New Finding: Broccoli Helps Heal Leaky Gut

By Dr. Mercola

Broccoli, a close relative of Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower, is perhaps most well-known for its chemoprotective properties. It’s an excellent source of phytonutrient glucosinolates, flavonoids and other health-boosting antioxidant and anticancer compounds. One of the compounds in broccoli known to have anticancer activity is sulforaphane, a naturally occurring organic sulfur.

Studies have shown sulforaphane supports normal cell function and division while causing apoptosis (programmed cell death) in colon,1 prostate,2 breast3 and tobacco-induced lung cancer4 cells, and reducing the number of cancerous liver tumors in mice.5 Three servings of broccoli per week may reduce your risk of prostate cancer by more than 60 percent.6

Its beneficial effects on obesity, Type 2 diabetes and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) have also been highlighted in a number of studies. Researchers have now identified yet another major health benefit of this cruciferous vegetable: a healthy gut. In fact, researchers suggest broccoli can be very helpful in the treatment of colitis and leaky gut.7,8,9,10 As reported by CBS:11

“The Penn State study was carried out with mice, who were found to be much more capable of tolerating digestive issues than those who weren’t put on a broccoli diet. The scientists added that the results could be a breakthrough for humans, as digestive problems can reportedly lead to other severe issues.”

Broccoli Helps Heal a Leaky Gut

What they discovered is that when you eat broccoli, a compound called indolocarbazole (ICZ) is produced, which catalyzes a healthy balance not only in your gut but also in your immune system, as the two are intricately connected. In this study, 15 percent of the animals’ diet was swapped out for raw broccoli, equating to a human eating 3.5 cups of broccoli per day.

Admittedly, that’s quite a bit of broccoli, but the researchers note you can obtain an equivalent amount of ICZ from a single cup of Brussels sprouts, as they contain three times the ICZ of broccoli. Earlier studies had confirmed that one of the health benefits of broccoli is its ability to quench inflammation, so it makes sense it would be helpful for gastrointestinal (GI) inflammation as well.

Leaky gut is a condition that occurs due to the development of gaps between the cells (enterocytes) that make up the membrane lining your intestinal wall. These tiny gaps allow substances such as undigested food, bacteria and metabolic wastes that should be confined to your digestive tract to escape into your bloodstream.

Once the integrity of your intestinal lining is compromised, allowing toxic substances to enter your bloodstream, your body experiences a significant increase in inflammation. Your immune system may also become confused and begin to attack your own body as if it were an enemy — a hallmark of autoimmunity disorders.

Chronic inflammation in your body can also contribute and/or lead to other health conditions such as arthritis and heart disease. While leaky gut syndrome is primarily associated with inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis and celiac disease, even healthy people can have varying degrees of intestinal permeability leading to a wide variety of health symptoms, and this can be significantly influenced by your diet.

Removing lectins from your diet will also go a long way to healing a leaky gut. You can learn more about the details of this in the previous interview I did with Dr. Steven Gundry, who wrote the book “The Plant Paradox.”

How Broccoli Improves Gut Function

A key component of a healthy gut is having good barrier function to prevent particles from escaping from your intestinal tract into your bloodstream. Receptors located on the lining of your gut wall called aryl hydrocarbon receptors (AHRs) play a vital role in maintaining a well-functioning barrier. One of their primary jobs is to trigger a reaction when toxins are detected.

As mentioned, broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables contain glucosinolate compounds, which are broken down into ICZ and other byproducts during digestion in your stomach. By binding to and activating AHR, ICZ helps boost your immune function and improve the balance of the microbiome in your gut.

The compound sulforaphane also inhibits inflammation by reducing damaging reactive oxygen species (ROS) by as much as 73 percent.12 Sulforaphane is also an immune stimulant,13 so broccoli beneficially influences your immune function in more ways than one.

Interestingly, excessive activation of AHR will have an opposite, detrimental effect. According to the researchers in the featured study, dioxin activates this receptor, but in this case the resulting hyperactivation triggers toxicity. Lead author Gary Perdew, professor of agricultural sciences, said,14 “What we were interested in is: Could you locally activate the receptor naturally at a level that would cause only modest AHR activation in the gut, but not cause systemic activation, which could possibly lead to negative effects?”

