New Moon In Virgo: Being Productive

We are having a New Moon in Virgo on August 30th, 2019. This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle and new wave of energy for the coming month; however, the astrological configurations mentioned in this article will be more prominent over the following two weeks. This cycle will include a Full Moon in Pisces on September 13th/14th.

Virgo season began about a week prior yet this New Moon is triggering its themes more so. The is be a good period of working with and co-creating with the energies of this sign. Virgo is associated with productivity, duties, service, health, cleanliness, and purity. It is organized, adaptable, conscientious, skillful, orderly, punctual, diligent, efficient, analytical, detailed, precise, and practical. Virgo is good at problem solving, adjusting to changing conditions, and coming up with solutions.

Negatively, Virgo energy can also be overly critical, too cautious, fault-finding, irritable, nit-picky, discriminating, complaining, and facilitate a martyr complex. It’s perfectionist and pedantic qualities can be overwhelming and unnecessarily overboard.

New Moon Conjunct Mars and Mercury with Superior Conjunction

This Virgo New Moon is aligned with Mercury (the ruler of Virgo) and Mars, with both in the same sign. This energy is strongest from August 30th to September 4th. This can be a busy, mentally active, assertive, and productive time. We can be quick thinking and may tend to move or get things done faster than usual. We just need to be cautious of being too impulsive or hasty when making decisions, driving, or towards anything else that can result in unfavorable consequences.

In the later part of this period, specifically from September 2nd-4th, is when Mercury joins the Sun in its ‘Superior Conjunction.’ This is a period in which we may experience more clarity and potential developments connected some of the themes that have been playing out in the last 1.5 months.

Ideas, situations, or other things that were seeded in July can experience a change or some sort of progress. It can even result in a beginning or ending due to increased certainty. In comparison to these last few months, our minds can be more aligned with our true needs and self-expression from this period until mid-late October. We can better implement whatever we have been thinking about with greater confidence and direction.

New Moon with Mercury Trine Uranus, Quincunx Chiron

This New Moon occurs as it is in a tight trine with Uranus which was also strong on August 29th when it was triggered by the Sun in the lead up to the new lunar cycle. Virgo ruler Mercury is also moving towards this same aspect which peaks from August 31st to September 1st.

This can be a period of originality, experimentation, excitement, positive changes, unusualness, or even some sort of liberation from something. We can be more inventive, insightful, innovative, and have stimulating conversations.  Nice surprises and unexpected developments could occur which may require us to be flexible. Activities, actions, or conversations could be oriented around metaphysics, science, technology, or other things that are progressive and unconventional.

On August 31st Mercury is in a quincunx with Chiron. We can experience some frustrations around our wounds, hurts, limitations, and blockages which may require some adjustments. Conversations and thoughts at this time may be affected by this, or themes associated with healing or wholeness may come up as well.

Venus Trine Saturn, Square Jupiter, and Opposite Neptune

Venus, also in Virgo, is in a trine with Saturn in Capricorn which peaks on September 1st. This can reflect some sort of stabilization, solidification, maturity, positive realism, responsibility, discipline, or commitments connected to relationships (friends or lovers), finances, values, worth, or perhaps even something associated with aesthetics. For some people this can play out as favorable developments around career and aspirations.

On September 1st and into September 2nd, Venus than makes a square aspect with Jupiter in Sagittarius followed by an opposition to Neptune  from September 3rd to 4th which also forming a T-square aspect on the 3rd. We can be excessive, unrealistic, confused, and have blind spots when it comes to our relations, finances, and pleasures. Alternatively, social and love matters can have a spiritual, expansive or idealistic tone at this time. This can also stimulate creativity, especially towards anything connected to media, marketing, or education.

Making Intentions and Things To Consider

What can you do to be more productive, organized, diligent, or efficient? Do you need to acquire new skills or systematic approaches? Have you been feeling the need to implement protocols or lifestyle changes to help you to be healthier? Do you need to be of service in some way? Do you need to catch up with tasks that you have been holding off for a while?

