Missing Tax Money? Not Really

By Anna Von Reitz

This morning a friend forwarded links to these two videos to me— (below) in hopes they would more succinctly enlighten my Readers about the “missing” National Credit we are owed.  (He says my articles are too long. Sorry.)

Unfortunately, though these links provide some discussion of the fact that $21 T in National Credit is AWOL, they assume that it is “tax money” that is missing, and that is not at all true.

We know precisely where all the “tax money” went — to the Bank of England and to the Queen and to the British Crown — and most of it under conditions of fraud, too.

No, the $21T in “National Credit” that is missing is from a different source.  It’s credit that the American States and People are owed that was never credited back to them when they exchanged actual goods and services for I.O.U.’s from the same louses that were taxing us under false pretenses.

What they did was set up a double accrual bookkeeping system — popularly known as “keeping two sets of books”.   This allowed them to create multiple accounts under your name, each one presumed to be acting in different capacities.  For example — your given name in the form: JOHN MARK DOE functioned in the capacity of a constructive ESTATE trust.  JOHN M. DOE functioned in the capacity of a public transmitting utility.  JOHN DOE was a public charitable trust franchise of the Public Charitable Trust (PCT) set up in the wake of the bogus “Civil War” for the benefit of displaced plantation slaves.

So, your credit for labor and goods delivered and interest owed to you for investment of your assets was credited to your NAME — JOHN MARK DOE –but you were told nothing about this cozy arrangement.  Literally billions of ESCROW account transactions took place at cash registers and banks day after day crediting JOHN MARK DOE.

But since you didn’t know that you had an ESCROW account to collect upon, you just left all those assets sitting there unclaimed.  Then the central banks responsible for this fraud came along and said, “Oh, my!  Look at this escrow account just sitting here!  It hasn’t been touched in ten years….. the owners must be dead and these funds are (most likely) abandoned….”

So they claimed all the credit owed to you for your actual labor and goods delivered as “abandoned funds” and used your assets for their own benefit.

All this was in addition to any “tax money” that the Queen and British Crown received under false pretenses from people who weren’t actually “volunteer” Warrant Officers in the Merchant Marine Service.

The same kind of fraud scheme has been played with mortgages.

Your understanding — deliberately encouraged by the fraudsters who advertised “Home Loans” — was that you were acting in your natural capacity as a living man or woman, getting a loan from the bank to build or buy a home.

In fact, you, the living man or woman, were being solicited by the bank to loan them your assets — your labor, your land titles, your home — and in purportedly “equitable exchange” — they paid themselves back for mortgages owed by the “STATE OF IOWA” for example.

You thought it was a loan to you from the bank, but in fact the deceitful bank was making a loan to JOHN MARK DOE, a franchise of the STATE OF IOWA, and you were presumed to be “volunteering” to pay off a mortgage owed by the STATE OF IOWA  which was acting in behalf of the presumed equitable title-holder to your ESTATE, the State of Iowa.

You were “presumed” to be making a “gift” of your labor and goods to pay off the debts owed by these corporate government franchises.

So, when you faithfully made “your” mortgage payments you paid off the debts of the STATE OF IOWA and its franchise JOHN MARK DOE.  This interpretation of the “loan agreement” was confirmed when you failed to collect the ESCROW account and apparently abandoned it in favor of the “State of Iowa”.

Read that — at the end of the day, after paying off a mortgage for thirty years— you still owned nothing.  All you had done is pay off part of the debts that these shyster organizations had run up against your labor and land and other assets.

What this also means is that you are owed a shitload of credit and also a blivet and a half of actual assets— land, gold, whatever-the-rats-have-got.

No wonder the Directors at the Bank of England circle their desks and hide.

Our point to you all is that our entire country has been swindled by these thieves for 150 years, and most of the rest of the world has been, too, for varying lengths of time.  And, naturally, the corporations these same banks formed to “provide government services” have naturally turned a blind eye to all this deceit, fraud, self-interest, and crime.

The banks and the bankers are the ones who owe the entire World Debt which is fabulously beyond any ability that they have to pay back.  If valued at current standards, there aren’t enough assets on this planet to pay back what they already owe to all of us.  So what to do?

We collect back what we can and then we “reset” to zero— forgive all the debts, which regenerates an equal amount of credit— but we do not allow these fraud artists to control that credit or continue on with business as usual.

We require the replacement of all the Boards of Directors of all these banks caught indulging in this “System” of things, we replace all the Banking Commissioners responsible, too, and we replace all the SEC Directors, IRS Commissioners, and others who have contributed to this gross Breach of Trust and criminality.

None of them have any cause to complain.  After what they have pulled, they should be happy to escape with their lives and an elderly Volkswagen.

We make a clean sweep of it and start over.  And that does not mean that we play another round of the same old fraud.  That means that we wise up and decentralize everything under a completely new and hack-proof banking and internet system, where everyone on this planet has their own inviolable private identity and account.