The answer, as you may have guessed, is yes, you can — with cruciferous vegetables. Importantly, broccoli and other sulfur-rich cruciferous vegetables also improve detoxification, which is another important factor that influences your health, including your gut health. Broccoli sprouts, in particular, have been shown to help detox environmental pollutants such as benzene.15,16,17  As noted by The World’s Healthiest Foods:18

“… [S]ulforaphane increases the activity of the liver’s phase 2 detoxification enzymes. These enzymes … are well-known for their ability to clear a wide variety of toxic compounds from the body including not only many carcinogens, but also many reactive oxygen species, a particularly nasty type of free radical.

By jump-starting these important detoxification enzymes, compounds in crucifers provide protection against cell mutations … and numerous other harmful effects that would otherwise be caused by these toxins.”

The Importance of Fiber for Healthy Gut Function

Broccoli and other members of this family are also good sources of fiber — another important ingredient for good gut health. Fiber helps nourish your gut microbiome to strengthen your immune function and reduce your risk of inflammatory diseases.19 Fiber also activates a gene called T-bet, which is essential for producing immune cells in the lining of your digestive tract.20

These immune cells, called innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), help maintain balance between immunity and inflammation in your body and produce interleukin-22, a hormone that helps protect your body from pathogenic bacteria. ILCs even help resolve cancerous lesions and prevent the development of bowel cancers and other inflammatory diseases.

Broccoli Has Many Valuable Health Benefits

As you can see, the benefits of broccoli are significant, making it well worth adding a few spears and/or broccoli sprouts to your meals on a regular basis. Doing so has been shown to:21

Boost mitochondrial health and energy metabolism via nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), an enzyme in broccoli that your body needs to produce nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD).

NAD may slow age-related decline in health by restoring your metabolism to more youthful levels22,23,24 Once in your system, NMN is quickly converted into NAD

Aid with weight loss. Sulforaphane has been shown to slow weight gain, especially the accumulation of dangerous visceral fat, by speeding up tissue browning, a heat-generating type of fat that burns energy rather than storing it, and decreasing gut bacteria associated with obesity25,26,27

Boost overall immune function, thanks to compounds such as diindolylmethane (DIM). DIM has also been shown to be a valuable player in the prevention and treatment of cancer28,29

Lower your risk for atherosclerosis and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, thanks to phenolic compounds that reduce free radicals

Improve digestion and gut health, courtesy of significant amounts of fiber and AHR-activating ICZ

Support eye health, thanks to high levels of the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin

Benefit your skin, as sulforaphane helps repair skin damage

Fight allergies, thanks to the flavonoid kaempferol

Provide important vitamins and minerals, including magnesium, potassium, calcium, protein and vitamin C

Help reduce blood sugar levels, as it contains both soluble fiber and chromium

Support heart health and help prevent thickening of your arteries

Reduce your risk of developing NAFLD by lowering triglyceride levels in your liver30,31

Reduce inflammation, which is at the root of many chronic diseases, including asthma, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease32,33,34

Improve Type 2 diabetes by lowering blood glucose levels and improving gene expression in your liver35,36

How to Get the Most Out of Your Broccoli

Contrary to what you might think, the medicinal qualities of mature broccoli are actually optimized through cooking. Precision is key, however, as there’s a fine line between optimizing its nutrient content and destroying it through overcooking. Here are some tips and guidelines to help you get the most out of your broccoli:

Adhere to ideal cooking times: Research37 shows steaming mature broccoli spears for three to four minutes will increase the available sulforaphane content by eliminating epithiospecifier protein — a heat-sensitive sulfur-grabbing protein that inactivates sulforaphane — while still retaining the enzyme myrosinase, which converts glucoraphanin to sulforaphane. The latter is important, because without myrosinase, you cannot get absorb the sulforaphane.

Make sure you do not exceed the five-minute mark, as you start losing valuable compounds beyond that point. If you opt for boiling, blanch it in boiling water for no more than 20 to 30 seconds, then immerse it in cold water to stop the cooking process.

Eat cruciferous veggies with mustard seed powder or other myrosinase-rich food: Eating your cruciferous veggies with a myrosinase-containing food38 such as mustard seed powder, which contains a particularly resilient form of myrosinase,39 will further maximize sulforaphane content. Aside from mustard seed, other alternatives include daikon radishes, wasabi, arugula or coleslaw. Adding a myrosinase-rich food is particularly important if you eat the broccoli raw, or use frozen broccoli.