These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time; however, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon. The exact moment of it will be occurring at 10:37am Universal Time on August 30th.  You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

Supermoon In Virgo: Balancing Practical Matters With Idealism

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on February 19th at 3:53pm Universal Time. This is the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on February 4th with a New Moon in Aquarius. It will also be a Supermoon, which is when the Moon appears larger and brighter due to its closer proximity to the Earth. For those in North and South America, it appears the brightest on the night of the 18th.

A Full Moon is when we feel a push-pull between the two opposite signs where the Sun and Moon are located, in this case being Pisces and Virgo. It gradually builds up and becomes more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also  part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks.

Pisces season begins less than a day before this Full Moon occurs. It is associated with sensitivity, compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, inspiration, dreams, imagination, oneness, and idealism. Negatively, this sign can also be unrealistic, flaky, elusive, delusional, deceptive, and is associated with escapism and intoxication.

The Moon brings in the sign of Virgo into the equation which can either be at odds with Pisces energies or could work harmoniously with them in some sort of balance. Virgo is associated with duty, service, productivity, practicality, organizing, analyzing, perfection, cleanliness, and purity. It is systematic, detailed, discerning, and good at problem solving. Negatively, Virgo can be cynical, overly critical, fussy, high strung, and too much in the the head.

Both signs are associated with health, wellness, and healing, with Virgo being more about physical health and physical modalities, while Pisces is more about spiritual/emotional health and modalities. They are adaptable signs and are both about helping others.

Full Moon Trine Mars and Uranus

This Full Moon is in a trine with Mars and Uranus which are separating from a conjunction with each other. Mars just recently entered Taurus on February 14th. Uranus is making its final transition from Aries to Taurus which will happen on March 6th, hours before the next New Moon.

The Mars-Uranus influence could signify a period of doing certain things differently or acting on new experiences. It could be about applying ourselves in a way that is more liberating, exciting, innovative, unconventional, experimental, or breaking from limitations. Considering that Uranus is changing signs, over the next few weeks there can also be some surprises, significant shifts, and sudden changes which can either be harmonious and supportive or disruptive and challenging.

The Sun will also be travelling while in a close aspect with Mars until early March, but will be strongest from February 27th-28th. With Mars in Taurus, this is a time of asserting ourselves in a way that is methodical, practical, and even sensual in some cases.

Sun and Moon Aligned With Prominent Stars

This Full Moon will be in a tight alignment with the star Regulus which is known as the ‘heart of the lion.’ This star is in the constellation of Leo but moved into the tropical sign of Virgo in 2012 and still on the cusp of those signs. It is about courage, leadership, and prominence. It is daring, proud, and can also be big hearted.

The Sun is aligned with the star Fomalhaut which is in both the constellation and sign of Pisces This star amplifies the qualities of its sign and has magical, artistic, and otherworldly qualities.

The ‘Great American Eclipse’ that occurred in August 2017 and the following Solar Eclipse in February 2018 were near the same spots of where the Sun and Moon are during this Full Moon, yet in different signs. It is possible that you may see some areas of your life get triggered over the next few weeks similarly to areas of your life that were affected over a year long period from mid 2017 until mid 2018. However, it will still be different and those eclipses had more significance overall.

Mercury In Pisces Conjunct Neptune, Sextile Venus/Saturn/Pluto, Square Jupiter and Going Retrograde In Two Weeks

Mercury begins its pre-retrograde shadow period hours before the peak of this Full Moon. Over the next few weeks, much of what plays out or develops will go through a sorting out and adjustment period throughout March until early April. I will be writing a separate article on it, you can join my mailing list here to ensure that you receive my content.

Virgo’s ruler Mercury is in the opposing sign of Pisces which is where the Sun is. It is also aligned with Neptune, a modern ruler of Pisces, which makes it even more Piscean. Mercury doesn’t perform the way it wants to when in this sign. It lessens the analytical, intellectual, and rational qualities of this planet. Instead it perceives things in a more abstract, symbolic, sensory, or intuitive way.