As pay back, we issue every man, woman, and child a “Basic Living Stipend” paid into their account every month, sufficient to pay for food, water, housing, utilities, clothing and other basics of life.  We also issue an investment account equal to half the Basic Living Stipend which people can invest throughout their lifetimes and collect upon retirement.

We also insure everyone against losses, provide Medical Care Accounts to pay for all non-elective medical procedures, tests, and therapies, and free tuition at all public Universities.

Nobody on this planet is going to suffer any more once this process is done. No more wars for profit.  No more starving children.  No more industrial pollution. No more freezing elderly.  None of it.

Here’s what Max Keiser is discussing, and even if he’s got it wrong, at least he’s talking about what’s going on and your “missing” credit.

If You Feel Immense Joint Pain, Have Yourself Checked for This Immediately

Gout is a form of arthritis characterized by painful, stiff and inflamed joints. The stiffness and swelling are a result of excess uric acid-forming crystals in your joints,1 and the pain associated with this disease is caused by your body’s inflammatory response to the crystals.2 A “disease of kings” was the moniker given to gout, as it was often seen in members of the aristocracy who overindulged on fancy food and liquor.3

King Henry VIII of England was known to have suffered from gout. Alexander the Great,
4 Michelangelo,5 Nostradamus, Sir Isaac Newton, Leonardo da Vinci, Ludwig van Beethoven, Benjamin Franklin and Charles Dickens also fell victim to this disease.6 Sadly, the number of people being diagnosed with gout nowadays is slowly rising, and anyone can be affected by the disease, whether you have royal blood or not.

Gout by the Numbers

In the U.S., it’s estimated that more than 8.3 million7 people suffer from gout. In a 2011 Arthritis & Rheumatism article, researchers noted that gout impacted about 6 percent of males and 2 percent of females in the country. Across the pond, the U.K. recorded a whopping 64 percent increase in gout incidence between 1997 and 2012, roughly around a 4 percent rise per year.8 Now, 1 out of 40 people in the U.K. has the disease.9

Although gout itself isn’t exactly fatal, the health problems that may develop because of the disease can greatly increase a person’s risk of dying.10 Gout attacks or “flare-ups” can be extremely painful, so do not take this disease lightly.11

Stay Away From Conventional Gout Treatments as Much as Possible

Since gout is actually a type of arthritis, you can alleviate the pain that arises from a gout attack. However, prescription drugs such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are commonly prescribed for treating gout,12 have been proven to do you more harm than good.

You’re better off practicing holistic techniques. Not only are these methods less expensive compared to buying prescription drugs, but they also pose fewer health risks. Making tweaks to your daily routine can also be helpful in preventing gout, since your lifestyle is a big factor in reducing your chances of being diagnosed with the disease.

Learn more about gout through this handy guide that provides vital information about how this disease affects your body, its causes, symptoms and types, and different tips and strategies that you or your loved ones can practice to stop this illness from causing you further harm.

Hydration Is About More Than Just Drinking Water — How to Hydrate at the Cellular Level to Improve Health and Longevity

By Dr. Mercola

Dr. Zach Bush is a physician and researcher with a practice in Charlottesville, Virginia. Bush is triple board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, as well as hospice and palliative care, giving him an unusually broad range of expertise. Before he switched his focus to nutrition and natural medicine, he was a cancer researcher.

In our last interview, we discussed intracellular communication and the importance of soil microbes in the growing of food. Here, our focus is on hydration.

“A lot of our discussion last time was around the gut. There’s rising awareness in the medical industry, as well as in the lay public, of the importance of gut health for human health.

However, even though this general correlation has now been largely assumed, if not proven, there remains a disconnect between understanding why gut health is so important and how it impacts so many phases of health and disease. Hydration, this topic we’re covering today, is a huge piece of that puzzle,” Bush says.

Redefining Hydration

Your gut is an important part of the hydration cycle. The question is, how do you move water from the intestinal lining into your bloodstream and, more importantly, into your cells? As noted by Bush, when we talk about hydration, we’re not simply talking about drinking enough water throughout the day but, more specifically, getting water inside your cells.

“That’s two vastly different things,” he says. A common recommendation to ensure hydration is to drink water until your urine runs clear. Unfortunately, even most medical professionals are stuck in this simplified mindset. “It’s not unusual to put 5 liters of water into somebody’s vein in a matter of hours in the operating room or the emergency room,”

Bush says, “And so, we have this huge infusion into the bloodstream, but unfortunately, that does not necessarily translate into water inside the cell. That, as it turns out, is really a crux of what we call the aging process.”

About two-thirds of your body is composed of water, and a majority of that water — about 66 to 70 percent — is within your cells and lymph system. With age, your body tends to lose its ability to get water from the vasculature, the extracellular environment, to the inside of your cells. “If we could stay perfectly hydrated in the intracellular environment, our aging would slow down if not reverse,” Bush says. The reason is because water is an important mechanism by which you remove toxins and naturally-produced oxidants from your body.