Opt for fresh: Ideally, use raw, freshly harvested broccoli whenever possible as frozen broccoli has diminished ability to produce sulforaphane. This is because myrosinase40 is quickly destroyed during the blanching process.41 Broccoli can also lose 80 percent of its glucoraphanin — the precursor of sulforaphane — in the first 10 days after harvest.

For recipes calling for longer cooking times, chop and wait before cooking: When a cruciferous vegetable is chopped, myrosinase is activated. So, by chopping the food and waiting about 40 minutes, the sulforaphane will have formed, allowing you to cook the food in excess of the recommended three to four minutes of steaming, or 30-second blanching, without risking sulforaphane loss.42

The reason for this is because both the precursor to sulforaphane and the sulforaphane itself are largely resistant to heat. It’s the myrosinase that gets destroyed during cooking, which then prevents the formation of sulforaphane. By allowing the sulforaphane to form before you cook it, you circumvent this chain of events. As an example, if making broccoli soup, blend the raw broccoli first; wait 40 minutes for the sulforaphane to form, then boil it.

Catechins Can Help Your Heart and Brain

By Dr. Mercola

If you could have a cup of green tea and fight Alzheimer’s disease in the process, how many cups would you have? The ancient beverage has been recognized for millennia as having a dramatic and positive impact on human health, but its potential for improving several aspects of your brain, as well as your heart, is becoming more clear thanks to ongoing research.

After all, nearly 50 million people worldwide — one of every nine people over the age of 651 — are wrestling with this devastating disease, described as a neurodegenerative condition evidenced by a progressively advancing mental decline that affects memory and behavior. Experts say that by 2050, that number could surpass 131.5 million.2

While scientists weren’t yet clear on what mechanisms made the green tea-for-Alzheimer’s link possible, new research, covered in the Journal of the American Chemical Society,3 has determined that antioxidant compounds called catechins are the facilitators (and to a lesser degree, theaflavin polyphenols in black tea).4

Lead study author Giuseppe Melacini, from the chemistry and chemical biology departments at McMaster University in Canada, asserts that the best remedy for Alzheimer’s is early intervention. He also notes that using either green tea extracts or their derivatives — as far in advance as 15 to 25 years prior to symptoms appearing — is one method of early intervention.

What he’s really suggesting is that anyone wanting to avoid the disease or lessen its effects should begin drinking green tea now rather than waiting until symptoms emerge — although there are a multitude of steps to reduce your Alzheimer’s risk beyond drinking green tea.

What Causes Alzheimer’s Disease?

It’s important to remember how powerful antioxidants are and that polyphenols are some of the most prominent. Taking that a step further, one of the most potent polyphenols in green tea is a catechin known as epigallocatechin-3-gallate, or EGCG. The reason these findings are so important, Medical News Today reports, is because it:

“Disrupts the formation of toxic plaques that contribute to the disease. Researchers found that the green tea polyphenol epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) stops the formation of beta-amyloid plaques — a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease — by interfering with the function of beta-amyloid oligomers.”5

Beta-amyloid is a sticky protein that can clump together and form the plaques that cause the problems leading to Alzheimer’s disease. Scientists used nuclear magnetic resonance to scrutinize the way EGCG made the difference in inhibiting plaque formation. Beta-amyloid monomers are tiny binding molecules. Think of it this way: A monomer is one, and a polymer is more than one. When beta-amyloid monomers form beta-amyloid oligomers, over time they can stick together and form toxic beta-amyloid plaques.

Melacini and his research team explained that EGCG in a sense “remodels” the oligomers by coating them, which keeps them from further development and eventually may be what halts the plaque-forming process. In fact, the study team discovered that it occurs at the molecular level by inhibiting the ability of toxic oligomers to grow and interact with healthy cells, Melacini explains.

Previous studies had determined this was the case, but the mechanism linking the prevention of plaque formation hadn’t been connected. The bottom line is that drinking green tea could literally help prevent the development of Alzheimer’s disease, and the sooner you start, the better. However, because it’s difficult to deliver EGCG to the brain directly, further research is called for to discover ways to modify the compound in order to remedy this problem.

