New Moon In Pisces: Embracing Oneness

We are having a New Moon in Pisces on March 6th in most of the world, and in the early hours of March 7th in the far East. This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle which peaks on the Equinox on March 20th/21st with a Full Moon in Libra.

This lunar cycle begins just a day after Mercury begins its retrograde in the same sign, which will last throughout the majority of the month. Therefore, it will play a major role in how these coming weeks play out. I recommend reading my retrograde article here if you haven’t already.

We have been experiencing Piscean energies for a while now, as Pisces season began on February 18th/19th and Mercury has also been there since February 10th. However, this New Moon and Mercury Retrograde emphasizes it even more so.

Pisces is the last of 12 signs and is associated with spirit and oneness as a reflection of the zodiacal evolution. It is the least invested in physical-material word and is more oriented around emotion, compassion, energy, spirituality, imagination, and dreams. It is highly intuitive and even psychic, sometimes unknowingly. It can be divinely inspired, idealistic, healing, mystical, and highly creative. It is forgiving, self-sacrificing, and unconditionally loving.

Pisces is visual based and non-linear, therefore it can lack rationality and mental acuity. It struggles when it comes to details and the left brained orientation of the mundane world. Reality can be overwhelming which is one of the reasons why escapism is a trait of this sign.

Negative qualities of Pisces can be delusion, deception, addiction, intoxication, flakiness, evasiveness, self-undoing, and having issues with boundaries. The line between reality and fantasy can be blurred. Pisces can also be both in the light and dark at the same time. This quality is a reflection of the oneness orientation it possesses; however, it can also be a factor towards deceptive behavior.

New Moon Conjunct Neptune, Sextile Saturn, Pluto, Mars, and Square Jupiter

This New Moon is in a tight alignment with Neptune, which accentuates the already strong Piscean energy mentioned above. Neptune is also the higher octave of Venus and is associated with glamour, romance, and spiritual values. As Pisces is associated with escapism, Neptune rules drugs, alcohol, and psychedelic experiences.

The Sun and Moon are moving towards a harmonious sextile with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, while separating from another sextile with Mars in Taurus which was strong in the last 10 days. This energy helps us to be productive and grounded amidst all of this Pisces energy mentioned above.

This combined with Mars moving towards a sextile with Neptune can help us in taking action towards anything creative, imaginative, idealistic, or spiritual. We may feel like acting on our dreams and fantasies. Mars will be in a trine with Saturn as well, which can help us direct our energy in a focused, solid, stable, and practical way. It can also be good for building something.

Mercury will be connecting to the same planets in backwards motion and, considering the nature of the retrograde energy, this can be good for revisiting something already initiated in the past. Along with the Sun and Moon, Mercury will also be in a square with Jupiter. We can get scattered mentally and overextend ourselves, however, it can also be good for learning or any type of expansive or explorative efforts. Conflicts around opinions and judgements could also arise in some cases.

Uranus Transitioning From Aries To Taurus For Final Time

The planet Uranus initially entered Taurus on a New Moon last May before it went retrograde back into Aries in early November. It is now re-entering Taurus again, hours before this New Moon, where it will stay until 2026.

Whenever Uranus changes signs, its energies tend to become highly obvious in the news, even if we don’t notice it in our personal lives. Uranus rules surprises, sudden disruptive events, accidents, natural disasters, and explosiveness. It’s energy can be explosive, revolutionary, and radical.

When Uranus was transitioning from Aries to Taurus last May, the Hawaiian volcano erupted along with others. There was also earthquakes at that time. When it retrograded from Taurus to Aries in November, the California wildfires occurred.

If you were born with planets in the early parts of any signs you will likely notice its energies either really soon or sometime over the next year. The experience of it can be liberating, awakening, exciting, revolutionary, unconventional, innovative, separative, or even unstable and loss oriented. Those who will notice it the most will be people who have their Sun, Moon, Ascendant or other key planets  in early Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius.

Below is a video I did last year talking about other general  potential effects of Uranus in Taurus.

Making Intentions And Things To Consider

What can you be doing to help you become more spiritually activated? What should you be doing to bring more magic or serenity into your life? Do you have any self-sabotaging or escapist tendencies that could be traded in for creative, spiritual, or inspiring practices, efforts, or projects?

What can you be doing to stimulate a stronger intuition? Should you be meditating more often? Do you feel like you need to liberate yourself from a situation that is holding you back? How can you be integrating your visions, imagination, inspiration, creativity, or even visual media into your career or any projects that you are doing? Do you need to be more compassionate?

What recurring themes have come up for you in the last two weeks? Whatever it may be, it is likely an indication of the areas of your life where you will experience an important shift or adjustment later in this Moon cycle or potentially into the next one as well.