Intracellular Hydration Is Key for Health

So, the crux is to hydrate your cells, and simply drinking water is not typically the most effective strategy to achieve this. Oftentimes the water you drink will simply be urinated out before it has a chance to get into your cells. And, without proper intracellular hydration, your health suffers. Bush explains:

“The obvious thing around hydration is the inflammatory processes. Chronic inflammation is the accumulation of oxidative compounds within our cells and then, ultimately, within the bloodstream. That is largely the result of a lack of interaction of hydrogen that’s within the water system. Water is one of the main carriers of hydrogen. This affects every signaling system in your body, and perhaps most notable, beyond the [cleansing] part, is actual fuel production.

Your cells run on ATP, adenosine triphosphate. ATP is produced by the mitochondria, which look like bacteria, but they live inside your cells. They’re about 100 times smaller than bacteria. These mitochondria take the sugar and fat out of your food system and turn that into ATP. They do that through a series of enzymes. The respiratory chain is a series of enzymes in the wall of the mitochondria that is the one that will ultimately result in the production of ATP.

Interestingly, the F1F0 [ATP synthase] pump, a tiny molecular structure at the end of this enzyme pathway, is what will convert one adenosine diphosphate to one molecule of ATP. That last step requires four hydrogens, two oxygens and two electrons …

When you think about the structure of water, which is going to be a combination of two hydrogen [molecules] for every oxygen [molecule], you basically have two H2O molecules, and their concerted electrons are going to be necessary for that last step of fuel production.

The clinical manifestation of aging and inflammation is ultimately one of the loss of fuel production at the mitochondrial level. As you get dehydrated, as you fail to get oxygen and hydrogen in the form of water inside the cell, you lose the ability for those mitochondria to be cranking out all of that energy … used for cellular repair, replacement and the whole anti-aging effort.”

Oxygen Derived From Intercellular Water

In aerobic respiration that occurs in the mitochondria, the ultimate electron acceptor is oxygen. A common belief is that oxygen is derived from the air we breathe. But Bush contends that oxygen is also derived from hydrolysis of intercellular water into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O), and that to consistently get the proper ratio of oxygen to hydrogen, you need to liberate the oxygen from the water (H2O).

“[T]he H2 molecule is now recognized to be one of the best selective antioxidants for the hydroxyl free radical. What that means is that the hydroxyl free radical, which is the most noxious to the cell membrane and our ability to do cell maintenance, can be scrubbed or picked up by the H2.

In this way, the water you’re drinking is a delivery of both oxygen and hydrogen in a nice ratio where you can release the O’s with their electrons. They become O2. They release H’s in the form of H2. They become a scrubber of inflammation and substrate for the ATP pump.”

According to Bush, all of his patients are dehydrated. Indeed, he believes virtually everyone is dehydrated to some extent. In his clinic, he measures hydration by measuring phase angle. Phase angle is measured in a way similar to that of a whole body bioimpedance that is typically done to measure body fat. It uses electrocardiograph leads placed on your limbs and allows you to measure the electrical resistance to a standardized current running through your body tissues.

How to Measure Your Hydration Level

For the phase angle, leads are placed on your wrist, finger, ankle and toe. Lying flat, the resistance and reactions across your entire body are measured. This measurement gives you a good ides of your cells’ ability to hold an electrical charge and there’s a direct correlation between the phase angle and an individual’s hydration level.

As explained by Bush, “An electrical charge across the single cell membrane is a very powerful measure of your capacity to intracellularly hydrate, to get water inside of your cells … I’ve never seen somebody coming in with a health complaint with a phase angle better than 7.” In the general public, the angle phase bell curve is between 3.5 and 10. Death tends to happen around 3.5.

“Interestingly, all of our cancer patients tend to come in around 4.5 or below, which is interesting because it suggests, from a hydration standpoint … cancer doesn’t happen until you’re so dry that you’re nearly dead. In this way, cancer is not a disease that pops out of anywhere.

It’s simply a lack of water within the cells. You get an accumulation of oxidative damage, which will then do the DNA injury and all of these other things that we think of as being the cancer process …  Ideal health is up around 10. Death is around 3.5. Most of us in the U.S. are living between 6 and 8, and those are people in good health.”

The Health of Your Cellular Membranes Influences Your Ability to Properly Hydrate

Bush has done a lot of work on tight junctions — Velcro-like proteins that create macromembranes that hold the cells together. One of the primary tools used to measure the health of these membranes is transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER), an ohmmeter with microscopic filament attachments that allows you to measure both the inside and outside of the membrane, giving you an indication of the resistance across the epithelial layer. Bush explains:

“That epithelial layer is acting as a resistor, if you will, just like the rubber on a copper wire. That plastic or rubber coating on the wire is insulating it so that the electricity stays inside the wire and doesn’t short out. In the same way, your macromembranes, the barrier systems of your gut lining, of your blood vessel tree, the blood-brain barrier, all of these create an electrical gradient across them at the macrolevel.

What we’ve shown, with regard to hydration, is that the higher that electrical charge across that membrane, the more likely you are to pull water across … You’ve got over a billion cells forming your gut lining. If you just take one of those cells … the electrical charge across that [cell], when you’re healthy, when you’re up around the phase angle of 10 to 12 … that charge is above 10,000 volts.

