and the increasing popularity of anti-establishment presidential candidates. It started with Ron Paul in the 2008 and 2012 elections and was then followed by Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump in this most recent cycle.

We’ve also seen this strong desire for change through massive protest movements that have been occurring such as Occupy Wall Street, Standing Rock, and Black Lives Matter, among others. When the U.S. was formed, slavery was alive and well, and the current oppressive treatment of black people by police and many others can be traced back to this time. As Pluto represents power and abuse, the upcoming Pluto can also potentially help to facilitate bigger steps toward racial equality.

More and more people have been becoming aware of the conspiracies behind political establishments and we’ve seen a tremendous rise in the popularity of people like Alex Jones. The fact that he was recently interviewed by Megyn Kelly is an astonishing reflection of the change that is occurring. When I first became interested in conspiracies, shortly after 9/11, I followed Alex Jones’ work and at that time I never would have imagined him being interviewed on a mainstream prime time show.

Changing Economic Structures

As mentioned earlier in the article, Pluto’s entry into Capricorn coincided with the threat of a financial collapse that led to the American government bailing out the banks. Following this, the U.S. and other countries experienced a recession.

Over the years there has been a growing awareness of the corruption behind the federal reserve, international bankers, and their power over the population through the control of currency, banks, inflation, and interest rates. Money is no longer backed by precious metals, and is instead created out of debt, or what is known as ‘fiat currency.’ Many more people are now aware of this. The value of money is based on the perception of how well the country is doing economically, the people’s faith in it, supply and demand, and any manipulation done by the central banks and the global elite.

In late 2008, a new type of currency was proposed to help protect people from economic uncertainties. Early 2009 saw the birth of Bitcoin and ‘cryptocurrency,’ which is a digital asset that is structured in a way that its value cannot be affected by inflation and the dilution of fiat currency. In the years following, other cryptocurrencies were created as Bitcoin remained the ‘gold standard.’

Bitcoin was first given a value in late 2009 at $1 USD being worth 1309 Bitcoins, which is equivalent to 0.00076 of $1. A year later, its value went up to $0.50 and has been increasing since. Currently, as of early July 2017, one bitcoin is worth over $2,500 US. While it has seen dips in value over the years, its long term trajectory has remained upward.

The growing value of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be attributed to many different factors, with one of the main reasons being that people view it as a good investment. However, from an astrological perspective, this is a subconscious manifestation of the ‘Pluto in Capricorn’ story. In the event of an economic collapse, Bitcoin and/or other cyptocurrencies could potentially be worth much more than they are now.

In the long term, it is very likely that cryptocurrency and its technology will become a big part of the future of commerce. Perhaps Bitcoin or another type of cryptocurrency will eventually become the standard and primary method of exchange. Alternatively, it might inspire something else that could unfold over the coming years. More recently, a newer cryptocurrency called ‘Ethereum’ has become more popular and went up in value.

Pluto and the World of Business

Prior to being in Capricorn, Pluto was in Sagittarius, from 1995 until 2008. Sagittarius rules media and marketing, and right around the time Pluto entered this sign, the internet started to become publicly available and commercialized. Although the internet and its precursors existed prior to this period, it was mostly unknown to the general public and was used more privately by military and universities.

As Pluto progressed through Sagittarius, we witnessed the birth of social media and eventually smartphones. Pluto’s transformation of media has had a direct effect on its current transformation in the changes in government, commerce, and the business world. Without relying on controlled media, we have become more aware of what is actually going on and it has also opened up marketplaces and new models for different types of businesses to thrive in.

E-commerce as well as the use and sale of digital products has grown enormously during its passage in Capricorn. Many major brick and mortar retail stores have either closed or downsized as a result and this trend will continue on some level, but not completely. This change has also created new opportunities for niche businesses and people wanting to create businesses and careers out of their passions.

Since 2008, we have seen a much greater resistance to the oil industry and fossil fuels, for a few reasons. First and foremost, we have come to see there may be a connection between carbon and climate change, but our awareness of frequents oil spills in the oceans and on land is also playing a big part. Since Pluto’s entry into Capricorn, the number of incidents involving oil has been substantial. The nuclear incident in Fukushima has also been pushing more people toward demanding sustainable and clean energy. We still have a long way to go, but we have been taking bigger steps than ever, thanks to help of the internet and Pluto.

Conclusion

As mentioned above, Pluto ends its journey in Capricorn in 2024. The changes, steps made, and seeds planted will continue to develop even beyond this period. Saturn enters Capricorn in December 2017 until December 2020. During this time, part of Pluto’s influence in this sign will be amplified. Saturn creates restrictions and challenges, and can be contractive. It puts things to the test and it can create challenging circumstances to facilitate necessary changes.

astrology, astrology readings, carmen di luccioBoth Saturn and Pluto will be making challenging aspects to the astrological blueprints of the United States and the Federal Reserve. Also, there will be a powerful Solar Eclipse coming late August (2017) that will reflect major changes happening in the US through the second half of the year and beyond.

It would be wise to consider and observe the changes that are occurring so that you can make decisions that are aligned with what Pluto is creating rather than what it is purging. There is incredible opportunity for us to contribute and take part in these new beginnings.