All the Neptune/Pisces energy can make us more dreamy, less in touch with reality, forgetful, and inhibit mental focus. Communications and thoughts can be less direct, confusing, and misunderstood. However it can also be divinely inspired, psychic, compassionate, fantasy based, or directed by emotional energy.

Mercury and Neptune are also in a sextile with Saturn, Venus, and Pluto. Usually Mercury in aspect with Saturn can be good for practical thinking and focus, however, the Neptune influence mentioned is a lot stronger here. If anything this aspect with Saturn can good for constructive effort towards ideals, visions, creativity, selfless acts, or anything to do with spirituality.

Many people can also experience increased social interactions or romantic developments that can have some significance. However, considering that the South Node and an upcoming retrograde is in the mix, some of of this could have to do with the past or perhaps old behaviours and aspirations being triggered.

Mercury is moving towards a square with Jupiter which is the traditional ruler of Pisces. We can be overly broad minded, idealistic, or even judgemental. We can overlook details easily, over-exaggerate, and overextend ourselves. However, this can also be good for learning and expanding our minds. This energy will be strongest on February 22nd in the West, and the 23rd in the East.

Chiron Returns To Aries, Will Be There Until 2027

Chiron has just re-entered Aries where it will be until April 2027. We already got a taste of this energy last year from April to September before it retrograded back into Pisces. This Full Moon is in a quincunx with Chiron, and therefore it is possible that some of the issues below might come up during this period.

Chiron is the ‘wounded healer’, it reflects our wounds, blocks, traumas, and negative patterns. However, it is also the key unlocking our untapped or suppressed potential. Through our own healing and self-awareness, we become more whole and more of who we truly are. This is what Chiron is about, it is both the roadblock and the bridge.

Collectively, Chiron is going to trigger Aries themes for the next 8 years. However, like all other astrological influences, much of how it plays out for depends on how it is interacting with your personal birth chart based on the exact time you were born.

Aries is about self-identity, independence, leadership, initiation, and assertiveness. It can be direct, competitive, combative, hot tempered, impulsive, and forceful. Our wounds and challenges connected to these things could come to help us grow, become more aware, and make positive changes. We will see more of this unfold during certain periods over the upcoming years.

This Chiron in Aries period will be the most significant for those born between February 1969 and May 1976, as well as for those born between early April and mid-October of 1968. For these groups it will bring up deeper core wounds to help facilitate the potential for healing, awareness, and empowerment. It can help to develop a constructive relationship with aspects of oneself that have either been destructive, limiting, distorted, or inhibiting.

New Moon In Virgo: Getting Real And Embracing Change

There will be a New Moon in Virgo on September 20, 2017. This is the beginning of a new wave of energy influencing the upcoming month, yet the astrological configurations at this time will have a stronger influence over the following two weeks.

On September 18, less then a day before this New Moon, Mercury finished travelling in the part of the zodiac it occupied during its previous retrograde. These last few weeks (since Sept 5) are known as Mercury’s ‘post-shadow’ period, as there has been more of a forward momentum in response to what transpired during the retrograde and in the aftermath leading up to this New Moon on the 19th.

However, Mercury has also been progressing toward an opposition with Neptune until the 18th/19th, which synchronistically aligned with the end of the post shadow period and transition to a New Moon cycle. In some cases this could still have made the forward momentum of the ‘post shadow’ period a bit confusing or perhaps related it to escapism or deceiving behaviour. However, in some cases, Neptune here along with other planetary configurations could also indicate spiritual healing or awareness that could influence the way we think.

Pluto in Capricorn is currently almost stationary, as it is finishing up its retrograde that started on April 20. It will begin to move forward again on September 28. During the weeks leading up to and following this date (the 28th), Plutonian themes may be surfacing more strongly.

It could be related to power, transformation, death and rebirth, control, hidden matters, secrets, sex, or even money and business. For some people this can be an empowering time, especially for those born in the early 1980s (primarily 1981-1982) or the mid-1960s and mid-late 1950s.