Imagine the electrical energy of a lightning bolt being held across a barrier that’s just a few microns in space. It defies our normal understanding of Newtonian physics. It’s absolutely down in the quantum physics realm that a cell membrane that tiny is able to hold that enormous electrical charge. What builds that electrical charge is ultimately the mitochondria.

We talked about the mitochondria cranking out ATP. In the process of taking glucose or fat and turning it into ATP, the electron transport chain, Krebs cycle — all of these mechanisms of fuel production — create electrons. You’re creating this high electrical force within the cell through mitochondrial energy production. That leads to a gradient. A high electrical gradient is going to pull water inside the cell …

[So,] you can’t talk about mitochondrial health or mitochondrial production or fuel production without talking about water. Those two are absolutely inseparable …

If you start taking a bunch of supplements but you don’t have that electrical charge across the membrane, you can’t get the [nutrient] to transit into where it needs to be, because you’re lacking all of that intracellular commerce that’s being driven primarily by the electrical charge that’s driving water that will pull the rest of it with it.”

Your Phase Angle Provides a Sense of Your Biological Age

About a year and a half ago I visited Bush’s clinic and had a phase angle test done. To locate a practitioner that can provide this service, see RJL Systems’ Locate a Practitioner page.1 At the time, my phase angle was about 5.6. I was quite annoyed because I thought my healthy lifestyle would result in a better reading.

But it motivated me to make some changes and in about nine months I got it up to about 6.4 and more recently it has climbed to 7.0. It’s a rather slow process, as it’s not influenced by temporary situations but a rather long-term reflection of your biology. According to Bush:

“The phase angle … is the best technique for really developing a sense of biologic age. You went from a 5.6 to a 6.4 over about a nine-month period … So, in just nine months on some very simple interventions, you reversed your age by 10 to 15 years biologically by getting that phase angle up. The chance of you developing a chronic disease, something like cancer, just went dramatically down because you’re getting water inside the cell — you’re scrubbing the whole system out …

We’re all very aware that we have toxin accumulation in our body … But all of our detox efforts are ineffective if we’re not getting water inside the cell. With your phase angle going up, now all of your detox efforts are going to be far more potent and effective.

Why is it so slow? It’s slow because it’s literally showing you the mitochondrial potential in the reservoir of your ability to repair in 70 trillion cells … It’s mind-boggling huge numbers. It’s one thing to say, ‘I improved kidney health today by hydrating,’ or, ‘I stopped drinking alcohol, so now my liver is healthier.’

We’re not talking about a single organ with the phase angle. We’re talking about the total global population in your body of 70 trillion cells. How do we affect that and what is it doing? That’s where the phase angle is a powerful tool.”

Improving Hydration Does Not Require Drinking More Water

It’s important to note that I was able to improve my phase angle without increasing the amount of water I drink. Again, when we’re talking about hydration, it’s not a matter of just drinking water, because you’re likely to just pee the extra water out if you don’t have a sufficiently high electrical charge. To actually improve the electrical charge across your membranes, Bush recommends:

Taking terrahydrite humic compounds such as Restore,2 which helps support your macromembranes, allowing for greater intracellular hydration. Restore also works on the mitochondria to ramp up the reactive oxygen species production in damaged cells, which takes the stress off healthy cells. All of that helps shift the electrical potential of your mitochondria to increase the electrical charge, which allows more water to enter the cells.

Reducing electromagnetic field (EMF) toxicity. “What is the relationship between hydration and EMF? This is a really cool subject,” Bush says. “The tight junction is actually helps maintain … the integrity of the cell-to-cell adhesion, allowing maintenance of the gap junctions that lay behind the tight junction barrier system.”

As explained by Bush, you have tens of thousands of gap junctions between one cell and the next cell — tubules that resemble fiber optic cables when viewed under electron microscopy. These gap junctions pass electrical light energy from one cell cytoplasm to the next cell without ever exiting into the extracellular matrix. In other words, a healthy cell population is one concurrent “mass of electrical energy” that can pass through this virtual “electrical circuit board” of the cells.

A number of environmental stressors can damage your gap junction system, including pesticides and other chemicals, EMF, alcohol and drugs such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories. “These compounds are very noxious to the tight junction systems,” Bush warns. And, when the gap junctions are disconnected, you end up with a decrease in electrical energy coherence, and a reduction in the frequency resonance between your cells.

In a dehydrated state, you end up accumulating toxins due to a lack of electrical energy flow. When you add in exposure to cellphones, Wi-Fi routers and other wireless technologies that output high amounts of electrical resonance, your already disconnected cells become prone to resonating to the wrong frequency.

“This is one of the critical realities. We cannot talk about tight junction damage or dehydration without mentioning this third toxicity that we’re exposed to, which is environmental frequency resonance that’s nonhuman,” Bush says.