Other Ways Catechins Help Your Brain

According to Scholar Commons, examinations of post-mortem brains have shown that abnormalities from Alzheimer’s include loss of synapses, inflammatory processes and “intraneuronal neurofibrillary tangles composed of hyperphosphorylated tau protein and extracellular 2 neuritic plaques comprised of aggregated amyloid-? (A?).”

A? is further described as an amphipathic peptide that originates from the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP), a transmembrane glycoprotein that is concentrated in synapses and neurons. Animal studies show that A? plaques appear before the neurofibrillary tangles, implicating the accumulation of aggregated A? as the primary pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s.

One study shows that the catechins in green tea cannot only protect your brain from developing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia but also increase brain function, improve your memory and decrease damage done by heavy metal toxicity. The study adds that polyphenols’ brain-penetrating, antioxidant and iron-chelating properties make them of special interest for future research into the “treatment of neurodegenerative diseases where oxidative stress has been implicated.”6

Antioxidant Catechins: What Else Can They Do?

Lower your risk of developing dementia

Keep your blood pressure at a healthy level

Improve your eye health

Put your body in fat-burning mode to help you lose weight7

Improve both your bone structure and strength

Promote digestion

Lower your risk of certain cancers8

Help relax your mind

Boost your energy

Enhance glucose tolerance for diabetics9

Catechins have the potential to deliver several more very potent perks, noted in the featured video. Multiple studies have noted that green tea has positive effects on nearly every part of your body. The Journal of the American College of Nutrition lists a number of them and further supports the above studies:

“Recent human studies suggest that green tea may contribute to a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer, as well as to the promotion of oral health and other physiological functions such as anti-hypertensive effect, body weight control, antibacterial and antivirasic activity, solar ultraviolet protection, bone mineral density increase, anti-fibrotic properties, and neuroprotective power.”10

How do Catechins in Green Tea Help Your Heart?

EGCG may also reduce oxidative stress because it combats cell damage that can be unleashed by free radicals.11 In a search to find more ways drinking green tea can improve your health, clinical studies have shown that it also helps optimize your cholesterol and triglycerides.12 EGCG in particular can also help prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries, known as atherosclerosis.

One comprehensive review in Japan, citing research on 90,000 participants, linked green tea consumption with a lower risk of death due to heart disease, as well as from stroke or a heart attack.13 Another Japanese study (where green tea may be considered the most widely consumed beverage), involving more than 40,000 people, noted that the practice coincided with lowering the risk of death from heart disease by 22 percent in men and 31 percent in women.14

Interestingly, green tea catechins also have antibacterial effects, with low concentrations of the compounds inhibiting the growth of bacterial spores, including those that are generally resistant to disinfectants.17 Research published in the journal Cardiovascular & Hematological Disorders Drug Targets further noted, “[C]atechins may be effective against cardiovascular problems through modulating blood lipid metabolism, protecting vascular endothelial and decreasing blood pressure.”15

Everyday Health quotes Erin Palinski-Wade, registered dietitian and author of “Belly Fat for Dummies:” “EGCG can [also] help boost metabolism, helping to make it easier to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. In addition, green tea helps improve the function of endothelial cells in blood vessels.”16

The Results Are In: Green Tea Is Heart and Brain Protective

While green tea does contain caffeine, which is a stimulant, it imparts a calming effect on the jittery feeling you can get when you get too much. This is due to a high concentration of an amino acid called L-theanine, which boosts alpha wave activity in your brain and produces a state that one meta-study referred to as a state of “relaxed concentration.” As a bonus, it also helps decrease blood pressure.18

Huffington Post19 notes that the best way to prepare your green tea in order to release the most powerful effects of the polyphenolic EGCGs is to use a high quality loose-leaf green tea and steep it for three to five minutes.

You don’t even need to drink very much: According to The Spruce,20 you should drink four of five cups daily for the maximum benefit — and that would be a true cup, equaling 16 tablespoons — although you could drink more with no problem. Healthy Eating21 maintains that two cups will provide a healthy amount of polyphenols. It’s really up to you.

It’s clear that, besides the anecdotal narratives passed down from ancient cultures throughout Asia, Europe and the rest of the world, and the many clinical studies that have confirmed its beneficial attributes, green tea is something you should be making part of your routine. Not only could it help you live longer, it may also improve your quality of life.