Some of the themes and developments that have occurred between September 17th-19th could be related to what the previous Solar Eclipse in Leo indicated for your personal evolution now and over the coming months. Venus in Leo was at the same spot of the eclipse, triggering it with themes of love, fun, friendships, creativity, and values, along with money in some cases.

New Moon in Virgo in a T-Square With Chiron and Saturn, Three Planets Also in Virgo

Virgo is the sign of health, work, service, routine, lifestyle, details, purity, cleanliness, organization, and pets. Developments related to these themes could already be playing out, but we are moving into a period of increased momentum and clarity and therefore we may be stepping it up or expressing and experiencing these energies even more. Although Virgo season is almost over and we will move into Libra season soon, Venus, Mars, and Mercury will still be travelling in Virgo which is also putting extra emphasis on this sign and its energies.

This New Moon is tightly separating from an opposition to Chiron. This could either indicate challenges with our personal wounds/blockages or it could represent healing and empowerment when also considering Pluto’s transition to forward motion. In many cases this could have occurred in the week and days leading up to this New Moon.

Those who have been experiencing this energy in a challenging way may feel a tug of war between Virgo energy and Chiron in Pisces. This could manifest as Virgo related circumstances and themes (mentioned above) at odds with our blockages and self-imposed inadequacies. Saturn is in a loose square with this opposition, as it was with the previous Full Moon in Pisces. This could emphasize tension pushing us to be more committed, responsible, or realistic, or to have more discipline in overcoming the challenge of this opposition.

Jupiter in Libra Finishing Opposition With Uranus in Aries

Jupiter is finishing off its opposition with Uranus over the next few weeks and it will be strongest around Sept 25th – 30th. This energy started in December and was strong throughout the winter and gradually started to increase again over last six weeks. Jupiter in Libra represents one side that wants to expand in relationships, partnerships, diplomacy, balance, fairness, and equality. It could even be related to those we consult with.

If expressed in a challenging way, Uranus in Aries could disrupt this through surprising/sudden circumstances, and could perhaps bring separations. In some cases it could be some sort of rebellion against other Libra themes mentioned. Alternatively, some people can experience these two forces in a more harmonious way that can be integrating instead of opposing. This could bring expansive breakthroughs, big surprises, freedom, new or revolutionary experiences, or over-excitement, which may be connected to the Jupiter in Libra themes mentioned above.

This opposition is forming quincunx and semi-sextile configurations with the New Moon and Chiron. This could suggest that, however this manifests for you, it may require some adjustments for you to be able to integrate this energy with how you manage your life, work, dealing with blockages, or other Virgo and Chiron related areas mentioned above.

Making Intentions and Things to Consider

What can you do to make your life or work operate more smoothly, organized, and efficient? What lifestyle changes do you need to make to be more healthy and/or overcome blockages and wounds? What have you learned about your personal power and how should you proceed based on this? Also think about anything else that the universe has been showing you over the last few weeks and consider what needs to be done based on this.

The exact time of this New Moon occurred at 5:30am Universal Time on September 20. It is best to make your intentions with the first 24 hours following the New Moon, as close to it as possible. You can click here to see what the exact time was for your time zone.

Full Moon In Pisces: Finding Serenity

There will be a Full Moon in Pisces on September 6th but appearing at its fullest as it builds up on the night of September 5th. This is the peak of the lunar cycle that was initiated by a powerful New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo (August 21st), and it’s occurring less than a day after Mercury went stationary direct following a three-week retrograde period.

This has been a time of changes, insights, adjustments, and setting ourselves up for new beginnings that will develop over the coming weeks and months. This first week of September, in which the Full Moon is occurring, is especially insightful and developmental when it comes to how we are to proceed forward. However, although we may have some increased clarity and forward momentum, there will still be some confusion around details until we start the next Moon cycle on September 20th.

Overall, there has been a major emphasis on the Leo and Virgo energies, as things transition more towards Virgo now. Mars joined the Sun in Virgo a day before this Full Moon and Mercury will return to this sign on September 9th/10th. Overall, this is a time for getting things done and taking action. For some people, this could also be about making your life more efficient, organized, and productive, as well as cleaner, purer, and healthier.