The Importance of Water, Electrolytes and Fiber

According to Bush, a good rule of thumb for water intake is 1 ounce of water per kilogram of body weight. “So, if you’re a 75-kilogram, i.e., about 150- or 165-pound individual, you should be drinking around 70 to 75 ounces of water a day,” he says. However, as mentioned, cellular hydration goes beyond the need for water.

You also need to address the electrical charge within your cells. Two important measures were just discussed above (supporting your macromembranes with Restore and reducing EMF exposure). Drinking electrolyte-rich water is also important, as it too helps build electrical charges.

“The classic electrolyte in our American diet is sodium chloride (table salt)” Bush says. “Sodium chloride has a positive charge around the sodium and a negative charge around the chloride. That chloride anion, or negative charge, is one of the mega potentials there for hydration … Of course, there are many other important sources.

For example, potassium chloride is a classic delivery system for chloride. However, potassium chloride can stop the heart at a certain dose. There’s a fine line between dose and overdose when it comes to just about anything in nature. But certainly, the electrolytes are one of these … The easy way to titrate your electrolytes is by your bowel movements. If you start to develop loose stools when you’re adding electrolytes, you’re probably adding a little bit too much electrolyte.

You can get electrolyte powders at any natural food store. Some of them are liquids. Some of them are powders. I don’t have a brand preference overall. I would say, think about mixing it up, and see what your body tolerates. Some of the liquid ones are so concentrated that they can cause nausea.

A lot of people will get diarrhea or loose stools on them … Find the dose at which your bowel is tolerating that electrolyte load. It’s important to note that you don’t only want to drink electrolyte water. You’d want to drink both free water and electrolyte water intermittently throughout the day …

When I’m going through a hydration protocol with my patients, for three days they’ll do an intensive hydration protocol where they’re drinking 4 ounces every 30 minutes. They’ll do that from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Then they’ll give their body a break. They can pee off what they need to before they go to sleep at 9:30 or 10 p.m. In that 12 hours of intense hydration every 30 minutes, every other [4-ounce dose] has electrolyte in it.”

Another important component is fiber. “Fiber is one of the most important mechanisms by which your fruits, vegetables and, ultimately, your body, are going to manage water,” Bush says. Fruits and vegetables also contain other valuable micronutrients, including silica, which not only benefits your gut microbiome, but also helps improve hydration inside your cells. An herbal supplement that provides high amounts of organified silica is horsetail. Avoid mineral silica, as it actually promotes oxidation and is very dehydrating.

Come and See Dr. Bush Speak in November in Orlando

I first met Dr. Bush at the Academy of Comprehensive and Integrative Medicine (ACIM) in Orlando two years ago. It is by far my favorite professional event to attend as there is just a stellar group of clinicians sharing their insights on how to optimize health with natural strategies that are typically ignored by conventional medicine.

Of course, I will also be speaking along with a list of many other outstanding clinicians, such as Drs. Dietrich Klinghardt, Lee Cowden, Daniel Amen and many others that you can see here. If you are a clinician, I could not encourage you more strongly to join me in Orlando November 8 through 11. If you are an interested lay person, there will be a two-day event for you that last year had 500 attendees, at which I will also be sharing my latest strategies on how to improve your health.

Here’s How You Can Cook Beets

Beets, or beetroots, are well-known for their vibrant, deep-red hues, which make them easy to see in the produce aisle. While they’re filled with impressive amounts of vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, iron, magnesium and potassium, they’re often overlooked when it comes time to putting them on your shopping list — partly because many don’t know how to properly cook them.
If you’re one who hasn’t yet acquired a taste for these healthful vegetables because you’re not sure how to prepare them, read on for tips and information that will make you want to hurry to the store so you can try them.
First, a bit of information on the health benefits of beets:

  • They can help regulate blood pressure. Beets contain high amounts of nitrates, which may be transformed into nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is one of the compounds that help blood vessels dilate, which may help lower blood pressure. A study in The Journal of Nutrition1 reported that supplementation with beetroot juice showed a “significant reduction” in systolic blood pressure.
  • They may help boost brain health. A recent study published in the Journals of Gerontology2 found that ingestion of beet root juice not only increases blood flow to the brain, but enhances exercise performance in older adults.
  • They help lower your risk for heart disease. Beets have both betaine and folate, which help regulate the homocysteine levels in the blood. Elevated homocysteine levels are early indicators of possible artery damage and heart disease. Plus, the same dietary nitrate that helps regulate blood pressure may also help the betaine and folate reduce your risk of heart disease by regulating your heart rate and decreasing muscle sympathetic outflow, according to research published in the American Journal of Physiology.3

  • They can help improve digestion and bowel movement. Beets are rich in fiber, which helps bulk up stool and make it easier to pass. This lowers your risk of suffering from constipation, hemorrhoids and diverticulitis.
  • They help fight inflammation. Beets’ high levels of betaine, a compound responsible for protecting cells from external stress, fighting inflammation and reducing chronic disease risk, not only have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, but may even be chemopreventive (cancer-fighting).4