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time; however, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. It will be occurring at 4:04pm Universal Time, you can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

New Moon In Scorpio: Deep Growth & Constructive Change

We are having a New Moon in Scorpio on November 7th at 4:02 pm Universal Time. This is initiating a 29.5-day Lunar cycle and a new wave of energy for the coming month. This cycle will peak at the Full Moon in Gemini that is occurring on November 22nd/23rd.

The Sun has already been in Scorpio for the previous few weeks yet this New Moon will trigger this energy even more so. This sign is associated with power, transformation, sexuality, regeneration, passion, and depth. It is calculated, complex, mysterious and also associated with money/resourceS when it is shared, as well as inheritances, and debts.

It can be also vengeful, secretive, manipulative, fearful,  compulsive, and obsessive. As a fixed water sign, it is emotional, intuitive, and strong-willed. However, Scorpio can be very stealthy when it comes to exposing their true feelings, emotions, and vulnerabilities.

The Sun and Moon are moving towards a sextile with Pluto which is a modern sub-ruler of Scorpio. This aspect emphasizes what I have already written especially the positive qualities of this sign. This can be a great energy for making positive change, overcoming fears, and breaking out of challenges that are holding us back. Jupiter is also in its final day in Scorpio which also reinforces some this energy.

Scorpio Ruler Mars Trine Venus Retrograde

At the time of this New Moon, Mars in Aquarius is making a trine to Venus retrograde in Libra, which will be strongest a few days later. This is occurring in Air signs while Venus is in its last week of its retrograde. This can be a great energy for social interactions, romance, or perhaps even working on something creative or aesthetic, especially if it was initiated in the past.

However, with Venus still being retrograde, whatever occurs during this period will also play a role in the reorientation of how we apply ourselves in Venus ruled areas which will conclude in the coming weeks. Venus rules relationships (socially and romantically), money, beauty, love, values, as well as creativity and pleasures. You can read more about this Venus retrograde here.

Jupiter Entering Sagittarius, Mercury Going Retrograde Soon

As mentioned above, Jupiter is changing signs less than a day after this New Moon. It has been in Scorpio since October 2017 and transitions to its home sign of Sagittarius where it will stay until December 2019. However, its themes have been gradually building up since July after it ended its last retrograde.

Jupiter is the planet of travel, luck, higher education, experience, exploration, philosophy, religion, beliefs and is ‘big picture’ oriented. In its own sign of Sagittarius, Jupiter gets to express these energies at its fullest potential as Sagittarius is also associated with the same things. This next year is a period to expand and broaden our horizons. The area of life that will be affected by Jupiter in Sagittarius also depends on what house it is travelling in and what planets it is interacting within your natal chart.

Mercury is also slowing down to go retrograde on November 16th/17th, so it is possible that you may have started to notice some common retrograde complications. The pre-shadow period for it began on October 28th/29th and therefore some developments that have occurred since then may go through some changes and adjustments during (and following) the retrograde period which ends on December 6th/7th.

Interestingly, most of this retrograde occurs in Sagittarius, and this combined with Jupiter (and the Sun eventually) really highlights Sagittarian themes during that period. I will be writing a separate article on this Mercury Retrograde, you can be notified when it is released by joining my mailing list here.

Lunar Nodes Changing Signs, Uranus Re-Enters Aries While Square Nodes

Less than a day before this New Moon, the Lunar Nodes change from the Leo/Aquarius axis (where they have been since May 2017) and into the Cancer/Capricorn axis. They will stay there for the following 18 months and will also be triggered by upcoming eclipses as well as a previous Solar Eclipse in Cancer.

This is beginning a process of changes of how we work with energies of these signs. This is pushing us towards being more caring, protective, nurturing, and connecting emotionally with loved ones. It is also about making changes towards structures and ambitions that do not serve us.

Uranus retrograde is also returning to Aries less than an hour after the Lunar Nodes change signs (Nov 6th) while it is in a square aspect with them. This is a rare occurrence. The square between Uranus and the Nodes could reflect challenges and developments which ultimately help us to consider the past and the future, or between old behaviours and new ways of expressing ourselves. This could also indicate a turning point for some.

With Uranus changing signs its energy gets amplified and this could reflect sudden changes, disruptions, surprises, and sometimes accidents. Perhaps we can also be revisiting a theme connected to authentic individuality which has been playing out since 2011. Whenever Uranus transitions signs it can be pretty obvious by observing news media and looking at what is happening in the world in the days surrounding it.

Making Intentions And Things To Consider

What has been coming up for you over the last month regarding social/romantic relationships, matters of love, sexuality, or money? What do you need to shift in how you apply yourself in these areas? What part of your life should you approach with greater depth and realness? What can you release or transform to help empower you? What fears do you need to overcome, or perhaps you have already began doing so?  How can you expand and broaden your horizons?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time, however, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. However, the closer the better and can be as early as 30 minutes prior to the exact moment of it. This New Moon will be occurring at 4:02pm Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

New Moon In Libra: Changes In Relationships

We are having a New Moon in Libra on October 19th at 7:12pm Universal Time. This marks a new wave of energy influencing the upcoming lunar month, yet the astrological configurations at this time will be the strongest over the following two weeks leading up to the Full Moon on November 3rd/4th.