Our Virgoan efforts may possibly be connected to the changes that are occurring as a result of both recent eclipses and Mercury retrograde. Due to the recent Total Solar Eclipse, there is a push toward expressing the Leo energies in new ways, which will occur in whatever area of your life it is activating based on your personal astrological blueprint.

This could have to do with how we express our creativity, authenticity, leadership, love, heart-centeredness, or playfulness, or could even be related to children. Uranus is also strongly influencing this period while in a tight trine with stationary Mercury, as it was during the recent solar eclipse as well. This energy can bring surprises, excitement, breakthroughs, innovation, freedom, or some sort of newer authentic expression.

Full Moon Conjunct Neptune in Pisces, Sextile Pluto in Capricorn

Whenever there is a Full Moon, we experience an opposition and/or potential integration of two polarities. In this case, it is the Sun in Virgo opposing the Moon in Pisces. As mentioned above, there is currently a strong Virgo emphasis; however, during the period around this Full Moon, the Piscean side gets highlighted. The themes of this polarity start to become noticeable in the days leading up to it and play out in the days following.

Pisces is the sign of dreams, spirituality, sensitivity, faith, illusion, beliefs, fantasy, selflessness, and oneness. It is the direct connection to spiritual realms. While Virgo represents the real world and all of its details, Pisces wants to completely avoid all of that and would rather bathe in tranquility and imagination. Negatively, Piscean energy can also be about escapism through drugs, alcohol, or other behaviours and indulgences. It can also be deceptive, delusional, flakey, and self-sabotaging.

Like Leo, Pisces can be very creative due to its high sensitivity to spiritual inspiration and psychic energies. This sign is about tapping into the needs of the collective unconscious, which can be helpful with all the strong Uranus (innovative) energy we are currently experiencing. However, this isn’t something that is usually done consciously and decisively, but instead through inspiration or psychic insights.

Neptune is also aligned with this Full Moon and, as a sub-ruler of Pisces, it has all the same energies, which means all of themes mentioned above will be amplified. Some of the stuff coming up for you at this time could be related to the Pisces-Neptune themes (mentioned above) that you were reflecting on around mid-June of this year, or in some cases could perhaps even be connected to the Full Moon that occurred the weekend of July 8th. If it has to do with ways you are expressing the negative manifestations of Pisces-Neptune, then perhaps this Full Moon can be a great opportunity to shift or release from that.

We integrate Pisces with Virgo by listening to our intuitions and trusting our imaginations in ways that make our lives more efficient and productive, heal and purify ourselves both spiritually and physically, or even when applying our creative, spiritual, or inspired efforts in a grounded, practical, and organized way.

This Full Moon is also in a supportive aspect with Pluto in Capricorn, which can be helpful in empowering, and somewhat supporting, the Virgo side with a grounded focus. The transformational qualities of Pluto can also manifest for some people when factoring in other astrological conditions at this time.

Things to Consider During This Period

Consider what has transpired in your life in the last month and start thinking about how you can integrate any of these developments or insights moving forward. Although this Piscean-Neptunian energy wasn’t a big part of the previous weeks leading up to this, perhaps there is some change, development, expression, or the need to release something associated with this sign and planet that could help you determine how to move forward based on what has transpired and developed for you.

If you decide to use this energy to intentionally release something from your life, it is best to start that when the Moon starts to wane after the peak of the Full Moon, or even over the following two weeks. The exact moment of the peak will be at 7:03am Universal Time. You can astrology, astrology readings, carmen di luccioclick here to see what that is in your time zone.

Solar Eclipse In Leo: Time To Shine In New Ways

We are having a Total Solar Eclipse in Leo on Monday, August 21st in the Western world, and in the early hours of August 22nd in the East. This eclipse has been dubbed ‘The Great American Eclipse’ as its pathway of totality will be cutting across the US from coast to coast. The peak of this eclipse and the exact moment of the New Moon will be at 6:30pm Universal Time, although the start and peak times of when the eclipse is visible depends on your location.