Here’s How to Prepare Your Beets

One of the most distinct characteristics of beets are their color, which also can make them challenging to prepare if you’re not aware that they are a natural dye, and therefore can stain things they touch. Luckily, beets are covered in a paper-thin skin that you may easily peel off once you’ve boiled them, if you’re not worried about staining your hands. Alternatively, you can also roast them, which will make it easier to remove the skin.
Here is a step-by-step guide from Joyful Healthy Eats on how you can prepare beets for salads, smoothies or other recipes:5
Ingredients:
6 beets, preferably grown organically, with the skins still on
Procedure:

  • Fill a large bowl with water and ice.
  • Boil a large pot of water.
  • Add the beets to the pot of water and boil them for 20 to 30 minutes. (Larger pieces will require longer cooking times; if you can’t peel them once you’ve plunged them in the ice water, put them back in the pot and boil a few minutes longer.)
  • Transfer the beets into the ice bowl.
  • Remove the skin from the beets with your hands. Rinse the beets. Slice or dice to your preferred sizes.
  • Store leftover beets in an airtight container such as a Mason jar for later use.

Once cooked and peeled, you can add these beets to fresh salads, juice them with your favorite greens, pickle them or warm them up with a pat of grass fed butter as a side dish.

Roast Your Beets in an Oven for a Much More Intense Flavor

You can also cook your beets in an oven, especially if you want to experience the intense earthy taste that distinguish beets from other vegetables. After roasting, the beets may be added to salads, drizzled with olive oil or sprinkled with Himalayan salt and eaten as a snack. Here’s a guide from The Spruce to successfully roast your beets:6

  • Begin with fresh, firm, preferably organically-grown beets with the greens cut off (don’t throw the greens away — they are scrumptious and healthful on their own, and you can easily cook them just like any other green).
  • Rinse the beets to remove any debris or dirt on the skin. If the dirt is hard to remove, you may need to scrub them clean.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place a small amount of coconut oil in a ceramic braiser and thoroughly coat the pan to avoid sticking.
  • Place the beets in the braiser and drizzle with melted coconut oil.
  • Cover and roast the beets until tender. The time needed largely depends on the size of the beets and their freshness (fresher ones cook faster). For smaller beets, it usually takes 25 minutes to cook.
  • Remove the beets from the oven. You’ll know they’re cooked if they’re easy to pierce with a fork.
  • Remove the lid and let them cool. Slip the peels off with your bare hands or a paring knife, and slice, cube or dice, depending on how you plan to use them.

How Long Does It Take to Cook Beets?

One of the toughest things to figure out when you’re cooking beets is how long they need to get just the right texture and firmness. This largely depends on numerous factors, which include:7

  • Whether you have other foods in the oven with the beets. Cooking other foods with beets may compromise the moisture and the cooking environment, which may make the cooking time longer or shorter, depending on what it is you’re cooking alongside them.
  • Freshness of the beets. Fresher beets usually take less time to cook than older beets because older beets lose their tenderness over time.

  • Size and weight. The bigger the beets, the longer the time needed to cook them. Smaller beets usually take about half an hour to cook thoroughly, while larger or older beets can take up to an hour.

How Long Do Cooked Beets Last?

Once you’ve prepared your beets, either by roasting or boiling, the next question you’ll be asking is, “How long are these cooked beets going to last?” The answer to this largely depends on how you store them.
Cooked beets may be refrigerated or frozen to prolong their viability. Refrigerated beets usually last from three to five days. However, they should be kept in airtight containers, preferably glass bowls or Mason jars, to stop them from coming into contact with other materials. This will significantly lower the risk of contamination, which can dramatically shorten their shelf life.
When frozen properly, cooked beets may last between 10 and 12 months. However, if the beets are thawed after being frozen, they must be used immediately and should not be frozen again. They can be refrigerated for about three to four days, after which they should be disposed of.
Note that cooked beets left at room temperature are extremely susceptible to bacteria because of the moisture content. If left exposed for more than two hours, or if they smell or look “off,” do NOT taste them; discard them.8

Beets Deserve a Place at Your Table

When you’re trying to improve your overall health, you need to fill your diet with a wide variety of nutritious foods. With the impressive amounts of vitamins and minerals that beets have, this vegetable  can be a top choice for adding variety to your nutrition plan.
If you’re one who isn’t fond of the flavor of beets by themselves, the good news is this vegetable is so versatile you can add it to smoothies, salads and soups, which can both enrich the dishes’ flavor and help make beets more enjoyable for you. You also might try pickling them in vinegar with cloves or cinnamon. While there are many recipes for sugared pickled beets, the added sugar can negate the overall health benefits you get from the beets, so be sure to limit your consumption of beets in this form.
Ingredients:
2 pounds beets, greens removed
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup beet juice (saved from the cooked beets)
2 cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 peppercorns
1/4 bay leaf
Directions:

  • Wash the beets. Trim off greens.
  • In a covered pan, cook whole beets in boiling salted water until tender (35-50 minutes).
  • Cool slightly and slip off the skins. Wear gloves to avoid staining your skin.
  • Save 1/2 of the beet juice and slice or cut the beets the way you want them.
  • Put in a clean, empty glass jar.
  • In a small pan, bring the beet juice to a boil.
  • Pour the hot liquid over the beets in the jar.
  • Bring to room temperature and then chill.