Libra energies have been present for the last month — since the previous Equinox, which is when the Sun always enters this sign. As an air sign, it is social and intellectual. Libra is about all types of relationships, as well as balance, fairness, equality, and diplomacy. Consideration of others’ needs is also a theme, as well as anything to do with beauty, aesthetics, and even creativity and the love of art.

New Moon Opposite Uranus, Conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio

However, the Libra-related needs may be at odds with the opposing Uranus in Aries if both sides are not integrated. This is something that we have already been experiencing on and off since late last year, and also in recent months, during Jupiter’s opposition with Uranus in the same signs. Uranus in Aries is about freedom, breaking free, independence, rebellion, and separations, but in some cases it may even bring new ways of applying ourselves within relationships/partnerships.

This aspect with Uranus may also bring some surprises and sudden changes throughout this Moon cycle, which may be disruptive. This effect will be particularly strong at the time of the New Moon and potentially the day before.

Although this New Moon is in Libra, along with Venus and Mars later on, Scorpio energy will be very prevalent throughout this month, as Jupiter entered this sign nine days prior. Mercury also recently joined. The Sun will be there as well, three and a half days after this New Moon (on October 23rd), as it does every year at this time, but this time it will be joining Jupiter there.

While Libra is associated with relating and relationships, Scorpio represents the deeper aspects of these things, such as deep bonding, sex, and shared values/resources, along with deep desires, fears, intensity, investments, taxes, debts, secrets, hidden matters, suspicions, and mysteries. Negative Scorpio traits include jealousy, possessiveness, power, control, and manipulation over others. It is raw, primal, powerful, complex, and can even be profound and transformative.

Jupiter, along with being triggered by the Sun, is highlighting these themes. An example of this is what is being talked about in the media regarding sexual harassment in Hollywood. On a more positive note, we may also experience an expansive energy related to Scorpio themes. Jupiter is about learning and growing, so this can be a great time to apply this toward the Scorpio themes mentioned above. It can also be related to deep studies and deeper understanding of certain subjects and how things work, which can be done in a way that is penetrating and even obsessive.

Mars Entering Libra, Mercury Trine Neptune, and Venus Square Pluto

Mars is going into Libra on October 22nd and will be extending some of the Libra themes for a while, as it will stay there until December 9th. Traditionally, this is viewed as a poor pairing with Mars, which likes to be direct and assertive. Libra can be indecisive and likes to take things into consideration before acting so it can make both sides happy. Throughout this period, we may find that our actions require more deliberation, which can be more challenging for highly assertive people.

Mercury in Scorpio is moving toward a trine with Neptune that will be exact on October 24th. Mercury represents how we process thoughts and communicate, and when in Scorpio, can allow for deeper communication. Its trine with Neptune can deepen intuition and connection to the unseen and unconscious, as well as the thoughts of others. This can also be great for creative Mercurial communicative pursuits such as poetry, music, and visual arts such as photography and video.

Venus returned home to Libra five days prior to this New Moon and will stay there until November 7th. Despite the New Moon’s opposition with Uranus mentioned above, and some upcoming challenging aspects that Venus is making, this can still bring some harmony to our relationships and our social lives.

However, as we approach October 27th-28th, Venus will be moving toward a square with Pluto, which could trigger already existing Scorpio themes of jealousy, possessiveness, fears, as well as passionate intensity and obsessiveness in relationships. It could also bring challenging or hidden issues to the surface as well, and we may display compulsive behaviours toward loved ones. In some cases, financial issues, or anything to do with aesthetics, might become problematic in some of the same ways. Mercury will also be in an aspect with Pluto at the same time, which can reinforce some of things already mentioned but can also help us look at the issues from a deeper perspective, as it is also in Scorpio.

Making Intentions and Things to Consider

In what new ways can or should you express yourself in your relationships? What themes are being triggered at this New Moon now that are related to what has unfolded over the last few months, and what can you do to take a new step forward? What are the deep underlying issues at play here and how can you use this awareness to facilitate changes, transformations, and better decisions? What considerations do you need to make to ensure that you are taking a balanced approach in your actions? What is the root cause of your fears, obsessions, or compulsive behaviours?

These are just some examples of what your intentions can be oriented around, but they don’t need to be limited to them. The exact time of this New Moon will be at 7:12pm Universal Time on October 19th. You can click here to find out what that is in your time zone. It is best to make your intentions as close to the New Moon is possible, but they can even be done within the first 24 hours following. However, the best time for making intentions would be within the first half hour following or just prior.