This eclipse will be visible throughout North America, Central America, and in the Northern part of South America, as well as part of Western Europe and the west coast of Africa. However, it would be visible only as a partial eclipse unless you are on the pathway of totality which travels through parts of Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, and most of South Carolina.

If you are located on the path of totality, you may be able to see Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and Venus (in that order) in the dark sky as the Sun is completely covered. This will be a great sight to see if the conditions are right. Also, it’s very important to keep in mind that no matter where you are viewing the eclipse, make sure to be wearing certified viewing glasses when looking at the Sun as your eyes can damage without them.

Solar Eclipses are like a supercharged New Moon which occur every 6 months. They happen back to back with a Lunar Eclipse which is a supercharged Full Moon. Eclipse periods coincide with endings and beginnings and in some cases can feel like starting a whole new chapter depending on how they are influencing your natal astrology chart.

They can be a bit of a ‘wild card’ sometimes.  The energies are strongest within a month of occurring which is when related events or circumstances may transpire. However, the effects of eclipses can still manifest over the following 6 months and gradually leading up to it.

In the lead up to this, we had a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius. Its energies signify changes around our friendships, associates, colleagues, groups, teams, or some sort of collective. It could even have to do with how we express ourselves in these dynamics, and also potentially lead to new growth in relationships and partnerships.

We started Mercury retrograde in Virgo on August 12th/13th which will last until Septeber 5th/6th when it will be in late Leo. Mercury Retrograde is a time of adjustments, insights, revisitation, and reorientation. The fact that this one is coinciding with eclipse season really emphasizes significant changes occurring between late July and late September, especially in the 2-3 weeks following this Solar Eclipse.

I also previously wrote an article covering this eclipse from a geopolitical perspective, and more specifically what is going on in the US and with Donald Trump, which you can read here.

Total Solar Eclipse Near North Node Is A Strong Significator Of New Beginnings

Solar Eclipses always occur when there is a New Moon near one of the two Lunar Nodes, which in this case it is the North Node. The Nodes are where the pathway of the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic which is the pathway of the Sun from our (geocentric) perspective. The closer a New Moon is to a Node, the more totality/coverage the Moon will have in blocking the Sun making it more astrologically significant as far as changes are concerned. The other Lunar Node, known as the South Node, is always on the opposite side and sign as its counterpart.

The Nodes are an important thing to look at when considering eclipses. The North Node (in Leo) is about the future and where our evolutionary potential is at this time. The South Node (in Aquarius) is about the past and what potentially could be holding us back if expressed in a way that is inhibiting what the North Node is calling for. They entered the Leo-Aquarius axis on May 9th and will stay there until November 6th, 2018 extending those themes until then.

The last Lunar Eclipse (mentioned above) we had a few weeks prior triggered and initiated the Aquarian South Node side of this process. However, considering that this one in Leo is a North Node Solar Eclipse in totality, and the previous one was a partial Lunar Eclipse, the new beginnings surrounding the Leo energy are much stronger than potential endings signified by the Aquarian side of the polarity. It is probable that some of the developments and changes indicated by the previous eclipse could be directly connected with some of the new beginnings indicated by this Solar Eclipse.

Solar Eclipse In Leo Aligned With Regulus and Trine Uranus

Leo is ruled by the Sun and it is the sign of the creator, the performer, the leader, and the superstar. It is about love and heart centred self-expression, whether that is in our creative efforts, joyful activities, or in relationships. Leo is passionate, inspired, and inspiring, which is what earns Leo natives the spotlight they may crave. Leo is also associated with children and has childlike and playful qualities. Expressed negatively, Leo energy can be demanding of attention, egotistical, arrogant, and get too caught up in drama.