Pepsi Caught Hiding Known Cancer Causing Carcinogenic Chemicals Contained Within Their Products

Back in 2013, the Center for Environmental Health released test results which uncovered that Pepsi had purposefully covered up high levels of 4-MeI in it’s products. The soft drink giant denied both the presence of this chemical in it’s beverages and the fact that it was dangerous. 4-MeI, short for 4-Methylimidazole is a compound that comes from the “caramel colouring” and is a known carcinogen.

Since this discovery, Pepsi has fought against complying with the California state requirements, a part of the Proposition 65 requirements to label anything containing any carcinogenic compounds. Diet Pepsi, Pepsi One and regular Pepsi all contain this chemical.

A settlement in a class action lawsuit against Pepsi has gained approval from a California judge, the settlement ensures that Pepsi complies to ensuring their products do not exceed 100 parts per billion of the caramel colouring’s 4-Mel. The settlement also requires that the soda will be tested using specific protocols.

Pepsi agreed to these measures in another lawsuit settled in a California state court last year. The new settlement, takes this measure outside of California and brings it across the entire nation.

Pepsi Previously Failed To Warn Consumers Of It’s Known Carcinogens

The lawsuit accused Pepsi of failing to warn people about the carcinogenic chemical 4-MeI. A Consumer Reports test from 2014 showed that the 4-MeI in Pepsi products exceeded the level of 29 micrograms per bottle or can, which was in direct violation of the common law and consumer protection statuses in the state of California.

Proposition 65

California has had Proposition 65 since 1985 and requires all manufacturers to provide the consumer with clear warnings when their products could expose them to either toxic or cancer-causing chemicals.

California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment had set the cutoff at 29 micrograms, at that level it creates a risk of cancer of one in 100,000.

According to a report from Mintel Leatherhead Food Research conducted in 2013, Consumer Reports said that the caramel colouring is the worlds most widely used food colouring. At the time, Pepsi tried to say that because Prop 65 refers to exposure per day rather than exposure per can, and that the average amount of diet soda that its drinkers consume daily is less than a can, there was no need to place a warning on it. Consumer Reports disagreed, however.

“No matter how much consumers drink they don’t expect their beverages to have a potential carcinogen in them. And we don’t think 4-MeI should be in foods at all. Our tests of Coke samples show that it is possible to get to much lower levels,” toxicologist Dr. Urvashi Rangan said.

Do We Need To Be Adding Chemicals To Our Food?

There are many stances to this question, but first of all, no. Often when CE covers something that involves any new discovery related to cancer causing chemicals, people are either happy to know about it or comment something along the lines of, “well, what doesn’t give you cancer these days.” The latter response is an extremely passive stance to something that we could actually have control over. It is important to realize that we choose what we are putting into our mouths and what is going into our bodies. Assuming that everything gives you cancer and there is nothing you can do about it is essentially giving up. Don’t forget knowledge is power. A little bit of research can go a long way.

If you don’t want to see these chemicals being used, then it is up to you and all of us as the consumer to choose products that contain only natural ingredients. Get informed, if you don’t recognize an ingredient on a product, pull out your handy dandy smartphone and do a quick search. We have the power and with a little effort we can avoid these chemicals altogether. The more we boycott these chemicals the more it forces these companies such as PepsiCo, and many others to either change their ingredients to suit consumer demands or quite simply to go out of business.

No, EVERYTHING Does Not Give You Cancer

There are a lot of chemicals in our food, on our food, in our water, in the air, and in our environment, however there are many things that don’t. It does require a little bit of effort on your part but you absolutely can minimize your exposure to these chemicals. Because of growing awareness and concern, there are many natural and organic companies that have sprung up that opt out of using carcinogenic chemicals simply because of growing consumer awareness and demand.

If you have the space you can grow your own garden, make your own cleaning and personal care products, drink filtered spring water, avoid plastics – you can drink sparkling water mixed with fresh pressed juice if you really want your soda fix. There is always a better, more natural option you just have to find it. We hold the power and it’s time we realized that.

Unbox Therapy 5-5-18… “The True All-Screen Smartphone is Here…”

https://youtu.be/sYvH7Y16iUM

I usually don’t post things like this, but I was pretty impressed by this pre-release Vivo Apex smartphone. And I like this team’s videos and his beard. Also I’ve expressed to Apple how I do not intend to EVER but a phone with a notch in it (the screen, that is, like the iPhone X has) or where they continue to remove features like the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Anyway, this post is more about tech fun than anything else.

Presidents & Politicians That Told The World Who Their ‘Bosses’ Really Are & What They Said

This is an article that originated from Collective Evolution in 2015. We are reposting it now to bring awareness to the ‘Deep State‘ that currently to controls and has been global politics and major institutions for a long time.