When selecting tea, opt for organic (to avoid pesticides) and grown in a pristine environment (to avoid fluoride, heavy metals, and other toxins from contaminated soil and water). If you’re consuming Matcha green tea (which contains the entire ground tea leaf), it’s especially important that it comes from Japan instead of China, where excessive industrial pollution may lead to soil with substantial amounts of lead. A clean growing environment is essential to producing a pure, high-quality tea.

What Is Bitter Orange?

By Dr. Mercola

A flowering evergreen tree native to Asia, bitter orange is a fruit now widely cultivated in Mediterranean regions. But rather than a fruit for eating, the outer “zest” of the fruit, sans the white pulp, as well as the oil from the leaves and branches, are used as a medicinal. Bitter orange, which purportedly arrived in the Americas with the Spanish and Portuguese in the 1500s, has many other names, depending on the country talking about it.

Herbal Resource1 lists several: Kiang chum, nirvana aria, enroll, Amara, hue chum hung, citrus Bergama, citrus bigaradia, citrus vulgaris, Seville orange, zhi shi, petit grain, chongcao, bigarade orange and sour orange. Compounds of note contained in bitter orange peel include flavones, the alkaloids synephrine, octopamine, and N-methyltyramine and carotenoids.2

As many other ancient Asian plants have been, the leaves and flowers of the Citrus aurantiumhave been used in traditional folk remedies, and the small fruit while still “green” is the flavor in a liquor known as Curacao. Ayurveda Oils3 refers to bitter orange as “orange bitter oil” and notes it may be helpful for stomach troubles, gout, low appetite and anxiety. The rind has also been used to remedy digestive disorders and abdominal pain, as well as headache, constipation and high blood pressure.

In Brazil, folklore has it that bitter orange can help relieve insomnia and anxiety. Similarly, traditional applications in Europe noted its usefulness for stomach disorders, as a sedative and to treat “nervous problems” and sore throat. In China and certain Amazon regions, the list of maladies bitter orange is said to be used for includes nasal congestion and bladder problems.

Hordenine: An Adrenergic in Bitter Orange That Releases Epinephrine

One of the most powerful compound bitter orange contains is hordenine, aka N, N-dimethyltyramine, which is an alkaloid found in only a few plants such as barley and bitter orange. The function it serves is adrenergic, which means it causes nerve cells to release the neurotransmitters epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline).

Both are cited for increasing focus as well as the “fight or flight” response. Hordenine increases response to noradrenaline, and increased energy and focus was reported in one animal study following exposure.4 Self Hacked notes that in another study of hordenine:5

“The hordenine did not produce any bodily changes by itself. This means that it does not increase alertness directly, but in an indirect manner by keeping noradrenaline from being removed.”

In addition, hordenine was found to decrease melanin production by 30 percent, which is helpful for people with an overproduction of skin pigment, which can cause freckles, age spots and other evidences of hyperpigmentation.6 This compound gained a name for itself years ago when dodgy managers in the horse racing world gave food containing hordenine to racehorses to increase their performance.

Because the energy effects are considered short-lived and high doses were necessary to induce the desired response, many countries believed any increases in performance were improbable7 and did not consider the practice “cheating.” However, after testing, Canada banned hordenine for horses. Although, it increased short-term alertness within two minutes, side effects including profuse sweating and immediate defecation were reported when it was injected straight into their bloodstream.8

Bitter Orange May Aid Weight Loss, but Be Wary of Bitter Orange Supplements for This Purpose

Bitter orange is perhaps most widely known as an ephedra-like substance to “rev up” your metabolism, which is why it’s often used in weight loss supplements, sometimes in combination with caffeine. It contains the alkaloid synephrine, which is chemically similar to ephedrine, and is a banned substance by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).9

Research has shown modest increases in weight loss when bitter orange extract or synephrine-containing products were taken for six to 12 weeks,10 without any significant adverse events reported, but be wary of weight loss supplements that contain it.