The energy of this sign can be expressed in different ways and areas of your life depending on how it is interacting with your natal astrology chart and the types of things that you do. For example; the Leo ‘performer’ theme may be expressed in the arts or in sports, or perhaps you are taking on a leadership role in your workplace, maybe children coming into your life somehow, or maybe you are doing something new regarding a hobby. These are just some examples of how this can play out, but many more potentials of its expression can exist related to the above mentioned themes.

This Solar Eclipse is aligned with Regulus, which is the brightest star that is closest to the Sun’s pathway (ecliptic). It is the ‘heart of Lion’ of the Leo constellation, which emphasizes some of the themes mentioned above. Traditionally it has been referred to as the ‘star of kings’ as part of which highlights the superstar potentials of Leo energy and could also suggest a theme of being the king/queen of our world. A negative expression of Regulus can be seeking revenge and going to war.

Uranus is in a very tight harmonious trine with this Regulus aligned Solar Eclipse. Uranus can bring excitement, innovation, revolution, authenticity, freedom, and the sparks of intuition and inspiration that could lead to revolutionary developments in our lives. It likes to challenge the status quo, take a more progressive approach, and could also be rebellious. Uranus also strongly emphasizes the new beginnings of this Solar Eclipse.

This eclipse is also separating from a quincunx aspect with Chiron which will be finishing a square with Saturn in the Fall. Although this eclipse can make us more bold and potentially have a liberating effect, there may be challenges and required adjustments when trying to incorporate the Leo energy while addressing our blocks, wounds, or emotional patterns. This theme could also come up from mid October until mid November at times in which we could go beyond some of these challenges if we apply discipline.

Mars conjunct the North Node in Harmonious Aspects with Jupiter and Saturn Going Direct

Mars is also in Leo not too far from where this eclipse is occurring, however it is much closer to the North Node making it a key planet to look at in consideration of the future. Mars is the planet of assertiveness, action, and desires. In Leo it likes to do things in a ‘grand’ way and with passion. This is about applying your drive and being active towards all of the Leo themes mentioned above in consideration of the future and your evolution.

Saturn and Jupiter, which both have opposing qualities, are making a harmonious sextile with each other and with Mars involved as well. This energy is strong during the first 2 weeks following this eclipse, especially after the 25th when Saturn finishes its retrograde.

Saturn is about commitment, structure, discipline, work, responsibilities, caution, and being realistic. Jupiter is about expansion, the big picture, growth, freedom, learning/teaching, morals, beliefs, travel, or anything to do with broadening your horizons. These two planets in a sextile with each other shows that these two energies are working in a compatible way and helps to provide balance between them.

For example, perhaps there is a theme of committing to, solidifying, or building towards something that can be expansive for you. It could also mean being able to more easily exercise caution while applying yourself in growing towards your goals. For some, it may be about moving forward with a realistic perspective or perhaps better defined beliefs, morals, or ideology.

This can also be good for commitments around relationships and partnerships considering Jupiter is in Libra. However, considering all of the Uranus energy at this time, partnerships and relationships will work best when there is something Uranian about it which could be exciting, electric, innovative, involve technology, or provide some sense of freedom.

Things To Consider and Setting Intentions

The last time an eclipse happened at this location of the zodiac was in August of 1998. In 1999 we also had an eclipse belonging to the same ‘Saros Series’ as this one. Depending on your age, it can be good to look at what has happened in your life during those years, especially in the second half of 1998. Some of the same themes that occurred then will manifest now, but in a different way as the overall astrology now is not the same as it was then.

Many of the themes related to this eclipse will be strongly activated during the first week or so of September. This is when Mercury ends its retrograde (September 5th) and stations forward at the same spot where this eclipse is occurring, all while in a trine with Uranus. At that time there can be new developments, and potentially surprises, that will help us in how we can proceed forward in our new beginnings.

What is your heart telling you to create at this time? What steps can you take to help you in fulfilling your passions? What possibilities out there currently excite you and perhaps make you feel more free? What is getting in the way of you expressing your heart more? In what area of your life do you need to be the King, Queen, or Superstar? How can you express yourself in ways that are more innovative, authentic and reflective of who you truly are?