This is why the “deep state” is far from a “conspiracy theory.”

The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic societyThose who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.” – Edward Bernays (“the father of public relations”), Propaganda, 1928 (note that Bernays’ book, Propaganda, begins with the above quote).

If you told somebody 10 years ago that there existed some sort of secret group or “secret government” pulling the strings behind the scenes of government policy, international law, various global rules/regulations, and more, they would have called you a “conspiracy theorist.” Today things have changed, largely as a result of information leaked by Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, and various other whistleblowers and activists in recent years. Their bravery has shed light on the world of secrecy that’s been blinding the masses since its inception.

I’ve mentioned this before, and I’ll mention it again, did you know that the U.S. Government classifies more than 500 million pages of documents each year? Did you know that the United States has a history of government agencies existing in secret? For example, the National Security Agency (NSA) was founded in 1952, but its existence was hidden until the mid 1960’s. Even more secretive is the National Reconnaissance Office, it was founded in 1960 but remained completely secret for 30 years. Then we have the entire black budget world, a world dominated by secrecy that was officially revealed by Edward Snowden a couple of years ago. This deals with what are known as “Special Access Programs.”

It’s not just statements that these “high-level” people are making. It’s all of the proof and evidence that goes along with it.

Canadian Defence Minister Paul Hellyer

Former Minister of National Defence, Paul Hellyer, is one of Canada’s best known and most controversial politicians. He was first elected in 1949, and was the youngest cabinet minister appointed to Louis S. St. Laurent’s government eight years later. He held senior posts in the governments of Lester B. Pearson and Pierre E. Trudeau. He achieved the rank of senior master (Deputy Prime Minister), and went on to become the Canadian Defence Minister. He is best known for the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces, and in September 2005 he became the first person of cabinet rank in the G8 group of countries to state unequivocally that “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead.”

Here’s what he had to say about the world of secrecy:

It is ironic that the U.S. would begin a devastating war, allegedly in search of weapons of mass destruction, when the most worrisome developments in this field are occurring in your own backyard. It is ironic that the U.S. should be fighting monstrously expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, allegedly to bring democracy to those countries, when it itself can no longer claim to be called a democracy, when trillions, and I mean thousands of billions of dollars have been spent on projects about which both the Congress and the Commander in Chief have been kept deliberately in the dark. (source)

The 28th U.S. President Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson, an American academic, politician, and the 28th president of the United States, had this to say (among other things) in his book The New Freedom. The book also contains several other, similarly eye-opening statements:

Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.  (source)

The 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy

Here’s what JFK had to say in one of his most famous speeches:

The very word “secrecy” is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. … For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. (source)

John C. Calhoun, 7th Vice President of The United States

John C. Calhoun was the 7th Vice President of the United States, from 1825-1832. He was also a political theorist during the first half of the 19th century.

Here’s what he had to say:

A power has risen up in the government greater than the people themselves, consisting of many, and various, and powerful interests, combined into one mass, and held together by the cohesive power of the vast surplus in the banks. (source)

This quote reminds me of a great clip from the Thrive documentary by Foster Gamble, heir to the Proctor Gamble corporation. He was groomed for the establishment, but chose a different path.

New York City Mayor John F. Hylan

John F. Hylan was Mayor of New York City from 1918-1925. He has been famously quoted as saying:

The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation … The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both parties … [and] control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques which compose the invisible government. It operates under cover of a self-created screen [and] seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection. (source)(source)

Senator William Jenner

A United States senator who said this to Congress in 1954:

Today the path to total dictatorship in the U.S. can be laid by strictly legal means … We have a well-organized political-action group in this country, determined to destroy our Constitution and establish a one-party state … It operates secretly, silently, continuously to transform our Government … This ruthless power-seeking elite is a disease of our century… This group … is answerable neither to the President, the Congress, nor the courts. It is practically irremovable. (source)

Senator Daniel K. Inouye

Inouye was the highest ranking Asian-American politician in United States history, serving the democratic party from 1963 until his death in 2012.

There exists a shadowy government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself. (source)

34th U.S. President And 5 Star General, Dwight Eisenhower

In his farewell address to the nation, president Eisenhower offered these words of caution:

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. … Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defence with our peaceful message and goals. (source)

This speech is relevant to share here,  because the disastrous rise of misplaced power within the military industrial complex has indeed occurred…

Benjamin Disraeli, First British MP

The world is governed by very different personages to what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes. (Coningsby, Book 4, Chap. 15.) – Page 131

26th U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt

President Roosevelt revealed this information:

“Political parties exist to secure responsible government and to execute the will of the people. From these great staffs, both of the old parties have ganged aside. Instead of instruments to promote the general welfare they have become the tools of corrupt interests which use them in martialling [sic] to serve their selfish purposes. Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day. Unhampered by tradition, uncorrupted by power, undismayed by the magnitude of the task, the new party offers itself as the instrument of the people, to sweep away old abuses, to build a new and nobler government.” (source)

The list of quotes is very large and could fill a number of pages, so I will stop there.