In high amounts, or when combined with other stimulants like caffeine, bitter orange or its stimulatory alkaloids could lead to side effects such as fainting, heart attack or stroke. Some experts believe such supplements may cause problems similar to the ephedra-containing supplements that were banned in 2004,11,12 while others have suggested bitter orange to be different, or milder, than ephedra, with side effects blamed on combining it with caffeine or certain medications.13

Be aware also that the hordenine in bitter orange can cause false positives in opioid drug testing, including tests for morphine, oxymorphone, hydromorphone and apomorphine. Most cases of false positives in drug testing due to elevated hordenine are due to people drinking beer made with barley, however.14 There are also several other potential side effects of hordenine ingestion you should be aware of, as listed by Self Hacked.15 These include:

  • Hordenine may reduce how other neurotransmitters break down. An example is monoamine oxidase-B, which essentially inactivates it, as well as other neurotransmitters such as dopamine and phenylethylamine. While focusing its “attention” on breaking down hordenine, other neurotransmitters like dopamine may become elevated, possibly increasing reactivity to stress.16
  • It may make your blood pressure reading fluctuate, which, in testing on cats, first caused a decrease, then a huge spike, followed by similar fluctuations.17
  • It may cause convulsions. The above study also notes that as a cholinesterase inhibitor, hordenine keeps the enzyme cholinesterase from breaking down acetylcholine, which carries signals from your nerve cells to cause things like movement. “By blocking cholinesterase from breaking down acetylcholine, your body would naturally not stop moving and may keep convulsing.”18
  • Hordenine may lower your protection against UV radiation. Melanin protects your skin by both absorbing free radicals and protecting your skin from excessive exposure to UV rays, but due to hordenine’s ability to reduce production of melanin, your skin may be more susceptible to damage.19
  • Continuously ingesting large quantities of foods containing hordenine could cause kidney damage, including tubular hydropic degeneration, in which kidney cells overfill with water. In an animal study, a disease called glycosuria, in which glucose is released from the kidneys to the urine, occurred in 62 percent of voles fed high doses of hordenine-containing foods.20

Bitter Orange Uses and Precautions

Bitter orange is used in foods such as syrup, marmalade, spicy fruit chutneys and candied fruits, especially since the high pectin content creates a gel-like consistency. It’s also used in cosmetics and for aromatherapy, especially for energy boosting, anxiety relief, digestion and skin health. The essential oil known as bitter orange comes from the peel of the fruit (oil from the flowers of the tree is known as neroli oil) and has a long history of Ayurvedic use.

Modern research has also found the oil is an effective antifungal agent when applied topically and even that bitter orange may have anticancer properties.21,22

A study published in the Journal of Pharmacology found that drinking 8 ounces of bitter orange juice twice over an eight-hour period appeared to be safe in people with normal blood pressure, but advised anyone with heart rhythm abnormalities, uncontrolled high blood pressure, narrow-angle glaucoma and those who take decongestants or MAO inhibitors as an antidepressant to avoid the juice.23

Further, be careful of supplements containing high levels of bitter orange, hordenine or synephrine, especially if you have heart problems or high blood pressure, and avoid taking them with caffeinated beverages or MAO inhibitors for depression.24 In addition, bitter orange inhibits an enzyme in the small intestine that can affect the amount in your blood, which can influence how certain medications work.

This includes antidepressants, ulcer, HIV, anti-nausea and fungal medications, anti-anxiety drugs, statins, some calcium channel blockers, weight loss supplements and antiviral drugs.25 Herbal Supplement Resource notes that large amounts of bitter orange peel can cause colic, convulsions and even death in children,26 so it should be avoided in children and pregnant or breast-feeding women.

In conclusion, bitter orange and bitter orange essential oil have valuable medicinal properties, but must be used with caution and, ideally, with the guidance of a knowledgeable natural health care practitioner who can help with proper dosage and administration. Weight loss supplements containing bitter orange or related components are risky and better off avoided.

John Ross, Freedom4humanity’s Blog 10-26-17… “It is Coming Good”

Thanks to LL who emailed this to me (the link they sent was this one). It really hit some points. Although I’m not really drawn to posting about parasites, the points John makes in this post are quite “right on” in my view. I highlighted a couple points he makes, which are bolded.

This one phrase really stood out… “By following our guidance each and every step of the way, we become teammates within the Light based forces”. Note that this does not refer to “others’ guidance”, or “what other people say one should do”, or “what this or that cultural rule says you should do”. Nor does it refer to “working all the time with bunches of beings and groups” (in the 3D). Those (to me, at least) are part of the old paradigm. It’s about “following our (Inner) Guidance”. When we work via the Higher Inner Guidance, we connect telepathically with others who are in the same “Light Group”. Works all the time.

“Targeting to shift humanity’s shared timeline has resulted in a lengthy learning curve… the primary forces holding the current timeline in place… are in the form of off-world parasitic civilizations using black magic and advanced technologies to create an illusion that we will call the ‘matrix’. It is within this illusion that the current human timeline continues to operate. For obvious reasons, any timeline based on an illusion is vulnerable so there is hope.

“The work we are doing is attracting a lot of attention, both from Light based supporters and from defenders of the parasites and their matrix. These defenders often use parasitic hooks while floating unseen above us and outside of our energy field. In this way they claim to be compliant with cosmic law and cannot be ousted using our normal methods. We were inspired to remove the hooks which untethered them and off they float; leaving us within full sovereignty. We also interview visitors; first invoking the sacred space and our Light based supporters. On several occasions, visitors who claimed to be supportive have been exposed as frauds and leave after refusing to answer specific questions posed to them within this sacred space.

By following our guidance each and every step of the way, we become teammates within the Light based forces freeing humanity and birthing the new shared human timeline. This new timeline is based in truth and full disclosure; based in serving the greater good; based in the fullness of cosmic law. How close we are and when the shift will happen is not know to me; but this much I know…”

—————————————————-

It is Coming Good

Targeting to shift humanity’s shared timeline has resulted in a lengthy learning curve. I have been working at it for a decade or so and only in the past few months did I become aware of the primary forces holding the current timeline in place. These forces are in the form of off-world parasitic civilizations using black magic and advanced technologies to create an illusion that we will call the ‘matrix’. It is within this illusion that the current human timeline continues to operate. For obvious reasons, any timeline based on an illusion is vulnerable so there is hope.

I had thought that Ankara, a dark creator god, and the Alliance that formed around his agenda of conquest and subjugation was the key factor in supporting humanity’s current timeline but this has proved incorrect. The parasites joined the Ankara Alliance but held no allegiance to Ankara so when Ankara surrendered and advised all within the Alliance to do likewise, the parasites said, ‘No thanks; we will take the leg up that the Alliance afforded us and continue our parasitic agenda of feeding off of the human misery created by the illusion that we own and control.’

How did the parasites manage to gain control over humanity? Why did the predators who conquered Earth and our solar system cede control of humanity to the parasites? These remain partially unanswered questions but somehow the parasites became the lead dogs in terms of enslaving humanity and when the predators surrendered and left, the parasites and the human secret government, whom the parasites control, barely missed a beat.

As long as my focus remained on the predators within the Alliance (who did surrender and have left occupied territory, including Earth) my efforts to shift the current timeline were relatively ineffectual. The true enslavers of humanity, the parasites, remained hidden and undisturbed.

My focus began to shift when I started working with a Chicago woman named Brittany in April. Brittany was heavily targeted by the parasites and as we worked to free her; the parasites and their hidden agendas began to be exposed.

There are two primary failure modes for any endeavour; fear and ignorance. Fear has not been a significant factor in my efforts to shift humanity’s shared timeline since I battled fear when I first began writing this blog in the fall of 2009 (the first nine months were swallowed up into cyberspace, so this blog begins in October 2010). This was not unfounded fear since the secret government and the parasites who control them are ruthless in every way but I asked to live to see the fruits of my labour and that request was granted. Ever since, I have followed my guidance and when fear crops up, I dissolve it by returning to my guidance. Once the fear is dissolved, I make my decisions fearlessly; and in accordance with the Light based guidance within me.

Ignorance is another kettle of fish. On several occasions, I have been of the opinion that I understand the big picture as it relates to shifting humanity’s shared timeline. However, on several occasions, there has proved to be a significant factor that has not yet been addressed; a significant factor of which I was ignorant. My former work partner, Katelon helped me to uncover several of these but we both remained blind to the parasites and attributed the parasitic agenda to the secret government. Each time we approached break-through, the parasites would interfere and the shift event would not happen.

My current work partner, Brittany removed these blinders. The parasites, their technologies, and the matrix (their illusion) are now being targeted and disempowered. This has become the present focus of the work Brittany and I are doing and already, significant progress has been made. Some days there is nothing to do, other days we are given specific projects; as examples: We were shown how to break into the matrix and effect light based changes. We entered one of the parasite’s buildings and shut down some parasitic masters and their technology. Brittany freed a spirit trapped in service to the parasitic agenda and made changes to ensure she remained free.

The work we are doing is attracting a lot of attention, both from Light based supporters and from defenders of the parasites and their matrix.

How close we are and when the shift will happen is not know to me; but this much I know…

It is coming good!

Wall Street Piles into Cryptocurrencies, Others Speak of ‘Biggest Scam Ever’

By Wolf Richter | 23 October 2017

WOLF STREET — I don’t remember ever having seen crazier times of more pandemic proportions.

“It is the biggest scam ever, such a huge gigantic scam that’s going to blow up in so many people’s faces. It’s far worse than anything I was ever doing,” explained Jordan Belfort concerning ICOs (initial coin offerings) of cryptocurrencies. The former penny-stock broker portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street should know: He spent 22 months in the hoosegow for securities fraud and money-laundering.

Just about anyone can call themselves a startup, make promises of future products or services, and sell digital tokens to raise funds. These digital tokens become tradable cryptocurrencies. Buyers do not receive any ownership of the startup, which is what traditional startup investors get. Instead they’re usually promised something in the future, such as free access to the service once available. It doesn’t really matter what the promises are because people buy the tokens to get rich, hoping that they’re getting into the hottest cryptocurrency on the ground floor. ICOs are not regulated and anything goes.

So far this year, there have been 202 ICOs that have raised just over $3 billion, according to the Financial Times[…]

US Now Admits Syrian ‘Rebels’ Have Used Chemical Weapons

By Tyler Durden | 22 October 2017

ZERO HEDGE — From the first moment chemical weapons were used on the Syrian battlefield, the American public was led to believe that only one side could possibly be responsible. The constant refrain in the echo chamber of US government officials and the mainstream media was that only the Assad government possessed chemical stockpiles and the technological capability of deploying such heinous weapons, therefore blame for each and every chemical attack from Ghouta to Khan Sheikhoun was laid at the feet of Assad and the Syrian military.

And yet last Wednesday, for the first time, the US State Department casually dropped an important admission into its official Syria travel warning for American citizens: that the core rebel group currently operating in northwest Syria not only possesses but has used chemical weapons — to the point that the State Department considers it a major enough threat to publicly warn citizens about.

The armed opposition group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), is referenced early in the document: “Terrorist and other violent extremist groups including ISIS and Al-Qaeda linked Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham [dominated by Al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat Al-Nusra, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization], operate in Syria.” HTS is the group now holding Idlib province, which it captured in 2015 as part of a coalition of armed groups given direct support from a US-led operations room in southern Turkey — this according to prominent pro-opposition analyst Charles Lister. A Litany of Harvey Weinstein’s Catholic-Bashing Films

Weinstein had no problem with hatred and bigotry ? he simply didn’t want it directed toward him.

By Angelo Stagnaro | 14 October 2017

Editor’s Note: The original version of this column omitted the attribution to a press release of Oct. 6, 2017, from the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. It also provided an inaccurate description of the 1995 film Priest, confusing it with the unrelated 2011 film of the same name. The Register regrets the omission and the error.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC REGISTER — Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me nine times, shame on me.

What would you say if someone had financed and encouraged nine films bashing Jews or Muslims or women?

Racism, bigotry, misogyny are words that come to mind.

On March 24, 2015, at a Simon Wiesenthal Center awards dinner at which Christoph Waltz awarded Weinstein the organization’s Humanitarian Award, he rightfully condemned anti-Semitism in his acceptance speech, as reported by Bill Donohue of the Catholic League:

We’re gonna have to get as organized as the Mafia. We just can’t take it anymore. We just can’t take these things. There’s gotta be a way to fight back.

However, Weinstein’s desire for “peace, love and understanding” didn’t extend to Catholics and the Catholic Church. So, while the polecat Weinstein abused women, he donated money to women’s causes because of his “undying respect” for them. And, throughout his best efforts at luring women to his casting couch, Weinstein was financing films that attacked and denigrated the Catholic Church, including such priceless cinematic gems as:

  • Priest (1995), a film that centers around homosexuality, celibacy and the priesthood.
  • The Butcher Boy (1998) is about a young boy who is molested by a priest in a reform school and is fascinated by delusional fantasies about a foul-mouthed Virgin Mary played by everyone’s favorite bigot, Sinéad O’Connor. Birds of a feather flock together. […]
